@Megalith Which was a 50/50 chance they were going to crash. Beating most of the higher tier bosses in TXRZ is by sheer luck and ultimate parts from mileage is +1,800 miles. Unless you're willing to leave your console running for most of the day then it's not a problem. TXR3 was way easier than Zero. Lmfao.

Considering this was in the arcades before receiving an exclusive home port, I'm not surprised this was designed to punish players and ask for more credits to retry. _If this port had the option to select and start arcade scenario with certain amounts of credits/continues; _*_THIS_*_ may end your entire run once or few times._

I feel like this is a balancing act where you have to try stay front but close enough so the ai won't draft boost ahead of you , and blocking them when necessary, also while paying attention to your SP guage. Once I figured that out, Devil Z/BlackBird isn't that hard actually.

Genki tried a comeback on the PS3 but with the same low results. Even worse as the game was worse in terms of gameplay (I own it, and handling sucked big time, cars wouldn't turn even after braking, not to mention graphics that are an insult to the PS3 and certainly ain't worth the hefty price), and playing with a wheel didn't change anything. They stick to arcade since then, earning money with each guy sitting behind the screen. Even if the guy won't try again, another will. Arcade world $$

Huh, a friend told me that the best way to win against that car was blocking him. I tried several times with the RT Ryukyu, but damn, the #13 is a tough one.
It's entirely possible to beat 13th racing without blocking him in the original, you just have to get good at silent drifting (drifting through the turn while keeping your car straight so the tires don't squeal). The RT Ryukyu is definitely a good car to use once you get used to drifting this way, though the Carrot car is even better.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2 is the game for you. The A.I. is extremely easy tho, the only challenge you'll encounter is to fulfil some conditions for the rival to appear.
I spent so many hours playing Tokyo Extreme racer on the Dreamcast. Zero on the ps2 as well. So addicting. You think the story of this game made it better or was it just a sort of distraction between racing?

Best way to beat Akio is using Supra, Evo VII, R34 or FD3S. Perhaps character car would be optional unless you unlock it by playing Story Mode instead of this Arcade Mode.
