Another certified banger of a vid.
We had an active serial killer in my town, Anchorage Alaska, in 2016. He was thankfully killed in a spontaneous encounter with the police that winter. I'll never forget how the feeling in town changed during that summer though, strangers were checking in on each other as you walked the street at night. It hadn't been officially confirmed to be a serial killer, but people knew.

Biggest problem with solving these cases is that the bodies were concealed so there is no crime scene to work with and there's no end of places you can hide a body in Ireland. Another problem is our police force were not organised and experienced enough in dealing with missing person cases because serial murder hadn't happened in Ireland before. I would love for these cases to be solved some day but I have doubts they ever will be.

Just watched this and got quite a shock at the Larry Murphy picture's.. I had a horrible encounter with a guy in the 80s in Ireland county Donegal.. He wasn't from the area he was working at a new shopping precinct area in the town he also said he was a carpenter... I had to Google him for more picture's and the pics from his arrest wearing the red fleece gave me a jolt... The brown hair the square fringe the dimple on his chin.. He just looks older.. Luckily for me being a bit street wise and starting to get really pissed off I'm from Glasgow Scotland.. I managed to get away from this guy by pulling myself away from him and stopping a car in the middle of the road and jumping in it complete shock to the driver but i was desperate at this point the guy was grabbing me trying to get me to go through bushes to see the river in spate... a really scary encounter that i have never forgotten i reckon he had been watching me for a while as i passed by daily where he was working he would be standing most days and would say hello to me...

I live incredibly close to the Wicklow mountains, and these cases have chilled me to the bone. What frightens me, personally, is how alike the Wicklow Mountains are to the Moors of England: the potential for hidden bodies to be strewn across both is incredibly high. Driving or hiking through the Wicklow Mountains leaves a pit in my stomach. I always feel like I'm being watched by someone. It wouldn't surprise me if a hiker were to find another body here soon, especially once the weather clears, as femicides have taken a rise in Ireland in the last year.

It has always disturbed me that some person or persons out there knows what happened to these women and where they lay.
I pass Imelda Keenan's plaque often and continue on the same route she was on. Every time I pass the plaque I can't help but wonder what events took place during that short walk from Lombard Street, where she was last seen, to the Post Office just a few hundred meters up the road.
It's hard to imagine that she was abducted and no one saw anything as it's a pretty busy area which leads me to believe if she had gone with someone she had met it was someone she was familiar with.
It was a Bank Holiday so the area would have been quieter than usual but there would have been some people around.
The Post Office would have been closed too as it was a Bank Holiday, so it raises the possibility that she just wanted to vanish and the train station is just a bit further up from the Post Office. However, I think it's documented that she had left her bag and any money she had behind in her apartment and the money in her account had never been touched.
It gives me chills to think about it.
I hope the families find the truth some day and perhaps find some peace. It must be a torture I can't imagine to not know what happened for the families of these women.
Very informative video and it's good to see that the story of these women is still being told.

Then a cab driver comes forward and states he picked up smith and 2 men who were going to a party near where her body was found. Another witness says he saw 2 strange men near the scene. Gardai believe it was Larry Murphy who abducted Deirdre. It's why the case was changed from missing to murder. They felt they had enough evidence and prepared a file for the state prosecutors. But due to the lack of a body they didn't give the green light based on circumstantial evidence. Similar with other cases mentioned here. Some were killed by those known to them but they don't have enough evidence for conviction.. so they are not all linked .

There is something weird about these cases. Most if not all are family oriented, happening around holidays, at just the right time there was an opportunity, to people with big families, who later report getting silent phone calls. These are premeditated, extremely strategized, and personal. Whoever this monster is, they either know their victims or preselected them well ahead of the murders, and they have serious familial issues, possibly with a sister or their mother.

I don't think all of these cases are necessarily connected. I think it's our version of the Houston Killing Fields where I grew up. My friends and I would drive that highway going to Galveston and eventually hit a part that was desolate and pitch black at night... and you knew it wasn't the place you'd ever want to break down or have to stop for any reason. At all. It was too quiet, too dark and seemingly too separated from the rest of the world.
On some nights, you could see the black outline of stark bare trees jutting out of the swamp against a weirdly black/orange colored sky. Sometimes I'd turn away and try to focus on something else-anything else, until we could see city lights again. Just like the Killing Fields, I really believe that some of them are connected but not all. It's the perfect dumping ground for serial killers or single kills of someone trying to get away with killing someone they knew. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

One night, he was washing what he claimed was a womans blood out of his work shirt in a sink. His explanation was plausible, but I later heard he was a wife beater, and he had an extremely poor attitude to women and was an extreme racist. It certainly makes you wonder.

Police suspected and interrogated him but couldn't prove anything except that the truck had travelled a few miles further than his route actually measured. And years later, his friend had a large sum of cash go missing from his work vehicle. Once again the Police couldn't prove anything.

I was just telling my 17 year old daughter yesterday that we have a serial killer in Ireland. She asked me where he is from and I told her 'Baltinglass'. The poor, unfortunate girl that Larry Murphy abducted and sexually assaulted was a hairdresser who worked in my town and he took her when she was leaving work on a Saturday evening. If it hadn't been for the two guys out 'poaching' in the mountains that night she would not have survived the attack and Murphy would not have been caught. He absolutely has blood on his hands and will spend the rest of his miserable life in hiding.

The male dominated police department in Ireland have in the past treated crimes against women lightly. Disparaging women’s character or using runaway or depression as a reason they went missing was easier than taking their disappearance seriously. Not linking the crimes was a way to ignore the fact they most likely had a serial killer committing these horrific crimes.

Too busy with their intergenerational nepotism, deferring on our aspirations for reunification, for fear of rocking the boat.
Happy instead to blame republicans at every turn.
Their counterparts in the north , the then RUC ,were worse again as is borne out with the story of the British agents , Dingnam Starr's and Toman whom they protected as they murdered and secretly buried a young woman Margaret Perry, who had inadvertently uncovered their treachery.

Sad story. Annie went to Ireland to live a happy life in the country she was infatuated with😢😢 and found her demise there😢
Two reasons why I don't believe Annie got on the bus at 3:40 pm:
    1. Unpacked shopping
    2. The sunset in Dublin on 26/03/1993 at 6:49 pm. I guess it was about an hour drive to Enniskerry, so the arrival time would have been at around 5 pm. Imo, too late to go there considering that she wanted to go there for a day.
I would like to know who was that person who saw her getting on that bus.
Annie had plans for the following day so partying at the pub in Glencullen on Friday, well, I find it unlikely.
May she rest in peace 😢

Can’t imagine she’d have hiked on her own?
Shopping left in bags is also very mysterious?
Seems feasible that a perpetrator that went over 20 years free after murdering a young girl, would very likely have committed more murders during that time? Surly that would be investigated?
Tragic stories, seems at this time young women lives were treated very cheap. 💔

The case where the house was emptied. That's a huge risk to take to do a clearout of bags worth of possessions, you could easily be disturbed, seen arriving or taking out bags, there has to be a good reason. My guess is perhaps there was a letter or photo connecting the person responsible but rather than taking the one item he wanted, which could be missed, he took out everything to disguise the item with the connection.
