Naruto realised this was wrong and wanted to help everyone as much as he could. Other people along the way (Gaara, Sasuke, Pain, jiraiya, finally Obito) all added to his philosophy and helped him confront the flaws within it.

No matter how many times I see this episode (I’ve been rewatching the series for almost 2 decades now). No matter how many times I see it, I still get watery eyes when I see Jiraiya die. It’s like I actually lost a mentor in real life. It’s so strange how we can connect to people that we know don’t exist, but they somehow exist in our hearts based on our connection to a show/anime.
That's the funny thing in life, those who believe they have failed, like Jiraiya.. may have done a deed or will accomplish something they never realize. Like how he sent Natuto don't the right path. Never give up, never let your past failures define your future.

When a 3 minutes audio give you goosebumps more than 10 times it hits different when I remember the death of jiraya while listening to this audio. Love Naruto and his master jiraya. Naruto is the best anime of all time and that's for sure.
If there is one thing Kishimoto is good at, its writing tragedy and self sacrifice on their emotional peaks. Been getting that right since the first episode and the anime making you feel since the first named arc where threat of death almost hit the prodigy of the trio.
I'm all down for watching sub when I need to, but something about hearing and knowing the words they're speaking helps me to connect more with just about every anime. I really wish I woulda watched this dubbed, hearing and understanding his words makes it hit so much harder.
Even though it is an anime, it gives us that feeling of joy, sadness and curiosity, the key things you need in life to make you glad that you chose that path to follow, we will live with regrets so live your life to the fullest and be glad that you lived surrounded by the people you have met.
The greatest accomplishment of the Third Hokage, despite us never seeing him acknowledge it, was training Jiraiya. Jiraiya shaped the future of the world, and his ideals and dreams were passed down to all his students. Even at the very very end, the road he walked continued. The saddest thing, I think, of this show was how many people died believing they had failed at their Great Task. Jiraiya, for all his life, trained splendid Shinobi, who all perished. As somebody who believed he'd teach the Shinobi Messiah, he fell believing Nagato would wrought great turmoil and woe, and that he'd failed the world. The Third fell, regretting Orochimaru rather than feeling pride in his greatest student. How sad that the greatest teachers felt like the greatest failures.
Jiraiya is really underrated. Most of the fans only love badass and cool characters like Itachi,Madara,Naruto etc, but acc to me he has the perfect character with the best death.

No matter how many times I see this episode (I’ve been rewatching the series for almost 2 decades now). No matter how many times I see it, I still get watery eyes when I see Jiraiya die. It’s like I actually lost a mentor in real life. It’s so strange how we can connect to people that we know don’t exist, but they somehow exist in our hearts based on our connection to a show/anime.

Legitimately remember crying when I saw this for the first time back in 2012 when I bought the box set.
It’s hard to put in words but watching this him being one of my favorite characters as well and listening to him paint himself as a failure is so frustrating I want to jump through the screen and be like “no we all love you and what you’ve done for naruto”!

Jiraiya died feeling his life was a failure. If only he could see what became of Naruto, and how he changed the world. I wish he could have seen it. The look on his face as he is released from all his pain knowing he didn't fail this time would have been amazing to see.
He didn't die feeling his life was a failure. He died feeling that his true win in life was training Naruto. In the end he left Naruto with his will and hope that things will change. He wholeheartedly believed in Naruto and that Naruto was his one win. He died gloriously because he acquired glory in raising Naruto.

Naruto is the best anime of all time and that's for sure.
If there is one thing Kishimoto is good at, its writing tragedy and self sacrifice on their emotional peaks. Been getting that right since the first episode and the anime making you feel since the first named arc where threat of death almost hit the prodigy of the trio.
I'm all down for watching sub when I need to, but something about hearing and knowing the words they're speaking helps me to connect more with just about every anime. I really wish I woulda watched this dubbed, hearing and understanding his words makes it hit so much harder.

This is the 4th time i am watching this video.
Even though it is an anime, it gives us that feeling of joy, sadness and curiosity, the key things you need in life to make you glad that you chose that path to follow, we will live with regrets so live your life to the fullest and be glad that you lived surrounded by the people you have met.

The greatest accomplishment of the Third Hokage, despite us never seeing him acknowledge it, was training Jiraiya.
Jiraiya shaped the future of the world, and his ideals and dreams were passed down to all his students.
Even at the very very end, the road he walked continued. The saddest thing, I think, of this show was how many people died believing they had failed at their Great Task.
Jiraiya, for all his life, trained splendid Shinobi, who all perished. As somebody who believed he'd teach the Shinobi Messiah, he fell believing Nagato would wrought great turmoil and woe, and that he'd failed the world.
The Third fell, regretting Orochimaru rather than feeling pride in his greatest student.
How sad that the greatest teachers felt like the greatest failures.
