The wood chips look great. Can’t wait to see all the paths covered with it. I enjoyed the clips of the little birds feeding too. You did a great job on the cage to keep the bigger birds out. 🙂
Ooooo Sarah it looks so much better with the woodchips on that edge. Love your little Great Tits and a little Marsh Tit they are loving your feeder. Keep going girl. X
What a lot of work because some board members decided something must be growing all the time! Ummm, not my cup of tea! I love my flowers but when they die off in fall, Im done. I only plant annuals. I would be planting a lot of mint family plants. Lemonbalm, lemon grass, Sweet mint, spearmint, wintergreen. Make flavorings and teas from them. They reseed themselves.
Fabulous! Thank you for explaining how allotments work. We only have community gardens in California. They small and very few around to join. Your lot is beautiful. 🩷💜
Hi Sarah. The wood chippings really define the paths and the edge will look good with pots on. Great idea the cabbage zigzag planting. How lovely to see the little birdies making use of your feeder. Xxx
I'm in Canada, and I have a community garden that is just 10 x 20 ft (200 sqft) . I am always amazed how much I can grow in that space. My grandad in east London had an allotment so I know how wonderful they can be! This year has been a challenge for me - started off well but the voles ate half of my garden and it was so disappointing! Your allotment is really coming along nicely and makes me wish I had as much space as you to have a poly tunnel and potting bench!
@sarahsallotmentjourney tomatoes have been great, and our black and red currants were the best year we've ever had ❤️ everything else has struggled. But there's always next year and I'm planning already! 🍅🥔🥕🌽🫑🌶
@@PatsSweetSixties give it another month and I will be starting the wind down of my plot and planning a few winter jobs on the plot .. it never ends lol
Good idea for putting the lavender behind your bench. The smell will be so relaxing. For sure the wood chips really makes your paths look great. Should put a bird bath for your little birds. My wife likes the black capped chick a Dee's. Your allotment is looking gorgeous.
Your allotment is looking really nice. Can't wait till it's all bloomed. I saw what looked like Rheubarb. My dad enjoyed rheubarb and 🍓 strawberry pie. I never got the taste for it cause it's so bitter. Great job Sarah.
Your garden is lovely. I know you just posted this, but was wondering if it's recorded in late August. Where I live in Oregon, USA, broccoli and cabbage are more of a spring crop. Just wondering if your climate is a lot cooler than where I live.
The allotment is so peaceful! No traffic sounds, just birds and quiet. How lovely!
I do hear a distant ice cream van every now and again lol wishing it were close
Love the path with the wood chips. Every video your allotment looks better. Thank you Sarah.
I think sometimes what else can I do and then suddenly I think of something lol
It's all coming together wonderfully! The Lavender will be great behind the bench, will smell divine as you sit there with a brew!

Thank you so much
Allotment rules vary surprisingly from area to area . Some farmers are diversifying by turning fields into private allotment sites.
Yes I have seen that online I think it’s a great idea

You must miss this garden space to putter in when winter comes. I sure would. Thanks for the great explanation on what an allotment is all about.
@@tls8688 I still pop down over winter there is usually still something to do not as often but there are still a few winter jobs to do
That you can get to that space in the winter boggles my mind! I can’t imagine a winter without four feet of snow. I may have a bit of envy.
@@tls8688 lol no we don’t often get snow just a lot of rain
I wish I could share a picture of our garden in the winter. You’d laugh.
