It became obvious Yusuf does not think the way that Shmuel does because he warned Tamar to leave so that she wouldn't be questioned.

Yussif has got to be Joseph of Arimathea ….. and Erick as Nicodemus will have to return to the show!

Erick is why I kept watching initially. I love his acting and thought that if he was in it, then this was something worth watching. The character of Mary kept me coming back, too. Especially after seeing how they had Jesus rescue her.

@@dianam4708 well Nicodemus needs to be there to provide the spices for Jesus burial and to help Joseph of A prepare His body. Also I’m thinking that Erick just *might return as one of the Jewish elders/Sanhedrin who come to Jesus on behalf of the centurion with the sick servant (Luke 7).

Yeah, the stone quarry comment by Yusef was the thing that cemented it for me. Totally Joseph of Arimathea. Of course, I could be totally wrong. I guess we'll see.

I have been wondering about Yusuf as Joseph of Aramathea for awhile now.. but when he donated the stone supplies for Simon & Gius to fix the cistern & made known that his family was wealthy & had the leading masonry business in Jerusalem...that sealed the deal for me. Plus the fact that Yusuf is Arabic for Joseph.

Also I’m not sure if it was missed but, when Yussif and and jairus burst into Simon’s house Yussif addresses Jesus as Rabbi/Teacher! Which was a huge sign of respect to him in my opinion.

@@sheriwolkins8685so did I but most disagree with me. We're supposed to understand a centurion stabbed Jesus on the Cross, but I think it's Atticus who says the words of Affirmation. Gaius already knows who Jesus is. He'll be ordered to the Crucifixion, but I don't believe he'll make the statement of belief. Then there's Quintus. I think there are other plans for Quintus.

Here is my suspicion. First, he MUST have seen "something" (what he thought was a man walking on water) ... or why would he be there staring out into the sea in the pouring rain? I think Atticus saw "something", when he was a distance from the seashore. He probably didn't see it well and was uncertain ... so he went down to the seashore for a closer look. But by the time he got down there, there was no sign of what he thought he saw (a man walking on water).

You hit the nail on the head! Our conversation yesterday on Instagram that is theory I'm working on. Dallas has already established that Yussif comes from a very affluent family. I know this is just cross-referencing but I'm all about the details. My obsession with the Turin shroud. The garden tomb. And why Pilate would allow him to take the body instead of his immediate next-of-kin family. There are so many cool nuances here and I just love love how The Chosen is bringing it forward. Thank you for this insight! ❤

Remember Mother Mary was at the cross with several other of the women and John the Apostle. They were probably grateful that Yussif of A and Nicodemus, both leaders in the Sanhedrin, came along to help them. They would have been the ones powerful enough to get to Pilate for permission to remove Yeshua from the cross and bury him.

The first time I saw Yussif, I had another guess who it may be: The first century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus who wrote about Jesus, which make it one of the oldest sources, outside the Bible, on Jesus of Nazareth.

What I was intrigued about was when Atticus had met Pilate and Pilate said to Atticus " Unlike Quintis , I understand your interest in the Preacher " I was wondering, was Atticus interested because of the healings, because of the transformation of Simon Z or something from his younger days that happened .... there is a reason Atticus is interested in Jesus , but what is the reason and remember that Pilate did everything to have Jesus released instead of Barabbas but the crowd wanted Jesus crucified ....I am really wanting to see what direction this part of the story goes .

I have a feeling that Atticus might be similar to another character that was in another Christian movie based around Easter.
I see Atticus having a role similar to Clavius in Risen where he’s investigating what the heck happened the morning of Easter Sunday and coming to a conclusion that seems impossible. Especially the seemingly impossible: a man raising from the dead. A man that I think Atticus sees as potentially more than a man since he asked Z “What is he?” and not “Who is he?” A distinction that I believe is very important going forward with his character development.

    • @pretzelbobrocks2865
      @pretzelbobrocks2865 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@annaj6512 I feel it's correct. Joseph was charged with the early life and the eventual death of God's son. Anytime an angel appears to Joseph, he says take the boy and his mother. Never does he say take Jesus and your wife. That's because he was allowed to divorce Mary and hide from the jews but in plain sight. So that after Jesus died his tomb would be prepared by the one charged with his care. In life and death. Besides if Joseph stuck around the jews would have killed him for the message Jesus declared about his Father in Heaven. Would God let Joseph suffer after all that was asked of him. Certainly not. Is it really just a coincidence that his name is Joseph. And nowhere does it say he was raised a carpenter. Except by someone obviously demonic. Even Jesus didn't do many miracles and healing in that town. And it's recorded that Joseph was a secret follower of Jesus. Wonder why it was a secret?

Along with Nicodemus and Jairus he seems to appreciate Jesus more and more. For instance Shmuel is so wicked and concentrated only on his career in synagogue. He is in strong opposition to both.
As far as Atticus is concerned... I believe his role would become more important in later seasons.

My daughter and I think Atticus is a man possessed by a demon or Satan. Kinda disappears, reappears, really persuasive and always eating. Watching in the shadows. Just a thought.

I think you might be incorrect about Yussef. I believe, as you said, that Joseph of Arimerthea was a member of the Sanhedrin. I don't believe he has that distinction because he is a disciple of Nicademus. Additionally I believe that he is too young to have risen to the great Sanhedrin already. Although you do make some interesting points.

Yeah I think he had to be in Capernaum for us to get to know him. but that he will move to Jerusalem back to his family sometime in season 4. Then he will be asked to join the Sanhedrin with Nicodemus, maybe through him somehow.

Why would you put that in a title and spoil it? For a view?

Season 3, episode 1 has Yussif compiling a "history" of Jesus' activities. I think he will turn out to be Josephus.

Definitely NOT Josephus. Josephus was born after the Crucifixion and his father was a priest….Yussif is around Jesus’s age and his father is not a priest.

Also, the father of Josephus was named Matthias.
Rabbi Yussif’s dad is named Arnan.
