What it cost me to own my 2000 Jaguar XJR over 30k miles and almost 3 years of ownership. The results may surprise you.

1997 the true final edition of the XJ
X306 is better but you’re close here
Car used for a bank robbery - couldn't have said it better myself!
what I love about jag styling is they've always had the aesthetics of a leaping jag in their body shape. from the XK120 to the XF
Tuve uno es una joya
I just got 98 xjr, 65k miles, in British green.
Same here got a red 99 xjr had the e39 m5 as well, his point about the m5 is completely true it’s a hoot, 3rd gear power slides in the dry
Se n est pas un trd turbo 2 cet un CX turbo série une les trd 2 il y a un intercoled refroidissement de l air 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I feel mature watching this.
Best to follow it up with an episode or two of Baywatch
Perfect roadholding at 125 mph with just 3.800 rpm. Have a look on my channel and find out what this cat can do on a free German Autobahn.
Such a beautiful car thanks for sharing
let it cool down? you didn't even get it off cold
id pass your punk ass in a honda my grandma drives better your in a hellcat driving like a hoe take your nuts out of your boyfriends purse
Heureusement elle tient la route😅😅😅😅😅😅
In Britain, in the 60s and 70s , the Jag Mk2 was actually the choice get away Car of Bank Robbers. The Police had to acquire their own to be able to chase them down.
MK2s still tug at my heart strings every time I see one
That great styling back to 1960
They are a great car. When the time comes to change, don’t rule out a late Jaguar XF. Either V8 SC or 4cyl 300(bhp) AWD. They fixed a lot of the interior space issues. Ride well. Buy one for your wife!
I do have a soft spot for the XF-R
Being a Brit and a Jag enthusiast myself it's great to see an American who loves these, not the most reliable cars, let's be honest 😅. Also thank you for pronouncing Jaguar properly 👍
I found in my 30K miles that once the common failure items are addressed - fuel pump, timing chain guides, etc. - it's actually been quite reliable.
Yup you’ll need to rob a bank to pay for all the repairs 😂
Do you though? Stay tuned for a breakdown of my total outlay over almost 3 years of ownership.
@@autosnob the X type I once had was a nightmare. had the same vacuum line issues. Snow would get inside the rims and throw the wheels off balance. The coolant reservoir plastic rotted at the spigots for the rubber lines and failed requiring a tow on Sunday night looking for an all night repair shop. The paint and interior was very nice though.
Great car !! I have a 77 Daimler double six, a distant relative. There are some really good affordable saloons about these days. My daily is an E90 M3, possibly the best car I’ve ever owned.
@@Omegaman1969 Love me a good S65! Nice choice of daily.
I love these. Would I pick one of these over an E39 M5 or W210 E55AMG? I dunno. Maybe I would, just because they're different, not something you see everywhere...not a first pick for most people. But I surely would work on whatever I had to, to improve its reliability regardless if the car had no issues earlier.
Agreed, it’s definitely not the obvious answer!
One of the best looking cars ever
Glad it's not just me drinking the kool aid
@ what is cool aid 🇬🇧
@@stephenr6427American punch 🇺🇸
@@stephenr6427 It is a reference to a rather horrific/tragic event in 1978, when Peoples Temple cult leader Jim Jones convinced his followers to drink juice laced with cyanide. 909 people died.
THE GREATEST
The Durango hands-down is the best SUV of all time 👍🏽
Let me just say, I have added a Borla ATAK exhaust to my 2021 Durango Hellcat to make the exhaust note louder and a Corsa cold air intake to increase the supercharger whine and it NEVER gets old.
hi, anyone knows where we we all see a video with WALK AROUND this car?? I have never seen the front of it.
Car is 50 years old yet the interior STILL looks modern and cool! Gotta love that throaty V6 growl too.... who needs a stereo with THAT soundtrack? Modern cars just don't have this much character!
Is it a v6?
Yes sir, 2.7L Maserati V6 with triple Weber carbs

Le chic et la puissance Citroën, une des meilleures voitures au monde ! Vive la France ! ❤️
IT'S UNBELIEVEBLE THAT THIS DASHBOARD WAS DESIGNED IN LATE '60S !!!!
I love this car.. hidropneumatic suspension, V6 engine, gorgeous styling..
You could show us the car
Fantastic thank you
Looks like it's floating. Nice sound!
That Maserati engine sounds real good!
Lovely car. Love that crisp V6 sound and really miss our Xantia V6 Break.
"Father, I have sinned. In the last 10 minutes or so I've been feeling a lot of envy..."
To boring politician I'M SURE THE LORD WOULD UNDERSTAND! HE'S PROBABLY ENVIOUS TOO!
Is this Wankel Rotary powered?
@@nygelmiller5293 No it has a Maserati V6 engine
My dream car I own a four door hard top years ago I purchased a convertible three years ago 472 Big Block motor love those engines
Magnifique 🇫🇷
The Standard of the World - superb motoring!
Fabulous car like all the classic big Citroens ahead of its time. Great review many thanks.
why didnt you drop the top
I wanted to but the wind noise would have made the audio challenging.
I had a buddy of mine who put an mi-16 engine in a 205 with throttle bodies... Jesus that thing wheelspan in every gear bar 5th. Doin 80 in 4th then stamp on the gas, and you were wrestling that steerin wheel like your life depended on it lol. Lovely drive. Many thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it, sure would love to bear witness to your buddy's 205!
Never got to own one of these.... but i sure kept on them.
Mike, truth be told from a viewers point of view, A LOT of sound is coming through either your camera or a mic. That car is quite loud. How can you even listen to the radio?? Sounds like both wind and road (tyre) noise.
For some reason the mic on my phone is making it sound a LOT louder than it actually is inside the cabin of the car. It seems to be amplifying both road and tire noise.
Interesting findings. I think that Toyota made this car to be reliable and very efficient. I do not think that Toyota will make a sports car version out of this model. And if you do not want an SUV (and not everybody wants one) this is a great car.
I bought one new....
A pity that you just see the sky and the treetops. Don´t really get any road or speed feeling!
Agree
You should always drive in the normal height mode, when driving on a normal highway!
Heartbreakingly beautiful. I have obsessed over this car since I was 5.
Is this an odd fire engine ? Any commonality with the Biturbo V6 ?
This is a super car the engine dhe gear the dash everythink. Why citroen makes shitty cars now
Good question
Citroen went bankrupt because of this car and the upcoming CX. Then it was taken over by Peugeot and went downhill since then. The C6 from 2002 still had an elegant look and kept the hydraulic suspension until 2017. I don't care about other models, including the gimmicky "DS" rebrand.
Because 'Citroen' don't really exist any more.
@@flexigoat7778 Not stricyly true that this car bankrupted Citroen. There is a lot more to the story, including rotary engines!
