      @@ColorUp I was @ Casino a Ceasars property in southern Indiana & I was playing this system. It's a don't come bet of 150. After establishing a point(9), I place 25 on every number and buy the 4 & 10. My goal is to hit 4-6 times & then place the point (9) for 125. Well I was told by this Casino I could not do this after I rolled a 9 & they didn't pay me. Did I make an improper wager?

    Everything makes sense, but I can’t wait to buy the 5 and 9 in Vegas (on the “Vig on win” tables) and see the looks on everyone’s face. 😂

  • @mvondrak

    A trick that I teach people is to buy the four or ten for and extra $1. Ex $21 or $26 etc. this way the $21 bet would pay $42. We just pay you $41, keeping the $1 vig. This way we don’t have to bother you for the dollar every time. Even a $51 buy would pay $102, we just pay you $100 keeping the $2 juice.

      This doesn’t make sense on a table that charges vig on the back end. You’re unnecessarily risking the extra vig amount right away. If the shooter seven outs then you lose the bet and essentially “prepaid” vig. It’s better to hold your vig and pay only a win - for example on a $50 bet you’d still get paid $100 and they’d ask for the $2 vig but you’re not risking it up front.

    • @mvondrak
      @mvondrak 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ick5353 it carries the same inherent risks. It’s the same odds/probability not matter how much you bet. The casino will get their $1 one way or the other. You’re still winning $2 more, and just skipping tossing your $1 in. It helps speed the game up, and if you’re not paying 100% attention, the dealer just hands you your payout, and you can keep chatting with your buddies, order your drinks, or whatever it is that makes you not pay attention. Not to mention if you’re willing to make a $25+ and you’re worried about losing $1 more, maybe craps isn’t a game within your reasonable gambling budget.

    Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh has great craps games. Sometimes $5, always $10 minimums, vig paid after wins, and they automatically buy the 5/9 for you when it favors the player - for example a $25 place bet is common on 5/9 to win $35. The dealers will instruct players to buy 5/9 for $24 to win $35 ($36 minus $1 vig) allowing you the same net win for $1 less risk. Great games, great atmosphere.

    Also keep in mind some joints will “total” the vig. So if you try the four and ten for $39 apiece. So they might consider it $68 worth of buys and charge $2 one roll, and $1 the next. But you’re right it will vary from dealer to dealer, Box to box, shift to shift

    If the pass line number comes up 4. I go heavy on "don't" 4 place bet and a little on the hard 4. The same if the point is 10. Yeah, I know the payoff is half(if you don't count vig) but probability is heavily on your side for the 7 out. This requires patience because I will just stand and watch a lot of games. However, I have one superstition but based on a lot of experience, when I see too many consecutive field numbers pop up like a half dozen in a row, I will take down my "don't" place bet. Works best on a "cold" table. I like to decide directly what number to cover and be able to "pull down" whenever I want. You can't do that on the pass or come.
    However, sometimes if the table is "hot" and totally covered with chips, I might cover both 4 and 10 on the "normal" side. Yeah, now it pays almost double!! Also, keep on top of the crap stickman, because sometimes they forget to pay you. That's happened. Good luck, all.

    For vig when bet is made, it's hard to get a good deal if you buy both 4 and 10. I generally get a $38 buy bet, but I've been at casinos that cap it at $25-30. My only objection is when a stickman insists on a rule, the house tells them it's not as strict; the guy wants the harsh rule for you!

    Ok bare with me here. Your example about the $100 buy bet on the 4. You bet $100, and provide a $5 chip for the vig/commission. You win - you are paid 2:1. So..my question is, are you paid $200 and you still have your original $100 bet up there? If you were to walk away, would you now have $300 and only have paid the $5 vig?

      I’ve only seen them charge vig per bet. I’ve heard from old timers they used to spread the vig between multiple bets, so maybe some casinos still do that?

    Interesting how casinos won't let you make a buy bet below $20 because that would be ripping the player off. I thought ripping people off was the whole point of casinos!

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, but if they allow buy bets at $10 even though vig higher, the player gets paid more than place bet on 4/10….so they are ripping us off after all ha

    • @ColorUp

      Sounds like after it hits they are collecting for your next bet as it stays up. If you ask to pull your bet down they would return that dollar as well.

    You said there is no house edge on buy bets except for the 5% vig at 1:21 time. That's incorrect. There is always a house edge
    whether the vig is paid up front or upon winning. And good luck finding a Vegas casino that allows paying upon winning. lol

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was making a point. Not a house edge EXCEPT the 5% vig the charge, which is a house edge of course. Also many Vegas casinos have switched to automatic buys on 4/10…which means they take vig on win.

    I know putting a place bet on the point is a bad idea is it the same with buy bet when the point is 4 or 10?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      place betting the point is only a bad idea if you have a pass line bet. You will get a better payout by moving that money to the odds bet behind the pass line bet. Same would apply to 4/10. Don’t make a buy bet if you have that number bet on the pass line, use that money for odds.

Or they will only let me throw the dice. Ty...

    • @ColorUp

      You can additionally buy your point number, but would be better to bet more money with odds as there is no vig like with a buy bet. They will not allow your friend to roll for you, until your roll is over. Then it would be their turn if standing next to you, and would have to make their own bets.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To figure buy or lay bet = commission divided by the bet plus commission so $39 bet with $1 commission is 1/39+1(40) or 1/40 = 2.5% house edge and $30 bet with $1 vig is 1/31 = 3.2%

    I have a question, if you pay The Vig upfront do you have to keep paying The Vig each time you win? Or do you only have to pay it the one time? So if you buy the 4 for $20 and you pay the vig upfront that's one more dollar, do you have to pay when you win? Or is it after you win and they take The Vig do you have to pay The Vig each time?

    • @ColorUp
