Well done on the video. For a extra layer of safety when using a strap to get unstuck I would not use a strap with hooks and have something like a old heavy carpet to lay on top of the strap in case it breaks just suck up the energy to keep it from coming back at you at Mach Five speeds. I have seen a strap with a hook blow through a rear hatch and seat back like it was nothing.
Good Job on the video, very well put together! Most people don't know how hard it is to produce these things...
Yeah I know it's insane what some people can put out... I don't have the hardware or the time to refine my video. Im sure having the right tools for the job would help. I Just been cobbling things together and hoping. But you are on another level! Keep it up, might pay off eventually.

Heck, I'm only half kidding. Winches and Highlifts and exhaust jacks and what have you are great, but the more "emergency use only" stuff you carry around, the more time you have to spend testing it, to make sure it works should you really need it. Until you find yourself spending a hundred times more hours testing and maintaining equipment, than using it. Much nicer to be able to use something you use every day, and thus know works when you need it, for emergencies as well.

Pull up on the break lock and push on the break pedal till it clicks on time, now the diff is locked on the back end. My sales guy told me that trick when I bought my plow for mine.
That doesn't work for me, once it clicks the brake is engaged, and I don't need to push the pedal that much before the diff lock engaged

Did I understand correctly that your tractor does not have a differential lock that you engage with your left heel? Good tips on freeing a stuck tractor👍
Yup! I have 4wd i can engage with the heel. On my year of tractor it was an optional extra i didnt know about. I have though about making my own but havent had the time
@@LazyBrookFarm Can't you use the "parking brake" lever by the FEL joystick to lock the brake after you've depressed it a couple of inches?
I can’t believe Yanmar does not have the simple left foot differential lock their set up is very awkward, The other issue I see is the proprietary locking system on their buckets I don’t know why they didn’t just go with the standard skid steer Quick attach system there’s so much of those attachments out there other than that I really like Yanmar equipment my brother has a couple Yanmar excavators that just keep running
They do! I just don't have that option on my tractor. I have heard they made it standard shortly after I bought mine. It was an optional extra.
Yanmar went with their own attachment method because it allowed them to get the bucket a lot closer to the pivot point of the bucket increasing the lifting capacity quite a lot. Yanmar did a lot of these little changes to make this line so much more powerful than any other tractor in this size.
@@LazyBrookFarm that’s a really sweet tractor so The differential lock is standard now? But the proprietary locking system is still the same on the bucket thanks
What's the worst thing you have hit with the snowplow? Everyone who uses one eventually hits something accidentally. Thanks for sharing.
I think the worst was the fire extinguisher hanging from the wall my garage! Broke the mount, but everything else was fine!

I have a 324 but my diff lock is a heel pedal on the left side
I heard they started including it on all of them instead of as an extra, but i had not heard of the heel pedal, is it next to the 4wd pedal?

Mark, I was wondering if you could give some insight on why you choose the Yanmar over other brands? I'm looking at the 424 Yanmar compared to a Kubota B2301TLB. What features sold you on the Yanmar? Thanks for any opinion, Mark, York PA.
I agree with you on the specs, the Yanmar 424 comapres closer to Kubotas smaller B tractors. My biggest hang up with the Yanmar is it not having the Bobcat Quick attach loader, may have to look into doing some modifications and I believe the Backhoe is a tad bigger on the Kubota. Appreciate your feed back and thanks for doing the video, Yanmar doesn't provide much info on their website, I wanted to see how the backhoe hooked up and removed, Thanks!

@@mrlawn4752 I think it was a Messick's video where I saw why some don't use SSQA. It does two things that reduce overall loader capacity. It moves the load further forward by a few to several inches; and it adds a fair amount of weight just in itself.
What kind of snow blade do you have? Is it a hydraulic angle blade?
This was custom made by SilverLake Fab in New Hampshire. I don't think he is doing plow blades anymore, but he does sell the yanmar quick attacks brackets that could be welded to something else.
Great video! Noticed you have a 3 point hydraulic splitter. I'm curious, are you running that off the backhoe lines or did you get a rear remote installed? I may have a splitter in my future...
Lazy Brook Farm Very cool. 19" would probably work fine for me, any more than that and I can't get it into the woodstove anyway! Nice to hear it runs fine off the BH lines.
How do you like the 324? I'm looking at the 424 for the oversized tires but the tractors are identical. Have you had any problems with it?. I've heard nothing but good things about Yanmar.
No problems at all, and i beat the heck out of it.. I have a lot of large boulders, i guess some i have pushed and rolled are over 2klbs, and the tractor just keeps going! Only issues i have every had, is traction in the snow, and diesel gelling up.

trying to get the size. how tall are you? how much taller are tires on 424? why you pick 324? the yanmar seems to crush the competition in the subcompact line.are they MUCH beefier? looks it is that 2000 lbs?great vid
I am 5'7" . But I agree, You get a lot more for your money with Yanmar in the Subcompact range! The 424 has 24 inch rear tires and 14 inch front compared to the 23 and 12 for the 324. I believe that is the only real difference. The clearence is really good even with the slightly smaller tires. I have driven over downed trees and large rocks without any problems!
The weight is about 1700lbs without the FEL or Backhoe, So I expect I am a little over 3k lbs with FEL, Backhoe and tire ballast.
What size blade did you use on the tire grooves? Thanks!
