For Francis Drake, it's actually Queen Elizabeth in disguise. In Fate/Extra when she debuted, it went into a story in her info-page about how Francis Drake and the Queen swapped places, then queen having red hair and having a 'scar across her face' left her to stop making public appearances, or hiding her face... the fact that they put this in her debut game in Fate/Extra heavily implies that she's the Queen who left to sail the seas after swapping places with her old friend.
Apocrypha spoilers, but here's a little more context on Jack: Assassin Jack the Rippers lore is that she is specifically born from the vengeful desires of aborted children of prostitutes, that were dumped in the Thames River. Their desires took the form of a wraith that then went on to perform the murders known to be Jack the Rippers murders. She murdered the prostitutes specifically because of her desire to return to her "mother's womb". Hence her being a "collective consciousness of those who were not given the chance to be born". The outfit doesn't specifically have a lore reason, as far as I'm aware. The cloak is intended to look like she's found it, giving her the sense of being a vagrant, but the thong and croptop doesn't really have a reason beyond probably just the association with prostitutes and lewdness. Additionally there is another part of Fate/, with a Berserker Jack the Ripper. In Fate/Strange Fake, an alternate interpretation of the Jack the Ripper legend is summoned and he is a shapeshifter with seemingly no "true" form. He's a whole different entity to Assassin Jack, and both are potential interpretations of Jack the Ripper born from the lack of information about Jack as a whole.
Spoilers But isn't Jack Berserker's true identity a demon? his noble phantasm reveals his true form, the embodiment of the theory that Jack The Ripper was a Demon/Supernatural entity.
@@spiralpower9808 Berseker Jack is a manifestation of the mystery of Jack the ripper, it has no true identity just becoming anything the people thought Jack the ripper was one of which being a demon.
Rather than just younger, Lily is more “the beginning of their Legend”. Saber Lily is right after she pulled Calliburn from the Stone. Medea Lily is around when she just met Jason. Medusa Lily is before she was aged and turned into a monster. Cu Chullain Lily is Setanta. Stuff like that.
- Penthisilea has a sister named Hippolyta, who was killed by Heracles....because of divine shenanigans (it isn't Greek mythology without them meddling gods). Hippolyta is in Strange/Fake. - In Fate, Francis Drake isn't exactly a genderbend (although Fate/Extra makes it clear). The woman posing as him is said to be Queen Elizabeth, who at the time was a recluse due to a facial scar caused by smallpox and had ties to Wild Hunt, who Drake was a member of. - Scheherazade getting married to the king is not canon to her original lore. That was basically a fanfiction that was passed down throughout history and essentially _became_ canon to us. In Fate, anything that impacts our general knowledge about the servants (be it historical revision, pop culture, theories, or hearsay) can heavily factor in the servant's manifestation. This is why some history buffs and historians get somewhat frustrated over the inaccuracies and embellishments Fate does on a regular basis....however the exception is that they're not told or know of this fact about the impact on our general knowledge.
About the beliefs factoring in, this also affects grown Medusa. Original myth telling(s) have nothing to do about the Poseidon rape situation (surprisingly not even just this servant lmao), but once time passes and the Romans make an interpretation that story comes to be. So when she's summoned she gets all the utter disdain and hatred as if it had happened, which is why she's so empathetic and protective on Sakura in the FSN routes.
"My knowledge of Hercules begins and ends with the Disney movie." That is NEVER a good start or beginning in ANY regard to stories mythological, folklore or literary. Holy shit.
The Disney movie, while from a movie standpoiint being good, really hurts in the soul. Zeus and Hera as loving parents *shudder*. And my poor man Hades. He's a decent guy in Mythology (as decent as it gets, depending on the version of Persephones story i suppose) and mainly stays out of peoples hair.
If you think Heracles' design for Fate goes hard and wants more of it, watch Carnival Phantasm. It has his unquestionably best episode AND he turns into a car.
About albion, in Fate lore Great Britain is very closely conected with Mystics which is the basis of magic in fateverse, even being the last place where Mystics "faded" since by the time Artoria was around the rest of the world was already govened by man with exeption of britain. The land of Britain can manifest itself in the form of dragons, Artoria literally being the manifestation of the Red Dragon which is the side of Britain ruled by Men, a manifestation of a manifestation of britain, while Vortigern , artorias uncle, was a manifestation of the White Dragon, Britain ruled by Mystics. Albion is an ancient dragon and that nested in Britain hence it was named after it and is the whole reason for this since its a True Dragon which are basicaly at the level of gods so just its existance and sharing the name greatly affected it, even more since Albion is the only True Dragon that didnt go to the reverse side of the world which is another can of worms entirely
The few times I explained Apocrypha Jack to my history nerd friends, they found it fascinating and ingenious because of the unbirthing aspect of the actual IRL victims.
