Honestly the way they casted the actors is the way it should be. Not using a famous actors name to bring success but actually having confidence in your production and giving a chance to lesser known actors to portray characters without already having a set character for them
I love how they gave regular everyday people a chance instead of going with established actors and actresses. We’ve fallen in love with them and hope to see them around in the future
They are theatre peeps. Those 3 guys and the queen, not sure about the others. No wonder they act superbly and their stories will be featured first after Daphne since I think hers is the original so you can’t change that in the order. Theatre people are on another level. How I wish we had that kind of school program back in the days lol.
I don't understand how Claudia and Nicola got to even audition for parts playing character half their age? They play their characters fabulously, but why weren't they looking for actors in that age range? Just curious.
Now I realize, bridgerton will actually not be like other series where the story might drag on where you would know that the writers are grasping for straws for a new arc. It will not be like other shows where you will get tired of the leads because they have too much screen time. It is formulated to have a different set of lead for every season, a different love story, but the same cast. You may not like one season but you will want to watch the other season just because its basically a new show to get hooked on. 😮
The way Nicola Coughlan intentionally did things to manage the stress (which is called being proactive not reactive) (going to Therapy once a week, going to workout, doing a relaxation day with massage) makes me think that I should do the same to manage my stress related to studying instead of talking to myself like "I'm stressed, I'm stressed" (being reactive). We think that only people with mental health disorders go to therapy, and we dont realise that if we go in the early stages when we are stressed, we will not get to the point of a mental health disorder.
I have been amazed that this is the second compilation of Bridgerton actors that has neglected Jonny Bailey's pre-Bridgerton career. He is not only accomplished at ballet, but he has many stage credits to his name!
Thanks to the fact that the actors were not known more widely to the audience , especially international , we could love the characters and get to know these talented artists❤
I think this video shows what a power house shondaland production company is. I do not think that this would be the case for all shows or tv. But I think they really capture the character in the show and then are better able to identify who will work best play that character.
This is how casting process should be done. I'm inclined to say i prefer british productions now compared to hollywood. The acting, the stories, are all excellent. Even though I started watching Bridgerton solely due to Nicola because I adore her in Derry Girls, I'm glad i did and have been a huge fan eversince.
IMHO, British culture produces the finest actors! They emphasize training for the stage and take it very seriously. Maybe it's the influence of Shakespeare and the like?
That's very interesting... It sounds like they already pretty much knew who they would want to cast in the roles. I wonder how many audition Tapes they had seen in the process. I can't imagine it would've been too many, when they come to those decisions so easily? But isn't it also really risky to give the roles for romantic leads before they had even done a "chemistry reading"? It worked out pretty good in the end, but just imagine Simone and Jonathan couldn't stand each other?
Yeah exactly my thought SA was hired before the chemistry reading and they were lucky that it worked out! Same goes for Nicola and Luke bc apparently they didn’t even bother with a chemistry read between these two. I think bc the actors weren’t that well known before the show they all went the extra mile to familiarize themselves with the material and their screenmates which adds to the undeniable chemistry and bond everyone has with each other
@@happydaze7976 I gathered that this is actually the way it's usually done... To determine weather or not those actors actually match. Especially if they are set to play a couple 🤔
I adore Claudia Jesse and her portrayal of Eloise. I relate best to Eloise's independent and curious nature. And she's so funny and sarcastic at times. Casting did an excellent job with every character!
Oh guys... if you think looking like Simone is not hard, constant, daily work with an extensive routine and carefully watched nutrition... I dont know what...
benedict worked on his body for his role, welldone. penelope should have done the same. she should have lost weight for the 3. season bc in the books in her glowing up era, she changed her style and she also lost weight. she and colin have zero chemistry. i dont like the third season at all
Are you not tired of seeing the same thing over and over again? Skinny white girl with skinny white man? Please open and expand your mind!! Bridgerton is loved because of its fantasy-esque regency setting and the diversity it brings that no regency show or movie has ever shown. If you want to watch the same bland structure go watch every other regency show/movie. Also Colin and Penelope have the most beautiful/gentle chemistry that people find strange just because it’s not aggressive/enemies to lovers like the first two seasons, if it followed the same pattern the show would be very boring and repetitive. Hope you open your mind and heart so you can enjoy such a beautiful show that so many people resonate with, have a good day :)
@@Pieralee901 excuse me but where is my comment on peoples skin color? i dont care about their race or the color of their skin. and yes colin and penepole has a good story but the actors have 0 chemistry. and i didnt mean that she needs to be skinny. but she didnt actually glow up, thats a fact. and the reason i didnt like the last season wasnt just the absence of chemistry. i find it boring in general. good day to you too:))

the bridgerton boys also look alike. enough that you can believe them to be siblings
You do t have to have a famous actor when you have a production company like Shondaland behind it.
Benedict speaking french is HOT
It was 😮
I hope the writers know this.
I could not see luke as the duke of hastings. Glad he became Colin, it fits him
I think Luke was too young at the time, he would smash that role right now I'm sure. Duke is supposed to be like 30 in the first book

