Here’s what I think may be a first. I often Shazam and then save your music to Spotify from your videos. I like your taste in spey fishing and music. Cheers, Ian.😎
That's some river all them hook ups on a day, I've fished about 14 days since 1st January, only a kelt and few sea trout to show for it, can't wait for a Springer
Thanks 🙏 and glad you enjoyed the vid! Those were all in May, sadly not the same day 😄🎣👍. And keep going, only a matter of time until you find a 2023 model! 😊🎣👍
Great video Andrew.. Have watched and really enjoyed your videos particularly the “flytying”…. As it is my intention to tie most of the Irish Shrimp patterns. I Iive in England and fish mostly in Scotland as well as the River Tyne in England ( hence my interest in your Irish Shrimp Flies…..Peaty water ) Have already fished in Scotland for two weeks this year and caught one fish ( on fly ) Plus did not see many fish at all . I feel it is going to be a very poor season in Scotland. I just wondered if you had done any fishing this year….and what you think of the salmon fishing In Ireland looks like this year! Tight lines and best wishes…👍👍👍
Thanks Harry 🙏, glad you enjoyed this and the fly tying vids! I know our Irish patterns do well in the Tyne, as you say it’s peaty water is very similar to a lot of ours rivers. I fished the Tyne once and enjoyed it, it was the main river and bigger than most of our rivers but same character. Well done on your Scottish springer, hard to come by this year so far by all accounts! 👏🎣. I’ve only been out once so far this year, last Friday and managed to get a fish and lose a few others.. cutting it fine for a springer 😄. Our runs haven’t been great here generally, but conditions haven’t been very favourable either.. from too much water early on to not very much recently. Hopefully that will change in time for the grilse 🤞🎣. Tight lines for the rest of the season!
@@AndrewMcGall Hi Andrew, Many thanks for your reply.. I am concerned that for all sorts of reasons the Scottish Salmon population is in sharp decline. The salmon is an iconic fish that has been around for many years and it would be a disaster For it to disappear. Hopefully things are not as bad as they appear. I note what you said about being out only once this year…. Congratulations on catching a ‘Spinger’ and losing some others. That is indeed encouraging news! I wish you all the very best with your fishing…..’Tight Lines’………👍👍👍
Thanks Paul 🙏 and using 13ft double hander and switch rod and mostly multi tip shooting heads, flies usual Wilkinsons and other Irish patterns. Tight lines 🎣😊😄
@@AndrewMcGall looks really nice . Not like most of the canals around 😂. Yes it’s a lovely part of the world for fishing. I’m going to have a go on the Abercorn estate water in April with hopes of a first Irish springer . But first back to Scotland for a day on the glenmoriston estate a tributary of the ness system and a day on the ness it’s self . Have you fished the mourne at Abercorn before?
@@lewysmacdonald2057 yes some nice pools on that stretch, most famous is called the Snaa and lovely pool to fish 👌🎣👍. In April the fish will be thin on the ground that far up the system but you’ve always a chance. It’s generally May before any numbers run the weir at Sion Mills below, but you never know! 🤞🎣🎣
Great vid Andrew! Tight lines sir.
Thanks Nigel 🙏 and tight lines for the new season 😊🎣👍

@@AndrewMcGall you too
Can you please show in videos your tackle and tippet setup?
I’ll see about including that in a future video Christiaan 👍
What was the tackle set up and fly patterns, and the location. great springers, well conditioned fish.
Thanks Paul 🙏 and using 13ft double hander and switch rod and mostly multi tip shooting heads, flies usual Wilkinsons and other Irish patterns. Tight lines 🎣😊😄
Nice Andrew I can’t wait. Are you using poly tips on the switch rod
Thanks Dean 🙏 and yep normally have some sort of tip on depending on conditions 😉🎣👍
What river is this Andrew ? Iv not long moved to NI after growing up in Scotland allways looking for nice water. Thanks
It’s the River Finn Lewys and plenty of good fishing here, the whole Foyle system can be good for salmon 🎣🎣👍