Here's an idea if you do another of these: Maybe throw in a few "Which of these is NOT a Fate Servant?" questions, where you might toss in someone like Erza from Fairy Tail, or Clare from Claymore, and see if they can figure out which character is from an entirely different franchise. :)
you should also use other characters from the Nasuverse that aren't historical figures (regardless of if they're servants or not), since they probably fit the esthetic pretty well
36:54 Hercule Poirot ("The Belgian") is mentioned by the Spirits of several detectives in the Shinjuku Pseudo-Singularity in FGO as having been to prideful and haughty to actually show up like the spirits of the other famous literary detectives. So he is obliquely at least mentioned in FGO and nearly shows up.
Technically Melusine is her chosen name. Fairy Knight Lancelot is something similar to her title. Albion is her actual identity, but more precisely she is Albion's left hand. In the Nasuverse Albion is not only the name for the Island of Britain, but also applied to one of the original dragons. The red and the white dragons from Merlin's prophecy (one embodying the British (the red dragon that is the Dragon Core of Artoria) the other Saxons (this one was also what Artoria's uncle Vortigern did turn into)) are both manifestations/aspects of Albion. Albion was the last primordial dragon to dwell in the regular world when the Age of Gods ended (the other migrated to the Reverse Side of the World, a different texture [reality] where for example Avalon is located, but eventually he tried to reach that place too by digging down deep. But it was to late and Albion died. The Clocktower centered in London is built over it's gigantic corpse in order to exploit it's ressorces and reality warping effects (Spirit Tomb Albion). In the history of Lostbelt 6 Albion also died (as it remained as one of the few things after the world was wiped empty by Sefar, the white titan that was in this timeline not destroyed by the sword that would be named Excalibur later on as that was not made by the 6 Grand Fairies that were supposed to make it) and it's corpse formed the core for a new landmass where Northern Britain would be. The still rotting corpse eventually lost the left hand as it rooted off and that left hand turned into "Melusine" when the Fairy Aurora picked it up.
38:33 Technically (and I do mean very technically) Hercule Poirot is in Fate. He's one of the formless ghosts in the crowd of fictional detectives summoned in the Shinjuku chapter of FGO. We don't see him, he's just alluded to in dialogue as the Belgian.
7:15 she is also the little sister of hippolytha who was killed by Heracles due to a tragic miscommunication sprung by hera who convinced the other amazons that he was going to abduct her when in reality Heracles only wanted her girdle to compete a task.
58:59 Yeah it is made of the remnants of the Round Table. That is also why it works as our summoning device as the table is known as "the place where heroes gather".
24:16 Actually only Tomoe Gozen is a female in history 57:11 Albion is a name of britain but in fate's magical world term it is refer to the last pure blood dragon that fail to leave and died and melusine is a part of the dragon that fell off and reborn as a faerie
Technically Poirot did show up at one point, but he never physically manifested because A. He considered himself better than Holmes and refused to properly manifest out of spite iirc And B. He’s not public domain yet so they can’t use him anyways, so he was just called “The Belgian”
57:20 This is one story i found on Albion (still not a dragon tho.) In the mythical story of the founding of Britain, Albion was a Giant son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. He was a contemporary of Heracles, who killed him. Albion founded a country on the island and ruled there. Britain, then called Albion after its founder, was inhabited by his Giant descendants until about 1100 years before Julius Cæsar's invasion of Britain, when Brutus of Troy came and defeated the small number of Giants that remained (as a group of the Giants had killed all the others).
In fact there is a jack the ripper berserker and is an intersting take , is a spirit without body who can transform into anybody , is from fate strange fake which is goint to be airing next gear
In the story of Avalon In FGO, Albion is the last dragon who becomes the original land that Fae Britan is built on, Melusine was birthed from the dragon's corpse.
its kind of sad that Heracles is more know by Hercules when you know that the whole reason he is named HERAcles is cause he changed his name to honor Hera, yes it was in an attempt to stop her from trying to kill him and destroy his life for the "sin" of coming out of Zeus' balls but still. oh wow, Medusa Lily does ressemble sistermon noir
I fault Disney for that one. They also somehow managed to picture Zeus and Hera as loving parents and Hades as some shortsighted dumbass. I think Heracles original name was Alcides? I'm not too sur eon that one though.
