Hey Jay - I have been watching your videos for sometime now. And, went to attempt the exam after watching this one on Essays and got 90 in writing. :) Got 89 in Listening, 84 in reading (I missed answering all multiple choice single answer questions), 83 in speaking. I have two questions : 1- What are the types of writing questions in PTE? are all of them are agree/disagree questions? 2- I have heard from one of the IELTS tutors that try to write up to 300 words in the writing task 2 to increase your chance of getting the 7.5 or 8. That is not because of the number of words, it is to help you or give you a space to write a perfect essays with linked ideas and better coherence. I might agree with him, so is that applied to the PTE essays?
PTE writing tasks are all in academic context, which need you to write for a purpose (to learn, to inform, to persuade), also to support an opinion with details, examples, and explanations. For PTE essays, you will lose mark if you exceed 300 words limit.

Hey Jay, could you please judge this my essay on sugar consumption should restrict by parents, side? It is not good to be diabetes and obesity victims due to consumption of sugar by children. Sugar consumption always must be in controlled and limited by parents to take care and make children healthier. Therefore, parents should restrict sugar consumption for their children. Sugar consumption causes overweight or fatness by increasing glucose in body. Obesity causes laziness and roughness in children which is serious issue in childhood. Also, it causes diabetes which is the most difficult disease for treatment in the world. once anyone get infected by sugar, that one might be sugar patience life time. Hence, sugar consumption must be controlled to maintain good health condition. Over consumption of sugar also increases additional expenses that causes burden to family. Sometimes there might rise conflict in family due to insufficiency of income. So, it is better to limit the sugar consumption that helps to make harmonious relationship among all and maintain economic status. Due to sugar induced diseases, children fitness get affects. Kids may not brisk due to obesity. Children always become under pressure of health problem and couldn't achieve expected goal. This causes lack of contribution to family, society and whole country. If source is cleaned then rest of the all chain will be cleaned. Hence, optimum level of sugar is best for children which can be achieved by supervision of parents. I have confusion in write an essay in PTE. In argumentative essay if I am agreeing something in conclusion , Should I write about some agreement (80% in para 2 ) and disagreement (only 20 % in para 3) or as per jay said must write both para 2&3 on agreement(i.e.100%)? Moreover, As per Jay should I Stick to both what why why strategy? there will be only one sentenced paragraph . what about sub factors or other factors?
It is a well-known fact that sugar is a leading cause of childhood obesity and diabetes. Many parents do not have any restrictions on their child's intake of sugar, whereas some parents are rather strict and place restrictions on the amount of sugar their children can consume. This essay will be discussing why sugar restrictions for children is a good practice. The main reason why parents should restrict the amount of sugar their children consume is for sake of their health. Children must have a properly balanced diet consisting of whole and healthy foods. This provides them with the necessary nutrients to grow and perform. With restrictions in place, parents are able to ensure that their children are having a balanced intake of whole foods and sugary treats. Additionally, excessive consumption of sugar can lead to negative impacts on the mood and behaviour of children. This may lead to behavioural habits such as laziness after consuming excess sugar and is not a good habit to build on at such a young age. For example, when I have sugary candy, I feel lazy, unproductive, and inactive. Therefore, parents should be in control of their children's sugar consumption to avoid any negative impacts on their mood and behaviour. In conclusion, children's consumption of sugar should be monitored by their parents. This is to promote a healthy balance of nutrition and an avoidance of unhealthy behavioural habits caused by sugar. In my opinion, having restrictions is a good practice.

Hello Sameer, for your introduction paragraph, there should be three part: 1. background statement/s about the topic (1 or 2 sentences); 2. rewrite the question (1 or 2 sentences); and 3. tell the reader what you will tell them and your opinion (1 or 2 sentences). Hope it helps!
hey jay could you please correct me if i am wrong. in the first essay about the cigarette company and government.that you have agreed with the government which believe that adults should smoke. so that you have to elaborate about adults can smoke cigarette they are mature they can take good decision. not about the growing bodies and children should not smoke cigarette. if you are disagree with the cigarette company in this you have to mention about the children should not smoke cigarette because it is not good for health and society . thank you

I am done with my PTE exam and got overall 73 score.Listening: 70Reading:-74Writing:- 75Speaking 81.I am happy with the attempt,but still looking to cross 79 plus in every section.I know that I struggled with time management in Reading and will be improving on that.I got one doubt regarding the writing part. In the enabling skills, I got 50 for 'spelling' and 51 for 'writing discourse'.I am aware that there was an issue with the keyboard keys which hampered my spellings score. Will be improving on this for sure.But, I am not sure about 'Writing discourse' and how to improve on it.!!! Could you please update us on that as well?

