I removed the magazine, then locked the slide back and visually and physically checked the chamber. Why would I continue to rack the slide?

That is a compensator on the pistol. A compensator directs some of the gas pressure upward to help prevent muzzle rise and keep you on target. A muzzle brake directs some gas pressure rear ward to help prevent some recoil.

Does it have carbon, dirt, rust, or dust on it? If yes, clean it.

@@reverendguns took me a huge amount of pressure full body weight leaning onto small screwdriver forcing it out. This was a used model from 2017 that I just bought and has probably never been cleaned.

@CreateandCapture-yv3hx it's possible that it was never cleaned. Was it rusted? I would polish those pins really good before reinstalling. Maybe add a dab of lube.

You have to make sure both tabs of the slide release are pulled completely down.

@@reverendguns i figured it out, i have to have the magazine in place. I am in california, i guess its a CA thing? thats what the guy said at the gun store!

The only thing I can think of that's different for the CA model is that it has a magazine disconnect mechanism. But that shouldn't affect how the gun is taken apart. All it does it make sure that the gun won't fire a round if the magazine is not completely inserted. Which is a handicap when doing a tactical reload. I'm curious to get ahold of one now and look at it lol

I buy everything individually. Like the jags come in a kit of several sizes, but all of this stuff is not included in one kit

I'm really not sure what I'd happening. I would have to look at it. But it sounds like the lock at the back of the slide needs replaced.

I did it once for the video. It would take 10s of thousands of times to cause any real damage

I would just keep it well oiled. The finish absorbs the oil well. I've personally never tried strike hold

Yes you can. Try and stretch it out first

1. It's a cheap, thin piece of plastic that warps in a short time from the heat caused by shooting. Stainless steel will last much longer and provide smoother cycling of the pistol. 2. You failed to read the description of the video for parts information. I did state the name of the part and the company that sells it. I can't talk about or provide links to parts on TH-cam, or I will get strikes on my channel. So I do it on my Rumble channel.

I bought the Trijicon Beretta 92/96 RMR Pistol Mount and Holosun HS407C on Amazon. The process is similar as in this video th-cam.com/video/4fAkQT4miqg/w-d-xo.html I highly recommend you have this plate installed by a professional gunsmith who has a sight pusher for the Beretta 92/96/M9, which i do not have. Installing it like I did in the video was extremely difficult, especially since you have to line up the hole in the plate with the locking block in the slide. How I accomplished it could damage the pistol if not careful. So, I chose not to upload the video for legal reasons.

Are you making a joke? Or trying to be offended? The next thing I said was, "Carbon is black, so all of the black needs to be gone." Carbon buildup is a very bad thing for a gun, and you want all of it removed.

@@reverendguns Of course it is my opinion, and I have been shooting S&W revolvers for over 50 years, long before they started making the crap they turn out now. I will continue to invest in the superior OLD guns.

I've upgraded to using a jag since this video. Using the correct size it will twist with the rifling for you. Gets cleaned out a lot quicker

It's a good gun. Especially if it's your first. My friend who owns the gun in the video absolutely loves it. It was her first pistol. I do highly recommend swapping the guide rod.
