Go to settings
Then apps
Then manage apps
Then click on three dot menu
Now tap on show system app
And find out gallery
Then click storage
Then click on click data
Now tap ok
also clear data off media storage app
And reboot your phone
I hope that this method solve Xiaomi gallery not showing all pictures problem.

Can confirm this fix is working on MIUI version 12.0.21(I use the Redmi Note 9C). I've been losing my mind for over a month trying to fix this, random photos started to go missing from my gallery but would show up in Google's file manager - after doing this I cleared my entire phone's cache, restarted, and everything's back to normal. edit : it still doesnt show photos on the "photos" page of the gallery,only on the "albums" page..also,its still hiding some albums.i can see them with another gallery app..so,either this is not a fix or stupid Miui is supposed to work like this.

This trick worked like a charm. My Gallery wasn't displaying the correct Album structure. I tried this and all album structure started showing up again in my Redmi Gallery. Thank you.

I have a problem where the pictures in my gallery are showing themselves in the correct order by date but when i try and send photos to someone on any app they are all mixed up by date and half of them arent even showing. Yes you sometimes have and i got tired of it so i just use the file manager on the phone the gallery app is ducked

Use a different Gallery app. I installed a different one from Google play and all photos and videos in both internal and SD card shows up
