    A lot of it is they were they compress the power. If u see a gymnast's core it is tight, but a powerlifter's core sticks out into the lifting belt it uses. Many kungfu guys use the powerlifting way of internalising pressure. Not the gymnast's way. Its written abt in qigong literature if u look ard. I think dr yang, the americanised prc taiji man, talks abt it in his book. But a lot of this in chinese manuals.

      Haha i just happen come to this since my traditional kungfu friends has many health issues n performance based one overtrain themselves so much including me, i would love to keep my speed when im 70 lol

      @@jaynguyen7948 I would love to have speed too. I hurt my back helping my grandmother over the weekend, so I missed dojo training all week. But I got new sparring gear, a wavemaster XXL punching bag with 300lbs of sand in the base, and today my training bokken arrived. Next week I'll return to the dojo.

      @@bravelilspidey becareful, properly need some strength training for the stabilizers, then you could start doing speed. Hope you get well soon
