On my 2004 the silly design guys put the fuel filter deep behind and center of the fuel tank. I finally moved it out in the open simply extending the fuel lines and bringing the mount with it really makes filter changed much easier. as these do come off hard.
Isn’t it crazy how much torque these require to come apart! Anything that helps with removal is a must do, and ease of access is a huge one! Good move on the relocation!
With the 4P10 engine you just need to key the ignition on and let the electric pump run. You may need to cycle it a few times (wait until the pump stops running).
I can you hear the fuel pump running when you key the ignition switch to on? If not, check the fuel pump fuse, or try tapping it with a metal tool to see if it starts. I have a video on replacing the pump if you check my other videos. I also have one on how to read the diagnostic codes through the instrument cluster without a code reader - if the fuel pump is not the issue.
@@BruceandKristathanks! Do you have any videos on the other filters on this truck and all the weird tools you need ? specifically the oil drain plug appears to be some gigantic torx bit that i don't have.
If you go to the main channel page I have a playlist for Maintenance, and one for repairs - I haven’t covered everything yet, but slowly working through it all!
Thanks for the good video Bruce. I would be interested in seeing all of the fluids changed. I did see outliers overland video on fluid change....
All in good time 😁 slowly working my way through!

Please give the code that writes on the filter
What code are you looking for? The part number is shown in the early part of the video, is there another number you need?
