Hey Dave funny story. So back in 86 I was at a record store and I saw a display with an album that had 4 girls on it. Glanced at it and said humm some of those girls are kinda hot. So I guess subconsciously I remembered the band being called Poison. Then a few weeks later my friend who had MTV ( I didn’t) said hey I saw this cool looking new band on MTV called Poison. I said “Poison? Oh ya a girl band there pretty hot looking.” He said no they are guys that kinda look like girls. I was like wtf?? So I didn’t like the music much really but my friend was all into them. So in 86 they came as a warmup for Ratt and had an in store and my friend had to work and couldn’t go. He asked me to take his album and get it signed. So I took a girl was a friend of mine with me so well it looked like she wanted to be there not me. 😁Anyway when they came in they looked just like guys off the street. No wild teased hair, no makeup, no crazy looking clothes. Just dudes that looked and acted wasted. When Bret saw my friend (who was pretty hot) asked her name. He was all into her asked if she was going to the show. She HATED Poison. So he said he would have a ticket and pass for her at the willcall window with her name on it. He then pulled her in and kissed her cheek. She said can I get two one for my friend (pointing at me). Bret said he could only get one but was REALLY looking forward to seeing her tonight. 🙄🤔 I wonder why? So eventually I softened my feelings about them when Open Up came out. I also saw them open for DLR in 88. Yes people who have not seen Poison live are missing out on a big time fun party. Seen them 4 or 5 times and always Nothin But A Good Time! Btw I highly recommend you checking out the album Native Tongue. You won’t be disappointed
Used to play in an Poison Band here in Germany. We stopped somewhen because we don't get booked. Just because Poison was never big here. I would even say in all of Europe.
I like I won't forget you. In fact I learned it on acoustic guitar.
