    I prefer going in from the back too, even when cleaning my pistols. The exception's to this rule are my revolvers. I have the G2 of this pistol with the Bill Of Rights engraved on the upper (stock).

    Great demonstration! I know I’m a little late on the video but I just purchased my first gun yesterday from turners outdoorsman, I know they clean it a bit before picking it up , would you recommend I clean it before heading down to the range ?

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, because you don't know how it was handled before you took possession of it. If they claim they cleaned it, you don't know what they used to clean and lube it. So I recommend cleaning every gun you get before you go to the range.

    Just purchased this for my first firearm. Some people say the factory lubrication for the handgun is bad and to clean it right when you buy it. Would you recommend this as well?

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The factory oil is a preservative for the metal parts. So yes, it needs to be clean and lubed with gun oil before you shoot it for the first time.

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it will be fine. Just make sure to clean it thoroughly and put gun oil on it

    What’s the reason for having to clean it before using it? I got mine today an went straight to the gun range gave me no problem.

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It's coated with a preservative oil, not a lubricant. You clean it to remove the preservative oil and add gun lube. Not removing the oil first will cause more wear on the parts.

    Has anyone swapped the guide rod with a Glock 19 stainless steel one I saw they’re interchangeable and nice upgrade over the plastic one there’s only one video and the guy doesn’t say much in his 2 min video

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have not tried swapping the guide rod with a Glock 19, but I am a fan of upgrading to a stainless steel guide rod. It will last a lot longer than the plastic. Which tends to warp.

    You never said what kind of cleaner you sprayed on all the parts.

  • @alanwylie8960
    @alanwylie8960 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interesting how most of these people on these TH-cam videos never disassemble the striker assembly for cleaning, I guess they don't think the striker assembly gets dirty and doesn't need to be cleaned and lightly oiled.

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is a beginners guide. For some people, the removal of the striker is a little too involved. My video for the Walther CCP shows it.

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't recommend putting any oil on the striker or its channel. Just like cleaning a magazine, you don't want any dirt or debris to build up. The striker should be cleaned when you do the more thorough and deep cleaning. Which is only done once or twice a year, depending on how much you shoot.

    What do you mean “nothing Black is ever good?”

    • @reverendguns
      @reverendguns  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you making a joke? Or trying to be offended? The next thing I said was, "Carbon is black, so all of the black needs to be gone." Carbon buildup is a very bad thing for a gun, and you want all of it removed.
