I still can’t find any free grace channel that deals with Galatians 5:20-21 or Matthew 5:29-30! I know the Lordship advocates love these verses, but why doesn’t anyone else want to go near them? Some scholarship on these verses would be much appreciated! Thank you.
Hey Kris! We have somewhat covered Galatians 5:20-21 in our Galatians series, and I believe it is discussed in one of our earlier videos about “can I lose salvation,” or somewhere like that. Those verses are only stating that the FLESH does not inherit the kingdom of God, but you see in verses 22-23, the SPIRIT does. Your flesh doesn’t go to heaven, but your spirit will (if you have believed in Christ!). We have not covered Matthew 5:29-30 in detail, but it also should be considered in simplicity. We can do a video on this in the future. We could get a community post out too! We aren’t afraid of any passage, but we just do a QnA video once a week haha! Send the question to the email, and we’ll get you a written response on the website too!! - Trent
@@BibleLine Hey, that’s great Trent! So glad to hear that. I’ll check this video out. Sounds like Yankee’s take on it which makes sense! I’m also encouraged to see you’re considering Mt 5: 29-30. Very impressed with your fast response and love for the church! God bless you guys richly!
Go on to read 24 and 25. It says how our flesh was crucified with Jesus and were in the spirit so let's walk in the spirit. Which piggy backs of Trent. I chime in because this verse scared me too
Hey Brother could You please Help clarify Hebrews 10:26 as this verse seems to be taken out of context allot but to simply read it seems scary 😟 Thanks Brother
Hey Gary! There is no need to fear this verse. It is very much taken out of context. The point of the chapter is really to show how Jesus died ONCE, so our sin is paid in full. He doesn’t have to die again. Like in Hebrews 6 they’re putting Christ to an open shame as though he has to die again for sin. The problem with the Hebrews was that they were SAVED, but they were putting themselves back under the law and sacrifices as though Jesus was not enough. Hence 10:26 “there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin.” - this is because Jesus made the full payment for sin. It’s actually a neat promise that EVEN IF we sin willfully, our sin is still paid in full. We need no other sacrifice. The “certain fearful looking for of judgment” is not hellfire condemnation because we have been saved from the wrath of God and condemnation (John 3:36, 5:24). God may very well chasten us (Heb 12:6), or we could miss out on rewards as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 3:10-16. This is not a verse indicating that you can lose salvation if you sin willfully. It really does not fit the context, nor does it say that. I have a question pastor. What are your thoughts when someone says that Christian’s don’t have to keep the ceremonial, ritualistic laws, but Christian’s still have to keep the royal law
There were many laws specifically instituted to Israel, Priests, Rulers and so on. Many of the laws served a specific purpose. A big thing that few like to point out is the fact that God still took issue with sin before the law. Murder was still wrong before the law came. An example of certain “ceremonial law” that we wouldn’t keep today is that of pork and certain foods. This is shown in 1 Corinthians. The law’s main purpose was to point us to Christ, to show us that we fail to attain to God’s righteousness. This is why Jesus is the fulfillment of the law! Hope this helps some. We may make an in depth video on this topic. - Trent

Titus 2:11 clearly shows us that we should “live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.” We agree that this is not for salvation, but it is to be done to reach more people and be rewarded when we stand before God. 1 Corinthians 3:10-16 shows us that we will be rewarded for what we do. See also 2 Corinthians 5 and James 2:13. James also makes it clear that works are profitable to others. Works don’t save us, but they are necessary to reach others. If I don’t study the scripture, pray or ever share the gospel, then I am ineffective for the sake of Jesus Christ and the gospel. God does work in us through the Spirit, but we have to put forth effort and show good works to reach others. None of this is automatic. See also Titus 3:8. - Trent
@@brohuggie2978 Trent did use scripture. And the quickest way to see where we are not seeing eye-to-eye is do you believe works play a role in salvation in any way or that you need it to prove you are a Christian?
