No, I'm not gone yet. I don't plan on throwing in the towel either. However, sometimes creative people have an energy problem. And then they take a break.
I've been thinking for a long time over the last few days about how I'll return to you after the break. To be honest, I find it extremely difficult to make a decision due to all the devices that have accumulated here over the last few years and to be honest, I don't like it.
So the first big takeaway from the break is: I'm going to reduce my devices.
In what form and to what extent I don't yet know. But, and I'll say this very clearly, I used to have so few opportunities to simply jam or explore my devices. Today that is no longer the case. Especially when I moved into the caravan, it became more difficult to motivate myself to set everything up and then take it down again. That takes an enormous amount of energy.
I realized that I have become a collector and I don't want to be that. I want to go back to a limited number of small devices and I'm going to tackle that now.
You can be sure that the Volcas and the MicroFreaks are not affected. No fear. I'll definitely keep you updated as I sort out devices.
After this realization, it wasn't that difficult for me to decide what the first jam after my break should look like.
It's my good old friend the Volca Bass.
There's certainly a lot to criticize about this jam and I'm of course open to it, you know that. But I still decided to share this jam with you now, because it describes very precisely the dilemma I've been in over the last few weeks and, above all, that towards the end of the jam you can hear more clarity and structure and that is the crucial thing.

Most of the Time I am using the Specular Reverb v3 for my jams.
Sometimes the NTS-1 with the Cathedral Preset or just the iPad. - เพลง
Uhhhhhh thats really hard but I think it's the melodic sound of Handmade Synergy that I love most in this jam ....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wtf. like W.T.F. Wow. You did here more music with 1 mono bass synth and reverb than most of people do with super expensive pile of grooveboxes ... huge mad respect !
🙏🎧🎶🎵
You are really so good with the Volca Bass.
I hace the same but impossible to use it like this, you turn it in a stratospheric vessel.
Awesome&beautiful !!!
Thanks mate. Appreciate your feedback. It's all about learning the instrument believe me
Wow! This is so wonderful and inspiring. Keep it up. :)
Nice job
Always loved the sound of this brilliant little powerhouse.
Love it, thank you so much for sharing.
Your welcome mate 😊🙏
It is almost my birthday. I consider this jam as a bonus gift. Thank you, and welcome back Holger.
Oh .. happy birthday dear Rayder. I hope you have a great time with your loved once. Wishing you healthiness and a ton of good Ideas for your music.
Everytime I touch the Korg I can jam for an hour. Love these machines for creating
He did it again
Awsome! I can't get it how handy you are.
Uhhhh thank you my friend.
Nice to hear from you again! Beautiful sounds! I hope you find the right balance of synths to keep and synths to sell. Even with just the volcas and microfreaks, you have the tools to share your “voice”.
Hey my dear friend. You are absolutely right ... Let's see what I keep...
Wow ;-) You know what you Do !!!!
Yeah, seems so...
Brutal 💪🙏
Ahh i love this sh❤
Retorno por todo lo alto, sigue así

> So the first big takeaway from the break is: I'm going to reduce my devices.
I sympathize with you from the bottom of my heart.
Woa that Specular reverb is definitely serving it's purpose. Well done!
ohhhhhhh yes .... oh yes
Wooo!
Woooo oooo
Less is more. Love these jams. You've inspired me :)
Welcome back H 🤘
Hey my friend. Nice to see you here. Hope you enjoyed the trip.
I always do, hope you’re doing well bro.
Thank you for sharing this. It's nice to listen to while I do work, since I can't play with synthesizers while I'm working. The Volca's pushbuttons have frustrated me with becoming less responsive over time, but somehow it's still fun.
Yes... Absolutely.. my first vbass has this problem with the FUNC Button..
What?
I have come to the same realisation. Too much choice inhibits creativity.
It sounds very similar to the soundtrack of Fulci's 'Zombie Flesheaters'.
Lovely jam if your Bass broke would you by another one?👌☮️
I have a second one and yes ... I will always have at least one volca bass !
@@Volcaniced Good man,
I'm thinking of acquiring my 1st 👍
Puede que os guste mi música.Estoy en todas las plataformas digitales como FLUX VIBES.
Loving all vids, question: do you think adding Behringer reverb DG600 for my Bass would be a good addition
Thanks Tim
Its Always a good decision to add a reverb in a Setup. No Matter what synth you use. I have nö Experience with the Behringer reverb. So maybe you can find some Sound examples in TH-cam.
@@Volcaniced many thanks, will give it a go.
💕🎶🎛🎶💕💪😎💪👍❤️
Huge welcome back Holger. I thought you had been arrested.
Great jam.
I really appreciate single synth jams because then we can appreciate that its just that unit doing the work.
Well I suppose you have something to do with it too!
What model is your Specular reverb?
Thanx Peter. Its good to be back. Its the Specular Reverb v3 I am working with
Do you improvise all this as your playing? Or is it arranged? I cant tell. I want to the same type of thing but i cant wrap my head around it
Sounds so awesome btw
Yes, all improvised. I start completely empty.
@@Volcaniced thank you for replying. Im sure you're very busy. I cannot figure out how to start these kinds of jams to start a sequence and then play with it and then start to change it while playing it. Do you change to different sequence patterns? I can't understand and im trying to figure this out. How did you start figuring this stuff out. I'm feeling discouraged but I won't give up. Thank you for any input.
Please do not give up.
You have to be aware that Holger is extremely experienced and an expert at this.
There are hundreds of hours gone into studying how to do this.
Start off very simple. If you have a volca get the Tony Horgan volca book for the model you have. Read read read. Watch basics you tubes.
Take it slowly!
Hope that helps.
Btw....I don't know how he does it either.....thats the whole point!!!!
@@petercane6376 I appreciate the reply. Thank you for the advice.