Matahari is such a lovely person, she was i think a french lady CMIIW, either that or one of the many nations who have invaded Indonesia, she firstly when was younger came to Indonesia and learnt the traditional dances there, hence the people in Indonesia used to call her "Matahari" which translates literally "The Sun" or in a more artistic way as "The One Who Shine The Brightest" after learning in Indonesia their traditional dances, she went back or went to France to be an entertainer using the stage name Mata Hari, the name that the Indonesian used to call her back then, but because this was happening in whilst in a war, she was, well framed for all the deaths that was happening back then, because they needed a scape goat, and what better scape goat than an innocent dancer, sho she was captured and brought into the shooting ground to kill her, but by her beauty, the first time they wanted to shoot, they just couldn't just because of her beauty, but the second time they wore blindfolds and well shot her. Even as a servant when asked what she wanted to do with the grail, She just said that im too weak to even have the thought of that, but nevertheless, She just wanted to have a loving family, with a husband and her own kids. and just that on its own made me cry and immediately fell for her. A Women who wanted to be a Loving Mother, had to shed her dreams early just for the sake of it.
My eye twitched a little when the first thing you recommended them to watch was the "people die when they are killed" adaption and _then_ UFOtable UBW. I've never met anyone who has recommended the first adaptation. If you want true, glorious, Hercules content then the true show of choice is Carnival Phantasm.
I gotta say, I love how Fate did Scheherazade dirty when it comes to warping her character. And I mean that in the most sincere way. In legend, she was a strong, resourceful woman who had outwitted the King into keeping her alive for 1000 nights. But Fate, in their very own twisted ways, has turned her into a woman who was only alive for so long because how afraid she was of dying, and was willing to do ANYTHING to stay alive, be it enticing the King in bed (being dressed as such) or pulling an interesting story. It just makes Scheh feel so much more human compared to most other servants, and... well, it's definitely made me feel protective towards her. I like her character a lot, even though it's such a contentious thing to say.
To add to this, Agartha Scheherazade is by far FGO Scheherazade at her worse. She’s normally alot nicer, this was only because Agartha was FGO writing at its worse though.
There are two versions of her legend, and Fate based her off both of them. The Scher we have in FGO is the one from the original version of 1001 Nights. The modern version, which people are most familiar with, is where she got married to the king after telling her stories. The OG version didn't have that ending, and it was highly possible that she was still executed after all she did to survive those nights. From the Bond Extra notes: _"At the conclusion of some modern day versions of "One Thousand and One Nights," it is said that Scheherazade ultimately bore three children, and the king learned to have a tolerant heart. As stated above, this ending was not present in the original, so there is a high probability that THIS Scheherazade did not have such a happy ending. And yet, that ending continues to be passed down, which means..._ _Just like the one at the center of the rainbow that smashed through the phantasmal city..._ _There must have been someone who prayed for her salvation._ _Someone who knew how she could be saved."_
TL;DR for Jack the Ripper: This Jack is the collective vengeful wraith from all the aborted children of prostitutes during that time period in London. Their wish to be born cause the wraith to "return to the womb" and obviously ripped those women's inside to shreds. The wraith was later suppressed by the mages and covered up, but due to the similar deaths, these killings were included into Jack the Ripper's legend. In the end, no one really knows Jack's true identity or which "Jack" is the original. Which is also why this Jack do not know if they are the real Jack, as all Servants are affected/created by their legend or stories. If humanity don't have a concrete record of it, then the Servant themselves may have fuzzy memories regarding that story of themselves.
A slight note, Berserker Heracles isn't just one of the first Berserkers in the series, he is THE first Berserker created for the series, I don't want to be a dick just trying to say that for the first Berserker he goes extremally hard.
I got him in the game and he's everything a Berserker should be. :D Slapping the everliving eff out of the opponents. They gave him about 4 revives of the original 12 (the latter would be way too op for the game to be fair. 4 is already considered bonkers). He's kinda my panic-button that comes in last and just gets rid of whatever managed to stay alive from my actual team. He saved my behind many, many times.
