Yesterday at: 12:20 I was coming home from Irvine airport and I passed on an orange highway Irvine entering to Pamona an Amazon truck almost got me in a bad accident, he or she swerved right with no right lights and started going in in 2 lanes. This is not the first time..... This has happened over 10 times. I don't know exactly what I have in common with them I just know that when I start driving 65 in front of an Amazon truck people in broken down cars come after me yesterday I was followed by a broken down black car with one light on the right driving next to me I think they are truck guards and this guards always play with from along time and one of days i had a pickup from Ontario airport to Bakersfield and in my way back those guards closed the road on me with 3 vans they driving 40 in Free way and closed 3 lines on me for 30 minutes and all the way they playing with me i hope you round them up and take them somewhere else to play I guess they didn't play when they were kids. this is only happened with the Amazon trucks and their guards , no one else do that
Where is that fulfillment center they showed in the video? And it's interesting. Amazon's secret is automation--something few others have on that scale, if any.
If you could, you'd complain at least 5 times why your order stopped moving in section 5G. Besides, I think most of the time it takes to ship your order, it isn't being handled yet because of too high workload. I think it takes just 40-60 minutes from start to finish to actually send your order to the carrier's pick-up zone.
Its crazy to think this company is becoming the wealthiest company of all time and all they do is let other companies sell their products on their website
I thought Amazon would be a better alternative from buying in regular stores but even with a Prime Membership the items are so overpriced and it takes way too long to get to your house I tried it out and it doesn't work for me I don't like Amazon
I watched this video as part of my studying program of getting the ScPro-Level 1 certification, provided by the CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals).
Trust me ITS NOT, i work there and its so stressful , they time you all the time, if you dont scan an item for 10 min you get in trouble, and they pay you 15 per hour🙄
Also if you a picker every hour you have to pick at least 400 items , and take no more than 9 seconds to grab it from the robot, and take 2 seconds to push the box with items and grab another one so pretty much you’re a slave🥴
let's make amazon in a physical store I explain: every store in the world is 1.0 in this store, products almost never change and the owner chose the products it is boring now, there must be a new store 2.0 in this store, products always change and people choose the products there will be via an app on the app, there is a huge catalog, people choose the products that will show up in the store the store is constantly being supplied with the products people choose
Amazing how this video gives the majority of focus to the thousands of robots working in these massive fulfillment centers and hardly a parting view of the human element. I've worked in one of these fulfillment centers a couple years back when our ranks swelled to 6,000 workers during Peak season. It's maddening and unrealistic the pressure they put on all of us in terms of performance and dedication. Then it's equally disheartening to be layed off soon after when the holiday season ends.
Tommy W. if you haven't started yet, it's fine honestly there are so many horror stories about being mistreated and all that but it really is an easy job. Don't be surprised because it is a physically demanding job but after your first 2 weeks you will get used to it. Packing, picking, and stowing all have rate unless you are doing one of the few jobs like water spider or replenishing boxes. Ship doc is the only department that does not have rate but is the most physically demanding, there are also way more jobs in shipdoc that you can do, most people tend to like shipdoc more than any other department because it is less strict and you have more variety in jobs.
John Paul yeah that's where I am, I think. I'm a packer aka "outbound" where after every break I switch between packing boxes or running boxes through a machine that tapes them. First few days really work your legs but I've become a bit used to it now. We're now at having to ship 75,000 boxes, but I am sure they know that won't happen today since we only have 2 diverters pulling the taped and labeled boxes.
Tommy to ANYONE applying to Amazon THAT DOESN'T HAVE A FEAR OF HEIGHTS, I personally recommend you find a job there that involves using something called an "Order Picker" (some call it a Cherry Picker). It's still fairly physically demanding BUT there's MUCH less walking around and even bending your body too much, specifically your back (you can simply raise/lower the machine to a more appropriate height to pick/stow product with ease). Personally, I prefer the picking department, rather than the stow (specifically VNA stowing) because it's infinitely easier to make rate. VNA Stowing has higher demands AND you have to worry about quality (i.e. bin etiquette, overstuffing, blocking & overhang). As for the forklift/Reach Truck jobs... Not going to knock 'em til I try 'em!
Now, Amazon in Italy (my homeland) has been gotten an authorized company about mail service. I can mail a package to a pizza joint from my home. Wow!! 😂
Cyber monday and black friday has been beaten by alibabas 11.11. Big time. Alibaba has more parcels in 1 day than amazons black friday and cyber monday combined...
It won't be long until that workforce is reduced to 1000 employees, then 500... There will always be some humans but robots can automate many of those tasks.
Yeah right .. i replaced an order from AMAZON LLC (not third party ) and they did not ship it for 10 days , after calling & asking if there was a problem Or it was very difficult the cust. service said that she does not know , so i asked to talk with her supervisor after 20mnts waiting between both of them He said that he can not figure out what or where or when !!! 2 days later i got auto message saying that they ship it with UPS & will have it after 3 days !!!! So Fast !!!!
But the fun job I had at another factory before was driving around the factory and storage room loading and unloading trucks. Make robots for dull jobs instead.
Bought some stuff from Amazon. Paid full price to have it shipped to my door. UPS says they "Tried" to deliver. Bullshit! I was there all day. UPS dumps my stuff at the nearest USPO, (12 miles away), and says, "Go and get it." Amazon owes me some money back for their half-assed shipping. Paid full price shipping-I am owed full service shipping! Beware of on-line retailers who use UPS, like Amazon.
