Emma Liston I have a friend planning to join a sorority and it’s not because she’s full of herself or wants to be around other pretty people. She does her research and wants to be in a sorority because she wants to have fun while also work hard in college with other girls. Sure some sororities are terrible but not all of them are and neither are the ones wanting to be in one. Let’s not generalize and judge other women or men.

Some believe that people with disabilities or systems that are immuno compromised deserve to die, and saving them is not their problem.

My exchange student trip to Korea was cancelled as a result of the pandemic, and I was talking to my Korean friends about the conditions over there. They said it feels like no one is really infected, but despite that everyone is taking it just as seriously as the beginning. Concerts, entertainment and fan-signs have been moved fully online. The government provided care packages to the people which included food, masks, sanitation etc. to prevent people buying out stores. Idols (which have huge influence) have been promoting the message, donating and ACTUALLY CARING. If you google "south korea covid" the top articles are about how South Korea is a model of how to stop Covid and other countries should learn from them. The second they got cases, they did EVERYTHING THEY COULD AND TOOK IT SERIOUSLY. They even reopened the country multiple times after they had numerous weeks of no new cases. Maybe it's a cultural difference (I didn't know public health was a foreign concept to some Americans)?? And yeah it sucks that my trip was cancelled, but I'll have more chances to go and most things are just postponing. The faster it ends the faster we can get back to living the lives we were before, but it doesn't just vanish. We actually need to put effort! It's so shocking to see our country is too busy being selfish, skeptical and ignorant about something so serious... I really wish I still lived in Europe lmao We have the ability to get through this. We are such a great and blessed nation, but if we continue down this path, I don't see this ending until summer 2021..

STAY INSIDE for kids trying to go back to school. because some kids have anxiety (like me) and need to meet the teacher in person and would prefer to be in school IN PERSON so nothing goes wrong.

This is endlessly frustrating as someone who is supposed to be living in Italy at the moment (my family moved there late 2019, we moved everything we owned there, and I wasnt able to get a work Visa yet so I went on a travel visa) but can't because of the virus. I literally came back to the US in February with two suitcases containing everything I own and no housing. I want to see my family. The European Union has banned US citizens from entering or exiting the country except for work and school visas. They have only let up restrictions on countries in the union or neighboring countries for example, Croatia. Until we get the damn numbers under control, we SHOULD be banned from entering other countries unless it is for school or work visas. Italy literally made you have paperwork to get groceries and you couldn't leave farther from your house than 200 meters. Stay at home! Everybody, wear a damn mask, stay home, stay 6 feet a part, and stop traveling unless absolutely necessary! I haven't seen anyone in person who was not either stepgrandparents or a professional at work since MARCH. You can fucking do it.

The shear amount of self-centeredness I’ve seen in this country in the form of ordinary people refusing to wear masks or social distance is really disheartening. So many ordinary everyday people who won’t wear a mask bc “it’s restrictive” “it’s not necessary” “Democrats are exaggerating the number.” I know people say “I’ve lost faith in humanity” a lot but this pandemic to be has truly shown me that people in the US at least have no sense of community, no sense of empathy, no sense of responsibility. I always found that funny I went to tons of protests, people would tell you to pull up your mask if it slipped and every single person had disinfectant with them. Some people were even wearing gas masks because of the tear gass.

My exchange student trip to Korea was cancelled as a result of the pandemic, and I was talking to my Korean friends about the conditions over there. They said it feels like no one is really infected, but despite that everyone is taking it just as seriously as the beginning. Concerts, entertainment and fan-signs have been moved fully online. The government provided care packages to the people which included food, masks, sanitation etc. to prevent people buying out stores. Idols (which have huge influence) have been promoting the message, donating and ACTUALLY CARING. If you google "south korea covid" the top articles are about how South Korea is a model of how to stop Covid and other countries should learn from them. The second they got cases, they did EVERYTHING THEY COULD AND TOOK IT SERIOUSLY. They even reopened the country multiple times after they had numerous weeks of no new cases. Maybe it's a cultural difference (I didn't know public health was a foreign concept to some Americans)??
And yeah it sucks that my trip was cancelled, but I'll have more chances to go and most things are just postponing. The faster it ends the faster we can get back to living the lives we were before, but it doesn't just vanish. We actually need to put effort! It's so shocking to see our country is too busy being selfish, skeptical and ignorant about something so serious... I really wish I still lived in Europe lmao

This is endlessly frustrating as someone who is supposed to be living in Italy at the moment (my family moved there late 2019, we moved everything we owned there, and I wasnt able to get a work Visa yet so I went on a travel visa) but can't because of the virus. I literally came back to the US in February with two suitcases containing everything I own and no housing. I want to see my family.
The European Union has banned US citizens from entering or exiting the country except for work and school visas. They have only let up restrictions on countries in the union or neighboring countries for example, Croatia.
Until we get the damn numbers under control, we SHOULD be banned from entering other countries unless it is for school or work visas.

The shear amount of self-centeredness I’ve seen in this country in the form of ordinary people refusing to wear masks or social distance is really disheartening. So many ordinary everyday people who won’t wear a mask bc “it’s restrictive” “it’s not necessary” “Democrats are exaggerating the number.” I know people say “I’ve lost faith in humanity” a lot but this pandemic to be has truly shown me that people in the US at least have no sense of community, no sense of empathy, no sense of responsibility. And this are FULL GROWN adults!!! The healthcare professionals have to constantly remind these ADULTS about the precautions they have to take (stay home, maintain social distance, wear a mask, and so on), yet they still go anf do this 💀

As someone from Florida, thank you for talking about this! I’m so sick of influencers not staying home, and they don’t have any talent. Matt James the next bachelor and Tyler Cameron from the bachelor are in Florida having covid parties. I reposted something about it to my story, I have less than 200 followers and Matt James blocked me. I wasn’t even being rude. I’m so sick of people no social distancing, ugh so frustrating. 😤😤
the crazy thing is ppl will be like “the protests” as some sort of gotcha as if most if not all the protesters are not taking precautions, wearing masks, and OUTSIDE (not to mention doing something IMPORTANT instead of flexing their stupidity like these influencers)
I always found that funny I went to tons of protests, people would tell you to pull up your mask if it slipped and every single person had disinfectant with them. Some people were even wearing gas masks because of the tear gass.

The only people who influence me are youtubers like Amanda and Kenya who actually teach me about social issues from their perspectives so I can implement their experiences into my own activism while simultaneously hearing them drag everyone that I also don't like. The only thing I'm influenced to do when I look at Tana Mongeau is take a shower.
