I'm living in Sanur it's always been my favourite area of Bali because it's nice and quiet, the investment and development happening here is nice in some ways but it's slowly taking away a lot of the charm and peaceful atmosphere that people loved about Sanur, all the little beach warungs are being pushed away to make room for bigger beach restaurants which is a huge shame the beach warungs were my favourite places to go sit and relax.

Sanur has been my favourite area of Bali as it is quiet and has a village feel
I had seen over the years the changes in Seminyak with all the large foreign owned restaurants with international prices. That pushed out the smaller warungs and pushed up prices right through Seminyak. Most bars in Seminyak sell a Bintang for 45k+ or 60k at the Beach clubs. It will happen in Sanur eventually

@@nowgettheretravel6877 Yep, I know quite a few of the little warung owners at Sanur it's actually heartbreaking to talk to them about it, sure the development pulls in more tourists and their money but it also sucks everything away from the little local businesses, the big new hotels and restaurants totally change the spending habits of the visitors that come here. I recently moved back up here from Perth after not being here since covid shut the borders, one of my favourite places to go was the long row of warungs on the beach south of the Sanur beach parking area, but they are all gone now, demolished and removed, Titties Warung was a favourite place to go relax and have something to eat and drink, she's still there trying to make a living but she has to carry any food and drinks down there each morning to try sell, so sad, she's trying to stay optimistic but I think she knows once they start building the new restaurants it's all over. I live up the top end of Sanur near Sindhu which used to be a very village like beach area, during the covid shutdown it's had a huge makeover there are a few little warungs left if you walk further past the new restaurants but once again the restaurants are sucking the life out of them, it creates a kind of awful almost apartheid atmosphere, the warungs are for the local people with little money, and me, I go eat and talk with the locals at warungs I always will.

Thank you for your videos. We can't get back to Bali until January so we love seeing how everything is going. A correction in case people were looking for the Besakih Beach Hotel during your walk; the hotel you first said was Tandjung Sari is the Besakih Beach Hotel which is 3 star and has a combination of rooms and bungalows. Tandjung Sari is next and is a boutique all bungalows resort.

Just love Bali. So much to see and the people are so friendly. Can I recommend a cheaper place to stay? Agung's Annexe, only eight minutes walk from the Sanur beach. Lovely separate bedrooms from the main house. There is air conditioning and lovely gardens with tables and chairs on patios. Breakfast is provided and you are free to come and go as you please. Lot cheaper than hotels but there is no swimming pool, who needs it when you are so near the beach.

Good to see that "our" Gazebo Hotel is open.
And also good that the noisy Artotel next door to Gazebo is now closed.
    Hopefully never to open again

Hello, We’re enjoying your posts around Sanur very much. We had been thinking about the Prime Plaza suites as an option to stay however our concern now is all the development work with Icon etc up that way. Is this the case from what you’ve seen ?
We also had thought of the Grand Palace but that’s on the bypass road which leaves us a distance from the beach. So your beach walk video was helpful in looking for options a bit closer… keep up the good walks..👍

    • @nowgettheretravel6877
      @nowgettheretravel6877  ปีที่แล้ว

I think Prime Plaza would be OK as close to the bypass. All the construction work a little bit further north.
Not much work happening at Icon Bali for now

there are 2 Prime Plazas, both on the Bypass.
The Prime Plaza Hotel is up the northern end up near the Grand Inna.
The Prime Plaza Suites is close to Karang Beach close to the heart of Sanur, but as on the Bypass still a decent walk to get to the beach

There is no way I would pay the price to stay at the Andaz, I totally can not warrant paying prices like that for a bed and shower as that is all I use my room for when in Bali. I spend most my time out and about exploring not in my room. As long as I have a relaxing view, good bed, good air con and a nice clean bathroom I am happy and rarely pay over $100/night for any accommodation. I would also much rather spend less on accom and more with the locals instead of filling some rich guy's pocket who probably lives in China or wherever lol I wi8ll miss not being able to stay at Grand Inna Bali Beach on my next trip, was the best value for money accommodation near the boat harbour and had an amazing buffet breakfast included.

Hi there , I love you uploads , much more informative than others , I wonder if you could answer a question, I'm staying at the Mercure resort in Sept. , I see you've stayed there before , if I were to step out onto the beach in front of the resort would I see the sunrise and possibly mount agung from there ? or do I need to walk further North? hope to hear from you and keep up the great work, Cheers buddy , Simon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Heading your way in February, but where I usually stay, Puri Tempo Doeloe appears not seem to be open, it was a tiny oasis of small wooden houses with a tiny bedroom and bathroom, made of a series of traditional wooden parts (mismatched creaky and wobbley) but delightful. Please does anyone have any ideas for my next visit.x

    • @nowgettheretravel6877

I cant recommend any. I have used many in Sanur and never had a problem with being scammed.
You do need to be careful. Just calculate how much you should get done and count your money carefully after they hand it to you. If there is a problem as them to give you your money back or you will go to the Tourist Police. They will quickly give you your money back