Fate's Throne of Heroes is not designed to be like the actual figure, but based on their usefulness and relic Hence many of them looks not even close to their historical self(if there are), but their concept are extracted or retailored to be a Heroic Spirit, as long as they are useful to Humanity
I'm surprised no one told you Francis drake is lore in Fate. The actual lore from Fate/Extra jp version of the game and not the localized version. It was hinted that Francis Drake is not actually Drake himself but Queen Elizabeth posing as Drake since they switched places with each other. I hated the changes they made since it removes depth to her character in FGO. They kept changing the lore of their servants just like a supposed to be unsummonable servant outside FGO which is Jeanne alter has been summoned by someone else besides fujimaru because reasons. She's famous they had to break lore just to put her in Fate samurai remnant.
Weirdly enough, Alter Jeanne isn't bad to appear outside of FGO. Normally Rulers aren't summonable, or incredibly difficult to do, so we're already attempting the realm of "this isn't supposed to work." In this case, after Orleans that warped mimicry of Jeanne gets etched as a part of her in the throne, and is summonable under Avenger for her personailty changes thanks to Gilles. If you were attempting to summon Jeanne and added in a few lines to the summoning you could do it (same way you can guarantee a berserker), but I'm not aware of how they did it in Remnant.
In case you don't already know: There is an alternate version of Jack the Ripper in Fate/strange Fake that's summoned as a Berserker who personifies the very mystery of "Jack the Ripper." He can assume the form and abilities of whoever or whatever you think Jack the Ripper could've been. What if Jack was a crooked cop who stayed several steps ahead of the authorities because he was also the man on the inside? What if Jack was a prostitute who was simply taking out the competition? What if Jack was a doctor and that's why his victims had such surgically precise injuries? What if Jack was actually a cursed item that compelled people to kill in its name? Hell, his NPs are literally: "What if Jack was actually a bunch of people?" and "What if Jack was literally the Devil?"
Yay another fun quiz! Some suggestions: Jalter Voyager Saw someone mention a "Who is not a FGO servant?" and I would like to add the possibilities of other Fate characters that arent servants/in FGO.
MHX does more damage to Saber faces, MHXA does more damage to the Saber class and good aligned enemies, and Mordred does more damage to Artorias (which is different from Saber face). Confused yet? Mysterious Idol X Alter does more damage to evil aligned and mechanical enemies. The Servantverse is crazy, and Mordred has some serious daddy issues.
You should include more Casters in the next episode. It would be entertaining to watch him try to parse between different magical aesthetics to identify the character. A round with the different author based Casters like Dumas, Anderson, and Shakespeare would also be fun. Please get Charles Babbage for a round as well, he has a really distinct design On a side note, see if he can get Mephistopheles. I want to see both if he can get it and what yall think of the design. I personally enjoy the fate version of the character lore wise, but hate the design. Great episode once again
So interesting thing I wanted to bring up for Melusine also being Albion and how Albion is the oldest known name for Great Britain Spoilers for Lostbelt 6 stuff Albion was a dragon of the primordial sea that flew over the ocean before Lostbelt 6 proper, and when Cernunnos was killed to lay down the foundation that would one day become Fairy Britain, so was Albion, so Albion’s body helped make up the land which soon became Fairy Britain, and that ties in to how Great Britain was once called Albion. Another thing of interesting note is that Albion is also known as a white dragon, and in tales involving Vortigern it usually involves him seeing two dragons fighting, a white and red dragon, with the white dragon prevailing to signify the end of his rule, which when you consider the end of Lostbelt 6 also is really interesting
Yeah the story of Heracles or Hercules is that of the tragic hero. Like most Greek heroes. Also the name is beyond ironic as it stands for Glory of Hera. I think it was Zeus's attempt to make his latest out of marriage child more acceptable. Erm... to no-ones surprise that didn't work maybe Zeus you should stop cheating on your wife. When Heracles was but a boy Hera sent two snakes to kill him when but he defeated them with his legendary strength. When he got his first wife and child, Hera turned him mad and he killed them in a bloodthirsty rage which lead him to do the twelve labours to atone for his crime. After doing all of that he got his 2nd wife who was convinced to put centaur blood inside his shirt. Centaur blood is like acid so Heracles died screaming. His mortal side died while his divine side ascended to godhood where he reconciled with Hera and married Hebe (Goddess of Youth). Yeah I think with a story like that I can see why he's berserker in Fate.
