@@jeanams07It's not usually how they present fictional romance- think about the first and third seasons, the two couples got together after working with eachother to marry the girls off. Season two, they hate eachother because they are so similar, the hard working eldest children. Francesca's story isn't one often shown in fictional romances, where they get together because he goes above and beyond to show support for her interest, rather than love by chance.
Right after the last scene you could see that Violet understood how happy and “inlove” Francesca was.
I love how encouraging Violet is no matter who her children fall in love with. No judgment.
Mama Violet has always learnt that her children found their other halves not through ordinary means, and she supported them as long as they are truly happy. Although sometimes it made her speechless 😅

All Violet ever wanted for her children was for each of them to find someone that could make them and happy and share love with. When I watched the scene of Francesca explaining of John had the music rearranged for her and how happy it made her, all i could think was that Violet never cared about rank, but about happiness for her children and how happy she was that her introvert daughter found that. Also knowing some of the details about Francesca's book, it will be very interesting to see how Netflix tells the rest of her story

Well, it's Netflix, so they're going to totally botch it up by changing the sex of her love interest and making her an unaware lesbian. That's 100% of their playbook. Play endlessly to the gay crowd, even when it doesn't make sense. Every once in a while, they accidentally get it right and make something beautiful, like with Brimsley, and so they keep just throwing it out there until they hit another one, ignoring all the stories they ruin in the process.

It shows savant level understanding of the music. Many musical savants are dumb because they don’t pay attention to much else to get to their standard. She’s not a big reader or into intellectual studies. She’s not a genius, just got a great mind for the thing she’s using it for. A genius is someone who’s incredibly intelligent.
I think she coded as some kind of high functioning autistic which actually surprised me because her face is quite mature. Usually they will pick someone quite quirky for this kind of role. Love it.

I think it's more realistic to have characters that are just average personalities because that's how most people are. Most people aren't characters in novels and movies meant to entertain.

Short clip, they were probably trying to get to know her better, whatever- but still when they asked “a your other interest…” it just reminded me of the type of people who only engage in your interests if it fits with or close to theirs, instead of accepting the differences as well as similarities between one another and coming together.

Im autistic. While i don't believe the character definitely is or even coded to be that way, i feel like i understand her so much. I also adore that she was playing the funeral march before her presentation.
Yes! She's definitely not autistic or neuro divergent but it's completely understandable that people relate to her bc she's very introspective and loves and lives for music bc she loves it so much.
I don't like that now everyone is trying to make every character that is introverted or has a personality autistic. She doesn't have any characteristic of being neurodivergent

@@aribahossain6234 i don't have many specific example, and i am going into hospital for a procedure tomorrow so ive been on some heavy nasty meds. But a good rule of thumb, is a very tiny proportion of us have savant syndrome. Its one thing to be talented on the piano, or gifted at art, etc, but sometimes it feels that we have to be absolutely outlandishly gifted in something for our autism to be taken seriously. I've been told i can't be "properly autistic because im not genius level savant like the good doctor". Personally i enjoyed bones. She was gifted but she wasn't so advanced she was in university when she was still a child. She was able to adapt and learn some social cues with supportive people who cared about her, she had friends and relationships and wasnt infantalised. Things that may come across as cruelty weren't played for laughs, and it was never used to excuse cruelty. As a high masking late diagnosis i felt kinship with bones.

I actually really enjoyed her easy and pure love story with Kilmartin. Two kindred, gentle souls finding each other amongst the ruckus of the Ton's drama was so sweet and I enjoyed each scene they shared. Fran kept from her typical passivity and embraced the boldnes because having a twin flame like Kilmartin gave her courage.
At musician realised how special his gift is. Francesca is such a lucky woman. I wish the producers would hold back on the ‘fireworks’ romance of Michael/Michaela to truly appreciate the beauty of this match.

autistic!francesca is so real to me. i don't know if that is what the actress planned, but i got that vibe so strong [and i'm not autistic]. it was a delight to see people that are really identify with her. she and john [her fellow autistic] were my favorite part of the show this season. as an introvert, it was so great to see my people out in the media wild in a scenario that doesnt demand that they ~blossom into extroverts. it was so cool that just by being herself she got the hot guy [because he was similar to her].

So , in her case learning pianoforte was more as a way of acquiring an art for the sake of expectations. But Francesca was purely passionate about music. This was seen when she noticed the flaw in the violinist's performance when interacting with Kilmartin.