Please review the essay presented in the video at 25:00 mins: Topic:Ultra violent sports such as UFC are extremely polarizing. Some people believe they should be banned outright because they promote violence while others think they actually provide a safe arena to express natural human aggression. Essay: Lately virtual reality and ultra violent sports have become very popular among children. Few sports such as UFC has detrimental polarizing affect on kids brain. While some people are in favour of such sports, others believe that it should be banned. This essay will discuss various reasons why ultra violent sports are harmful in growth of children. Ultra violent sports promotes a rage or violent streak in children. This rage affects the development of brain draws them into violence. Research shows that children of age 12-15 are most likely to get violent nature and bully other students in schools and academic setup. Its also observed that children shows extreme inclination to violence, ill-manner and bad nature at home and misbehave with parents and their elders. Such violent sports makes them forget difference between virtual world and reality and influences their mind negatively which is bad for their upbringing and nurturing family values. It can be concluded that its most favourable to ban such sport which hampers good upbringing of children and influences to shape up a better future for their children. After all, its parents who are responsible for the deeds of their children and they best know what is good and bad for their upbringing.

Sugar is one of the primary causes for obesity and diabetes in children. Parents giiving unlimited sugar based food to kids can affect their heaalth and appetite. It can make the kids hyper and make themlose interest in having balanced nutritious meals.This can result in an all day craving for sugar laden foods. Cutting off sugar completely from the diet is not the advisable thing to do. Sugar is needed for the body but in the right proportions. To conclude, anything in ration and within limits is good for the body.

In your intro paragraph, you should state your opinion that you agree with both sides. Then you should give reasons and evidence why you think so in the following paragraphs.

It's not necessarily about advantages vs. disadvantages. It's more about whether you agree or disagree and reasons WHY? Think about it like that.

For example, when I have sugary candy, I feel lazy, unproductive, and inactive. Therefore, parents should be in control of their children's sugar consumption to avoid any negative impacts on their mood and behaviour.
In conclusion, children's consumption of sugar should be monitored by their parents. This is to promote a healthy balance of nutrition and an avoidance of unhealthy behavioural habits caused by sugar. In my opinion, having restrictions is a good practice.
But while writing, should I address the topic with "I think" or "I agree"?
'I agree' would be better in academic writing than 'I think'
I am sorry, I have known that first person cannot be mentioned in PTE academic, so I have been using the term "It can be agreed that..."
Maddy, usage of the first person is allowed in PTE Academic when you are expressing your stand (I agree/I disagree) and when you are asked to write personal experience/example.

Hello Sameer, for your introduction paragraph, there should be three part: 1. background statement/s about the topic (1 or 2 sentences); 2. rewrite the question (1 or 2 sentences); and 3. tell the reader what you will tell them and your opinion (1 or 2 sentences).

in the first essay about the cigarette company and government.that you have agreed with the government which believe that adults should smoke. so that you have to elaborate about adults can smoke cigarette they are mature they can take good decision. not about the growing bodies and children should not smoke cigarette.
if you are disagree with the cigarette company in this you have to mention about the children should not smoke cigarette because it is not good for health and society .

I am done with my PTE exam and got overall 73 score.Listening: 70Reading:-74Writing:- 75Speaking 81.I am happy with the attempt,but still looking to cross 79 plus in every section.I know that I struggled with time management in Reading and will be improving on that.I got one doubt regarding the writing part. In the enabling skills, I got 50 for 'spelling' and 51 for 'writing discourse'.I am aware that there was an issue with the keyboard keys which hampered my spellings score. Will be improving on this for sure.But, I am not sure about 'Writing discourse' and how to improve on it.!!! Could you please update us on that as well?

Topic:Ultra violent sports such as UFC are extremely polarizing. Some people believe they should be banned outright because they promote violence while others think they actually provide a safe arena to express natural human aggression.
Essay:
Lately virtual reality and ultra violent sports have become very popular among children.
Few sports such as UFC has detrimental polarizing affect on kids brain. While some people are in favour of such sports, others believe that it should be banned. This essay will discuss various reasons why ultra violent sports are harmful in growth of children.
Ultra violent sports promotes a rage or violent streak in children. This rage affects the development of brain draws them into violence. Research shows that children of age 12-15 are most likely to get violent nature and bully other students in schools and academic setup.
Its also observed that children shows extreme inclination to violence, ill-manner and bad nature at home and misbehave with parents and their elders. Such violent sports makes them forget difference between virtual world and reality and influences their mind negatively which is bad for their upbringing and nurturing family values.
It can be concluded that its most favourable to ban such sport which hampers good upbringing of children and influences to shape up a better future for their children. After all, its parents who are responsible for the deeds of their children and they best know what is good and bad for their upbringing.
Will this strategy will work for all essays in PTE? Or is there any other strategy to handle different question that will come in PTE essay task.?

Sugar is one of the primary causes for obesity and diabetes in children.
Parents giiving unlimited sugar based food to kids can affect their heaalth
and appetite. It can make the kids hyper and make themlose interest in
having balanced nutritious meals.This can result in an all day craving
for sugar laden foods.
Cutting off sugar completely from the diet is not the advisable thing to do.
Sugar is needed for the body but in the right proportions.
To conclude, anything in ration and within limits is good for the body.
Do you provide mentor-ship and training for PTE General also.

In your intro paragraph, you should state your opinion that you agree with both sides. Then you should give reasons and evidence why you think so in the following paragraphs.
