Outstanding!!!! Clear down to earth video... Easy to follow step by step diagnosis with everything you could possibly want... By far the best you tube mechanic for Mitsubishi canter ... Excellent!!!
realy good video it helps a lot i have spent 5,000 so fare to get my truck fixed and still the engine system light comes on every now and then thanks again for the infermation
Great video. I’m an emissions tester for the California air resource board and I have one truck 2016 fuso canter that I cannot communicate with any modules in the truck through the OBD port. Do you have any insight on this? There are no faults on the truck. I just need to perform an emissions test through the OBD port. My diagnostic tool indicates no ECM’s found.
Sounds like an automatic pass to me! 🤪. Not sure what software you use, but many OBD readers set up for passenger vehicles are not capable of reading the Bosch/Fiat/Mercedes/Mitsuibishi Fuso setup. I would be pretty confident if the truck isn’t throwing any codes - it’s within the emissions requirements, these trucks are super picky and throw codes at the slightest hint of something going wrong - to an annoying level!!
Super helpful. Thanks! I think Fuso Connect/Xentry might be a good investment but there seems to be a lot of quirky knock-offs on the market. Did you go through a dealer to get it?
Was actually part of a package deal when I purchased the trucks from the previous owner. Unfortunately the software was expired and it was all un-usable - but I was able to re-purchase software from Diesel Laptops (dot) com, and get things re-configured.
Middle low of your dash there's a plastic cover that pops off by hand and fuses behind that cover the top two right corner fuses are for blink codes. With ignition on and a warning light flashing pull the left fuse and the warning light will start blinking in a sequence, for example if you had code 26 it would blink twice at a certain rate and then six times at a different rate and repeat. If you pull the right fuse it'll clear the code.
Thanks! May the code gods be with you. Yeah it’s a big odd that some codes are not in the manual or google ex: 520717 -31 crankcase press code (sensor)
Only thing I can think of is the software in the truck was updated after the manual was published, and perhaps they updated some of the codes in the truck without updating the manual…. You sure on that code? SPN 520717 comes up in my manual, but it’s for gear shift magnet valve… (with no FMI of 31) my crank case pressure code was 30-17 (differential pressure between crank case sensors too high)
When you are checking the codes, continue to scroll through the options in that computer (i.e. ECU) and you will find one that says erase, it will clear the codes in that ECU.
You may find this helps, not sure it will be an exact match but you can try! www.fcarusa.com/TechSupport/FAQ/mitsubishi-fuso-accessing-diagnostic-trouble-codes
Do you have any recommendations for Tuning these Fuso Trucks … just bought one that has a bad DPF . Need it tuned…. Can’t find anyone in the US that does it .. everyone seems to be out of country for these trucks .
Your best bet is to get a copy of the truck manual, it lists the SPN/FMI - check the video description for links. SPN 3726 FMI 16 shows as DPF regeneration request too high - but you’ll need the manual to troubleshoot why.
Found you while searching for info on our 2017 FE. Maunalslibrary has up to 2016 but nothing later. Any idea where I can get the service manual for a 2017? Thanks! I appreciate guys like you who create this kind of content. Our local dealer (Tag) has been unfortunately worthless.
@abwale3729 Thanks! I found a PDF manual online but I do agree the 16 and 17 etc. models are very similar! Thanks again for your help. Got a 17 manual if you need a copy.

Wow that's Soooo useful. Thanks so much for this. Its such a hidden Gem that I would never have found
Glad it was helpful - hope it helps a lot of folks out!
That's awesome! You are going to save a bunch of people a bunch of money! Great information!
Thanks - I really hope lots of people are able to find this info, these trucks can be so difficult, but having this info can really make a difference!
@@BruceandKrista sharing the video in a couple FB overlanding groups. Thanks again for all the work you are putting into these videos

Glad it helps! Next time the light comes on grab the codes! If the truck spends a lot of time idling it could be the PCV filter needing a change.
Thanks Bruce very useful
Glad it helps!
So so awesome, thank you for the information, so helpful.... Cheers Man

@@BruceandKrista nice score. good to know diesel laptops is legit too. Yours a C4 or C5?
C4 or C5 referring to what?
My 2004 dash is much different than yours, I'm wondering if I can check codes similar to this or need a reader?
Bit of a different process on that year, but some info here… www.fcarusa.com/TechSupport/FAQ/mitsubishi-fuso-accessing-diagnostic-trouble-codes

Great video sure 😊 ! I wanna ask you if this can work on a fuso fighter not canter?
Depending on the year - if the instrument cluster looks the same - I would give it a try!

Any ideas on how to do it on a 2005 Fuso FG8?
Thanks!!!

Thank you thats a hidden gem. Is there any community form for Fuso?
There are a few groups on Facebook for the Fuso FG (4x4) - but I have not found any large forums.
Goto Expedition portal forums Japanese Heavy Truck forum.
Spn 523001 fmi 13 arza kodu hakkında bilgi verebilirmisiniz teşekkür ederim
I don't have a listing for this code unfortunately.

Depends on the year, but reach out to Tyler at ROAD Overland - he may have a solution for you - tell him I sent you!
Wow,very helpful, but i had SPN 3726 FMI 16,so what could be the problem sir,tnx in advance

Tax so much,I appreciate much❤
Please sir,can DPF full on my fuso canter 4p10 be the cause of my truck not starting?,I want to be enlightened more
Tnx in advance
Unfortunately I don’t have the answer to that!
Do you know if you have to reset dpf with a scanner after cleaning or does the computer automatically reset dpf with the difference in pressure
If the truck went into creep mode, it needs to be re-set with the computer - if it’s gone through a regen to clean itself, it should re-set.
Great
Glad it helped!
Hello, where I can't find spn list code for eng sys ?
There are a few links in the video description, have you checked those?
No "Engine" option on mine. Any ideas? Only read 1 wheel sensor code. 2021 FE180
When you get to that menu level, what options are you given? ECM/TCM/ABS etc?
Can you actually erase the code with this method?
You can clear codes through the dash, yes.
@ thank you, great video by the way. Most important info ever given out about the fuso in the history of man kind
