EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. Using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain process traumatic events and "file them away" so that they are no longer disturbing.
Here are some testimonials from a few of our clients that have experienced healing through EMDR therapy.

Anyone of you out by here scared of doing this. Please do it you’ll have rough times but it’s totally worth it. I fought hard to get to where I am now and you will too. Don’t let it win!!
You’re worth it for yourself and your families. It works to be yourself again.

Thank you for this video! There are lot of “what is emdr videos,” but not many testimonial videos. This was very helpful.

I hate that I often see my mother's face from when she was so sick. I just want to remember the happy times. So much of my childhood still hobbles me. I'm hoping to start combination of DBT and EMDR soon.

I'm sorry to hear that you're stuck with those images. EMDR therapy will definitely help you to process the trauma and no longer feel the intensity of the past.

I have sought emdr therapy, but I have faced obstacles to getting it. Money, insurance, a shortage of providers, etc. So I have to white knuckle it. Because society still holds me responsible for my actions whether I am able to get the help I need or not

I’m sorry you’ve had a hard time finding the care that you need. It’s true that finding a qualified EMDR therapist that is also affordable isn’t an easy task. If you’re in or around Birmingham, AL, we’d love to help you. Remember that trauma changes how you are, it doesn’t change who you are. You can heal and get back to who you are. There is always hope for healing!

@SojournCounseling prior to emdr and other types of treatment we have, people with ptsd or cptsd were left to their own devices. They had to try as they might to MAKE themselves function MAKE themselves behave in a way that was socially acceptable.

It does help with loss of a loved one. I’m sorry for your loss, and I hope you can find a qualified EMDR therapist near you to help process the grief. You can search for a “certified EMDR therapist” near you at www.EMDRIA.org