23:56 I don’t believe their is any direct correlation between Tomoe and raikou. A servant that is related to raikou is ushiwakamaru. Both are miyamoto’s raikou being ushi’s ancestor.
31:22 the forms of Jack thst we know of have nothing to do with their class qualifications. It’s due to the fact that we know nothing about Jack. Due to their ambiguity there are at this point two different jacks embodying two different interpretations of Jack. The assassin of apocrypha embodies the victims of Jack which is why they are a amalgamation of child spirits in a hive mind body out to find the prostitutes that aborted them and either ”return to them” or mutilate them. Then you have the berserker of strange fake a formless mist of possibilities representing the mystique of Jack who can became anyone they need to operate without being identified.
As someone that knows just the very basics of FGO this amuses me to no end, and i learn a few things to boot. FGO is inaccessible where i live and i cant be bothered to install it from scratch every time it updates. As a suggestion, someone already mentioned using characters from other series, depending on how much do you want to edit Azur Lane might offer some confusion, provided you hide the cannons somewhat (for example FFNF Jeanne d'Arc is someone that, i would consider close to Fate-ish style) Also loved the time lapses, one popped up randomly while i was working, i only wish i can have that skill.
So the space between something like Sun Shangxiang for all intents and purposes dont matter at all. Since chinese doesnt have spaces, the romanization will sometimes have or not have spaces. Usually mainland chinese names will not have a space but this highly depends too.
One Servant that kinda sticks out with me for how not only is she wildly different but *has to be* is Wandjina. She's based on aboriginal Australian belief and accurate depictions are considered culturally insensitive, to the point that one artist in the past faced backlash for drawing one without permission. Likely as a result of this (and probably the legal troubles caused by the Sherlock Holmes Servant), she is given a more humanoid design that only slightly references her origins, like experiencing time differently.
This artist wouldn't happen to be the same artist that lied about being a native Aboriginal, when in fact it was a white woman would it? I just realized this doesn't narrow it down too much...lol
Also, she actually isn't wildly different than many of the depictions(though one of her ascensions is a reference to a 60s tv show that looked...culturally insensitive at best). In fact, her body paint is damn near perfect from what I've seen(nowhere near an expert, just going by some depictions I've seen). Also, from what I've read, it isn't that depictions are considered insensitive or banned, it's just that only the actual aboriginal cultures are allowed to paint them on their ceremonial grounds and traditional cave and rock paintings. Any other depictions are perfectly fine.
The reason Arturia lily looks the same as regular Arturia is because regular Arturia is time-locked to look like the 13-16(ish? its never stated as far as I'm aware and i like to pretend 18 for sanity) year old who pulled the sword. It's the rare case of anime art possibly conveying an older age look than intended. Except, in universe, she is also trying to look both older and her being timelocked as a 'boy' is one of the rationales her soldiers are mentioned using to follow their 'king.' so I guess it's not meant to be obvious. Saber lily is more of a mental thing, being the Arturia who is about to pick up the sword but is currently unburdened by her ridiculous concept of perfect rulership. Also Jackie would be fine if they just gave her pants. please.
There is another Jack the Ripper in Fate, but it is in Fate/Strange Fake (a LN that is getting ann anime adaptation right now. about a Holy Grail War in the USA in 2009). Strange Fake Jack is Berserker class and embodies the enigma of "Jack's" identity, which means they can take whichever form they want since no one knows what Jack the Ripper looked like. His Madness Enhancement basically makes him completely calm and sane. "Jack the Loli" as introduced in Fate Apocrypha is the amalgamation of the spirits of the aborted and exposed babies of the prostitutes of the Whitechapel district in London. The Nasuverse version states that this "wraith" did exist and was put to rest by a Mage. If the canonical 5 victims of Jack the Ripper (Mary-Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Kelly) were really killed by them is mystery though.
39:00 The moment i saw Salome, i thought for a second you were refering to a Chayanne song and i was very confused LOL. Also i just found out that song is a reference to that historical dancer. Huh, the more you know.
WAIT, WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE IS IN FATE, I DIDN'T KNOW. I MAINLY PLAY IN JP AND I CAN'T READ JP. I COULD HAVE DONE REFERENCES TO CHAYANNE IN FGO ALL THIS TIME AND I DIDN'T???
