I just made the peanut butter noodle and my sauce wasn't as runny as yours 😅 Maybe it's because I used a peanut butter with out sugar and it was more dense 🤔
Just bought the book. Can't wait. I remember my time in Korea fondly, but my wife says, "What's in this?" if I use enough black pepper for something to be interesting. You ain't seen nothing yet, honey. I bought gochugang a couple of days ago. Thanks for the great videos!
Haha, sounds like your wife is in for a flavor adventure! 🤞 Thank you so much for getting the cookbook. Hope it brings back some great memories for you! 😍
Whatever Aaron makes is great. I'd like to see him make something that Claire doesn't like just ONE time to prank her and see how she reacts (but I don't want Aaron to get into trouble)
The peanut butter noodle recipe is sooooo good and so easy to make! I just made it for my family a few days ago and my mother is already asking me to come over and make it for her as well. (And it is amazing for hangovers, too!)
Happens everytime, I watch the first recipe, think I'm lazy BUT THE SECOND Claire tries it and begins to describe it, my mouth waters and I have the urge to write every step down. Peanut butter noodles, definitely my favourite to try!!
Side note: In Canada Mirin doesn't contain alcohol since they will not be able to sell it at the grocery store otherwise. That is great if you have children or cannot consume alcohol.
My even lazier version of Aaron's lazy version of the peanut butter noodles involves using crunchy peanut butter (no need to grind peanuts separately) and just grating the garlic (no need to peel). I also toss my dripping noodles into a bowl with the sauce mixture (no need to add pasta water separately). Apple also works in place of cucumber!
When in doubt, add green onion! I also love it...and garlic. They are two of my favorite flavors. These recipes look amazing and I can't wait to try them! I just ordered your book too :)
Loving all these recipes. Do you have a recipe for banana blossom salad. Had this last night and it was amazing. I just know you would be able to create an easy recipe for it. Many thanks and still waiting for your second book.😊
Thank you so much! So glad to hear you're loving the recipes. I've also heard great things about banana blossom salad, but it's hard to find that ingredient here.🥲 I'll definitely keep it in mind, though, and see if I can come up with a similar dish that's easy to make! And I appreciate your patience for the second book. We'll keep you posted when there's any news! 🙌
Oh I’ll have to try these. I’m making dakgalbi (your recipe of course) so maybe another day. Do you have a recipe for 김치찌개? I tried it once and really liked it
I have a kiddo who can barely take spicy of any kind. Do you have any suggestions for when chili oil is in the ingredient list? (Other than just not adding?)
I've been off travelling for a couple of months so haven't seen one of your videos for ages - it was great to hear your classic "Hello from Seoul" again. That being said, I'm not loving the musical intro - is this a new thing now? Thankfully it's not exactly hard to skip, so DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.
Welcome back from your travels! 😍 Thanks for the feedback on the musical intro. It's not a new thing, but I totally get that it's not everyone's cup of tea. No worries at all and thanks for letting me know! Hope you enjoy the rest of the content!
Aaron - I love your recipes and I totally agree: more green onion = more delicious. But how do you successfully clean green onions to remove all the dirt inside the tubes? Our UK green onions are almost impossible to clean completely without splitting them open at the branch and cleaning well inside - can you suggest an easier way?
I really like chili garlic sauce. To make my peanut sauce, I just add peanut butter butter to my chili garlic sauce. It'd not homemade but it is delicious
Hi my family like your recipes..I use to cook for them .. on the last dish peppercorn flavored oil is must.. because I hardly use this.. n no point just get n only cook one dish
omg you had to post this again so I go make those peanut butter noodles at 9 o clock at night.....thanks.....:) really tho, thanks LOL I forgot to eat!
They're junghwa myeon (중화면) or jjajangmyeon noodles. You can usually find them in the frozen section of Korean grocery stores. If you can't find them, no worries! Any Asian wheat noodles or even spaghetti will work just fine in this dish!
Just wanted to say that there are people with a gene that makes cilantro (and jasmine, anything with aldehydes) taste like soap. I’ve been told cilantro has a grassy flavor, but I have to take their word for it because all I can taste is dish soap. I wish it was different, I can eat foods either cilantro but the flavor is very distracting and takes away from any dish I eat.
Actually when I tried the peanut butter recipe, the chili oil did nothing at all. I even added more like 2tbsp and it was still not spicy. could be the peanut butter.
I respect this guy for replacing cilantro with cucumber. They don't really seem like substitutes to me, but it is still a good idea to replace cilantro with anything. In fact, any youtube chef who posts recipes with cilantro ought to be banned from youtube.
Aaron dear, if you put scallions in one more item, I will go daft. PLEASE replace it with something else PLEASE. Try making something without scallions/green onions. Can you?

Aaron and Clare... single-handedly propping up the green onion market 😁

You had me at “peanut butter” and “spicy.” ❤
Right? They are such a winning combo! Hope you enjoy trying out the recipe.😍

Looks delicious and I am so happy I see you on my TH-cam again!😊
Those peanut butter noodles look amazing! 😋 AND I love the cookbook!
They are.
I make a version of the peanut butter noodles, but use tahini in place of the pb. It’s one of my favorite!
Sesame paste is life, thank you Claire 😅

Where can I get those thin, tasty looking noodles in the last recipe? That dish looks soooo good!
100% chance I’m making those peanut butter noodles tomorrow.

I keep a tight budget, but I will admit Costco has some good stuff.
"Aaron, I don't have a wok, I can't do this" 😂😂 so good
💜💜💜💜💜
What was the noodle type in the first recipe? Looked awesome.
I thought is was Yyayangmyan
@@martijnbuunk No results on google for that

@@AaronandClaire Thanks bro! (or sis, if Claire is running the comments section)
❤❤❤
No Gochujang? Use concentrated tomato paste plus chili sauce.
Can you make more sauce and keep it refrigerated then use it later?
Yes, you can! No problem at all! 😍
I love that Aaron finally said to Never use olive oil in Asian cooking. Take that, Jamie Olive Oil!
😂😂😂😂😂 I am dead!
Some one gave me Hot Spicey Cajun peanuts. I am going to make this tonight.
✨👌
I can't imagine Claire being a hangry bird! She always has a smile from ear to ear and she's so happy and excited to eat the delicious food!
I guess I know what I’m doing for Labor Day Weekend… 🤔
Maybe he should have added the spices to the onion oil
What do you do with all those cooked onions? Throw them away?
🤷🏼♀️Salad toppings?
Silly question, maybe, but is the book in English? :)
It is
Not a silly question at all! Yes, the book is written in English! :)

Nevermind... Second recipe he recommends cilantro. That's a cardinal sin! He should not be allowed to cook! XD
Pean..... s (beepppppp.....) 😅😅😅
"Don't use olive oil in Asian cooking." I am so sorry, Aaron. I will rectify this before I try these recipes and buy a different cooking oil.

The N word she said is spelled neagga. It means, you

Haha, telling a Korean to stop using scallions is like telling a French to stop using butter. 😂