Claudia/Eloise .. playing a 17 year old in your thirties?! She’s absolutely gorgeous and plays the role perfectly. Eloise became my favorite! ❤️
same with Nicola Coughlan who plays for Penelope... both characters made me hooked up with this season...
claudia is literally so gorgeous omg
Her movements made her look like a cute teen.😊
Same here
I don't understand how Claudia and Nicola got to even audition for parts playing character half their age?
They play their characters fabulously, but why weren't they looking for actors in that age range? Just curious.
Jonathan Bailey worked on Fellow Travelers and Bridgerton at the same time flying back and forth between London and LA. He’s a fabulous actor!!
And also wicked
He got an Emmy nom too for Fellow Travelers. I feel like a proud mom😭❤️
Hannah deserved this role! She's wonderful as Francesca, I wish her all the luck!
i really wish the show ruby stokes left for had been renewed for a second season. i liked it a lot
The Casting director/crew did a fantastic job. So many iconic characters and performances have come out of the Bridgerton actors.

I cannot imagine anyone else playing The Duke other than the actor who got the part.

French person here: Luke/Benedict sounds like any of my French friends, that's mad.
Thats coz he’s French
he does have a light accent tho
He's English. He studied in France. @vassilissamaslovskaya8859
I think it is because he didnt have much to say
He grew up in France due to his father's work. He says that he feels more comfortable speaking French than English.
J Bailey seems like an amazing person to work with.
ngl, i always pictured hannah dodd as sophie beckett but she is perfect as francesca as well!
I love the direction of the casting. Excellent choices!
I love how they made the brothers look alike so it gives a more realistic family appearance.
Luke (Benedict) is such a lovely person and I’m glad he won as our Benedict ❤
This short documentary was so enjoyable to watch! Thank you!
So happy you liked it💖
It said Hannah Dodd went back to cleaning. But she also did Enola Holmes 2.
Yeah this was so confusing to me
she did have a part time cleaning job, being an actor pays like shit until you become huge
That's why last year strike went on: secondary cast members can't live on their art
I thought she went back to cleaning because she didn't originally get the role?

Rege read with a few different actress's before Phoebe. She was convinced she didn't get the part though 😂😂.

I will take one Luke Thompson, please 🤚🏻
How do I explain to my boss why I'm bawling in the conference room?
Dear Gentle reader,
What about Lady Julie Andrew’s? ❤
Great video! Thank you!! Casting for Bridgerton is perfection! ❤😊
Thank you love🥰💖 Agreed, the casting is🤌
Casting makes a movie
Super lovely video, thank you so much!!
Thank you for your support💖💖
wow, it was sooooo interesting!!! please please please make more videos like this!!!!
Aww thank you! Glad you liked it bby 💖
I speak french and when i heard luke thompson speaking french i wonder if he has been french in another life because his accent is so damn perfect
i love them sm
No sé porque Luke Thompson me da vibes similares a Matthew Perry
Nicola is such an icon ✨
Luke is so charming frfr
6:37 is Nicola
I don't recall in the books that Benedict was ever bisexual.
I want to know how they know about these things. A representative notified them about the shows and gave the script?
Claudia (Eloise) really reminds me of Hailee Steinfield.
I love Nicola Coughlan ❤
El esposo de Francesca y el pretendiente de Violet no son nada agraciados. Debieron escoger mejor a esos galanes
Hanna es hermosa
Luke T and James Norton in the same show? Sorry I missed it!
Yeah, it's called "A Little Life" stage play
Para mí todos son actores nuevos y es fácil encariñarte con sus historias.
Okay but wtf is with the light effects. Was that at all necessary
Eu demorei MUITO pra perceber que esse vídeo ta sendo "dublado"
since this did not come up in the book i doubt it
Uma pena colocarem a legenda tão grande, a ponto de prejudicar as imagens.
Eles podiam pensar melhor, nesta estética do vídeo.
I’m so tired of lemonade lol
❤❤❤❤
Simone ❤❤❤❤❤ Luke T ❤❤❤ Nicola ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Most actors on the show play good but I didn't like duke Simon and Francesca's crush...Idk maybe their roles were just badly written
Simone & Jonathan didn't have "crazy chemistry" -- they're great *actors*.
What do you think chemistry means? 🧐