Minamoto no Raikou (also known as Minamoto no Yorimitsu) lived in the 10th and 11th century (middle Heian period). Tomoe Gozen was the wife Minamoto no Yoshinaka. Yoshinaka was descendant of the same Minamoto (=Genji) family. If I am not mistaken Raikou is Yoshinaka'S Great-Great-Great-Great uncle.
Sorry for spamming comments but I'm kind of writing these as i watch. At the Lancelot question: missed an opportunity to have the reveal just label Mash as 'his son.' just for the reaction. So. Albion. Albion the white dragon is one of those English dragon myths Japan just looooves to use in their various media see also DXD but Albion has some major importance in fate as well. I'm a little shaky on this as well but I know the clock tower AKA Fate Hogwarts is built over Albion's corpse because Albion's death was some huge magical deal in fate(last dragon? maybe?) and so a lot of magic can be harvested from its dreaming rotting corpse. yay.
You should check out fate/strange fake(has archer Heracles, berserker jack and other new servants), fate/requiem (LOTS of mentioned servants like Hannibal, El cid, John snow etc…, alongside official servant designs of nzambi, borgias siblings and Longinus), fate/lost einherjar (Ragnar, aslaug, baba yaga, sigurd’s dad and uncle) and finally fate/samurai remnant (rider raiko, takeru, Samson, Zhou yu, etc…)it’ll be fun to see you incorporate servants from other media not just FGO
Someone else said this already but there is a berserker class Jack the Ripper in the novel Fate/ Strange fake. The idea of this story is essentially that a bunch of Americans stole the idea for the holy grail war and tried to copy it in the US. It makes a bunch of “fake” servants and Jack the Ripper is the fake berserker. As a berserker, Jack the Ripper is based off the terror and fear that the legend of Jack the Ripper created. So instead of getting a new body, Jack can shape-shift and look like anyone/thing that they want. Most commonly they are a watch that their master wears. Also Jack the Ripper does not know their true identity, because they are based off the faceless legend. It is speculated that if this servant ever figured out who Jack the Ripper really was, that they would then change because now the perception of Jack is no long faceless.
Mordreds situation is more like she doeant want to be seen as "just a woman" cause in her time women couldnt be kings, and she's REALLY touchy about that. Yknow, Killed saber (who hid she was a girl) and tried to take the thron over it. In fgo iirc in her summer form she has some text about not wanting to be seen as just a girl, but will gets annoyed at the thought of the player just treating her as a man too.
And so, some have identified her as nonbinary and giving her they/them pronouns. Mordred is a product of her time, and as such, her mindset is as well. Relegating her entire identity to match our modern society doesn't work and I find the notion really stupid. All Mordred wants is to be treated as herself, the person, without thinking about her gender first.
Uh, Fate/Strange Fake has its own Jack The Ripper. That one was summoned in the Berserker-Class, however they don't know who they are originally. Their amnesia is a referenced to a known fact that no one knows what Jack The Ripper's True Identity is, also the many people that claimed to be London's Infamous Serial Killer. In the Anime Pilot of F/SF, he demonstrates this via his shape-shifting ability where he turns into a policeman, a lady, and a watch...A WATCH. Fun Fact: The watch I've mentioned might be in reference to one of the clues that might hint the identity of who Jack The Ripper was.
I've only ever been OnYeen! I am very much an amalgamation of stuff I like, so perhaps that's why? Another possibility is one of my favorite artists is Drawkill and we have similar aesthetics/interests! But our art doesn't look super similar so I'm not sure. Hope one of those answers is helpful :)
Feels refreshing seeing cultured folks liking scheherazades design kek Also just love the tale of raikou, kintoki, and shuten. Probably some of the most interesting interpersonal relationships in fgo
Well the Merlin thing isn't even true for one. Can't have a child since it'd just be human, but Mordred is a dragon in soul the same way as Artoria. Means there has to be some kind of spell to split off or clone Artoria's origin. Then on top of that the FGO profile for Morgan clarifies she took blood and spirit/soul from Artoria.
I am late but since no one in the comments mentioned it I will jack the ripper is technically NOT jack the ripper they are someone who COULDA been jack the ripper but not necceserily him and berserker jack who people already talked about is not exclusive to the berserker class its specificaly mentioned that this jack can be summoned as other classes and if he is he will posses whoever his master is and take over their body flat(the master) got really lucky that he got him in the berserker class
Also, their weight and height are the same and Drake's info says her bust size is what Elizabeth's was estimated to be.
