Fully automated taxi is already reality in China. There's no reason to not welcome Tesla's Robotaxi. I have a video of somebody taking an automated taxi in China if you want to see how they work.
This is comically uninformed. China has large import tariffs on foreign goods including cars, just like the US. Chinese and French cars are welcome in the US they just have to meet US safety standards and emissions standards. There's nothing barring either from coming to the US. If they want to avoid the US import tariffs they need to set up manufacturing in the US and make cars here. Both China and US have auto import tariffs. There's a reason most vehicles made by foreign auto brands in China are actually made locally in China. VW, Ford, Toyota all make cars in China.
This came out yesterday and "by chance" a news story about a possible probe into autopilot came out and took the stock down 3%. The short sellers are working overtime.
China is being very smart. Supporting Tesla's development puts China at the cutting edge of autonomous driving. Pretty pathetic that the US status quo has done every thing possible to prevent Tesla from succeeding.

I really do wonder what we'll see on 8/8 from Tesla. More coming soon news or something definitive. Feels like Elon is just tweeting to pump up his stock. He's doing it frequently now.
I think back to when they were going to do a Teslabot reveal and it turned out to be a guy in a bodysuit. It’s also worth remembering that the Roadster and the Semi were launched seven years ago, the semi is not being produced in any numbers and there is no sign of the Roadster.

You can buy almost any brands of cars in China. You cannot buy Chinese and French cars in US. Who has the free market?
Compared to China? Most countries.
China is very protectionist and not free.
Huawei and Apple is another example...........
Volvo and Polestar are here though.

They have had those taxis in their country for the last couple of years.
