We had not yet seen one, and polin's was a quite unrepresentative season (at least if we look at the main characters), while this show - as any big money-making machine - uses trendy politics to create shallow shock value. It was quite predictable, I'd say. Nice pick, nevertheless, really. Doesn't feel random at all. Cindarelly is probably a Chinese story in origin, so I expected them to pick either a Chinese, Korean or Japanese actress (as most Americans barely tell the difference). And the ideas of delicate beauty and art associated to Korean culture suit the mood of the upcoming season (and match Benedict's personality quite well). That makes it also clear why she would stand out so much among all of his... acquaintances. Shondaland production team is def one step ahead: the care for such small details, from casting to costumes and makeup, is impressive. They managed to turn such low quality stuff into a show appealing to a more highly-educated audience precisely thanks to that.
I'm excited for this season. The story of Sofie and Benedict was actually the beginning of Brigdethon. A Cinderella retelling that gave us this whole universe! And yea I know that that is the third book, not the first. But if I remember correctly I did read that the Author formed the family and the series by thinking to write about a Cinderella story

Has this been official confrim yet by shonaland and the Bridgerton show producers i wouldnt get to excited just yet i would wait for the official news from the proper channels to come out and watch the video that Bridgerton will create introducing sophie which i am guessing will be out next week at some point as they are starting to film September 16th i think they will announce sophie first like they should do then after a few weeks introduce the new characters as they need to announce which young actor will be playing colin and penelopes son the new lord featherington and reveal his name and with Antony and kate returning they will also need to show us who will be playing thier son or daughter and thier name