Apocrypha spoilers, but here's a little more context on Jack:
Assassin Jack the Rippers lore is that she is specifically born from the vengeful desires of aborted children of prostitutes, that were dumped in the Thames River.

Tomoe is the wife of Minamoto no Yoshinaka, still family with Raikou, so yes, Tomoe absolutely have connection with Raikou :)
"My knowledge of Hercules begins and ends with the Disney movie."
That is NEVER a good start or beginning in ANY regard to stories mythological, folklore or literary.
To do with Astolfo. He does once travel to the moon to retrieve another person's sanity. Because yes.
If you think Heracles' design for Fate goes hard and wants more of it, watch Carnival Phantasm. It has his unquestionably best episode AND he turns into a car.
Bersercar is indeed best Herc.
Then Bersercar returns in FGO
You should also note that Albion is derived from latin word "albus" which literally means white.
The few times I explained Apocrypha Jack to my history nerd friends, they found it fascinating and ingenious because of the unbirthing aspect of the actual IRL victims.
Jack is ultra-based TBH.
apocrypha jack has a fire ass story but a terrible character design
@@mqegg The design is epic.
Here's an idea if you do another of these: Maybe throw in a few "Which of these is NOT a Fate Servant?" questions, where you might toss in someone like Erza from Fairy Tail, or Clare from Claymore, and see if they can figure out which character is from an entirely different franchise. :)
That's genius omg
If/when I do that I'll credit you!
Stop giving her ideas, she’s already a menace 😂
you should also use other characters from the Nasuverse that aren't historical figures (regardless of if they're servants or not), since they probably fit the esthetic pretty well
36:54 Hercule Poirot ("The Belgian") is mentioned by the Spirits of several detectives in the Shinjuku Pseudo-Singularity in FGO as having been to prideful and haughty to actually show up like the spirits of the other famous literary detectives.
24:16 Actually only Tomoe Gozen is a female in history
57:11 Albion is a name of britain but in fate's magical world term it is refer to the last pure blood dragon that fail to leave and died and melusine is a part of the dragon that fell off and reborn as a faerie
Technically Poirot did show up at one point, but he never physically manifested because
A. He considered himself better than Holmes and refused to properly manifest out of spite iirc
And
From the Bond Extra notes:
_"At the conclusion of some modern day versions of "One Thousand and One Nights," it is said that Scheherazade ultimately bore three children, and the king learned to have a tolerant heart. As stated above, this ending was not present in the original, so there is a high probability that THIS Scheherazade did not have such a happy ending. And yet, that ending continues to be passed down, which means..._
_Just like the one at the center of the rainbow that smashed through the phantasmal city..._
_There must have been someone who prayed for her salvation._
_Someone who knew how she could be saved."_
NGL I am surprised bro didn't know who Astolfo is
TL;DR for Jack the Ripper:
This Jack is the collective vengeful wraith from all the aborted children of prostitutes during that time period in London.
This is the best format for an FGO quiz I've seen. All others come from left field without multiple choice.
I watched the previous vid yesterday and I get blessed withth sequel already? Tahnk you~~!!!
Fun fact. The "Drake" we know is actually hinted at not actually being drake himself but actually Queen elizabeth the second posing as Drake
A slight note, Berserker Heracles isn't just one of the first Berserkers in the series, he is THE first Berserker created for the series, I don't want to be a dick just trying to say that for the first Berserker he goes extremally hard.
I got him in the game and he's everything a Berserker should be. :D
Slapping the everliving eff out of the opponents. They gave him about 4 revives of the original 12 (the latter would be way too op for the game to be fair. 4 is already considered bonkers).
He's kinda my panic-button that comes in last and just gets rid of whatever managed to stay alive from my actual team. He saved my behind many, many times.
Saber face goes from the fact that Artoria was the first Saber we know
Columbus specifically gives me BIG Don Krieg vibes, so I definitely get the One Piece comparison.
Fate's Throne of Heroes is not designed to be like the actual figure, but based on their usefulness and relic
Hence many of them looks not even close to their historical self(if there are), but their concept are extracted or retailored to be a Heroic Spirit, as long as they are useful to Humanity
Some suggestions:
Jalter
Voyager
Saw someone mention a "Who is not a FGO servant?" and I would like to add the possibilities of other Fate characters that arent servants/in FGO.
Mysterious Heroine X does extra damage to saber and good aligned servants. And she is so much fun
Please get Charles Babbage for a round as well, he has a really distinct design
On a side note, see if he can get Mephistopheles. I want to see both if he can get it and what yall think of the design. I personally enjoy the fate version of the character lore wise, but hate the design. Great episode once again
So interesting thing I wanted to bring up for Melusine also being Albion and how Albion is the oldest known name for Great Britain
Spoilers for Lostbelt 6 stuff
Albion was a dragon of the primordial sea that flew over the ocean before Lostbelt 6 proper, and when Cernunnos was killed to lay down the foundation that would one day become Fairy Britain, so was Albion, so Albion’s body helped make up the land which soon became Fairy Britain, and that ties in to how Great Britain was once called Albion.
Yeah I think with a story like that I can see why he's berserker in Fate.
i like your character especially the unhinged eyes
oh also it have similiar vibe of a certain Fear and Hunger youtuber which is neat
I thought we'd get knife jack the ripper from FSF but that was funny too.
You should have pointed out that the Starbucks lady is a Melusine.
Another quiz right after i finished the first one?! Truly a blessed day!
Quiz idea. Who is female to male genderbend? and show pictures of Red Hare, Chiron(3rd ascension) and Xiang Yu
As someone that knows just the very basics of FGO this amuses me to no end, and i learn a few things to boot. FGO is inaccessible where i live and i cant be bothered to install it from scratch every time it updates.
As a suggestion, someone already mentioned using characters from other series, depending on how much do you want to edit Azur Lane might offer some confusion, provided you hide the cannons somewhat (for example FFNF Jeanne d'Arc is someone that, i would consider close to Fate-ish style)
Also loved the time lapses, one popped up randomly while i was working, i only wish i can have that skill.
Show them Passion Lip 🤣 Really shock them
I agree with this thumbnail 300%
@@casteanpreswyn7528 yeah, that one. Obviously she's not working FGO though.
@@jvts8916 yeah, she didn't face backlash for the art, she faced backlash for lying about being an indigenous person for clout.
Oh, an idea!
Show three servant pictures and three NP names and the goal is to match them up.
Yep she's a berserker! She's either a 1 or 2 star (don't remember offhand) so there's a good chance you already have her :)
These are amusing.
The YT algorithm sure likes Fate.
I don't know if you've done this one yet, but maybe a "Which One Is/Isn't a Genderbend?"
All Mordred wants is to be treated as herself, the person, without thinking about her gender first.
is it strange that i find OnYeen laughts adorable?
Artoria is my favorite servant and I have her so I’m happy 🥹
Uh, Fate/Strange Fake has its own Jack The Ripper. That one was summoned in the Berserker-Class, however they don't know who they are originally.
Their amnesia is a referenced to a known fact that no one knows what Jack The Ripper's True Identity is, also the many people that claimed to be London's Infamous Serial Killer.
In the Anime Pilot of F/SF, he demonstrates this via his shape-shifting ability where he turns into a policeman, a lady, and a watch...A WATCH.
Fun Fact: The watch I've mentioned might be in reference to one of the clues that might hint the identity of who Jack The Ripper was.
we need the next one pls
New Video letsss gooooo
Your style seems super familiar but I'm not sure why. If it's OK, did you go by another name previously?
I've only ever been OnYeen! I am very much an amalgamation of stuff I like, so perhaps that's why?
Another possibility is one of my favorite artists is Drawkill and we have similar aesthetics/interests! But our art doesn't look super similar so I'm not sure. Hope one of those answers is helpful :)
Noice i loved the other video !!
Wooo babbyyy
Feels refreshing seeing cultured folks liking scheherazades design kek
Also just love the tale of raikou, kintoki, and shuten. Probably some of the most interesting interpersonal relationships in fgo
What, no mention about Merlin and Artoria's Dick Magic when Mordred came out? 😶🌫️
... or the Monster Can incident with Astolfo's voice dubber? 😶😶😶
I am late but since no one in the comments mentioned it I will
jack the ripper is technically NOT jack the ripper
they are someone who COULDA been jack the ripper but not necceserily him
and berserker jack who people already talked about is not exclusive to the berserker class its specificaly mentioned that this jack can be summoned as other classes and if he is he will posses whoever his master is and take over their body flat(the master) got really lucky that he got him in the berserker class
