I still have my 2006 Charger R/T and it runs great with minor maintenance. I did upgrade my shifter latch and have my transmission flashed. There is an issue with a faulty fuel filler neck on some of these vehicles, but those models have a lifetime warranty on the fuel tank. You'd have to look it up. Mine started getting vapor locked when I'd fill up with fuel so I had mine replaced.
1:10 My 5.7 in my 06 charger dropped a valve gide seat in cylinder 6 on restart at 7/11 catastrophic failure, just like in the video here. I have not posted what happened to mine . After taking off the head, we noticed the factory gasket was on backward, blocking half of the water ports on that side of the engine. That's why it gets overheated.
I have a 2006 Charger RT with 140,000 miles. I’ve had a few minor issues but recently I had to replace the transmission and my engine gave out. I had it diagnosed and I was told it may be the cam shaft or a bad valve. To continue with the fix they wanted $5,500. So, it’s getting junked, sucks because I really enjoyed it and I took very good care of it.
I have a 2007 dodge charger rt and lemme tell you what he’s saying is very accurate lucky I’ve only had minor issues like fan assembly and coolant thermostat which wasn’t much but still a issue that could’ve went from nothing to something real quick

@Wilfredo Gomez if you had the 5.7 stroked to a 392. Camed, tuned, with cai, exhaust. Agreed, they are pretty sweet, but you’ll definitely have to be mechanically inclined to keep the car running for a long time
Just find a 09 or 2010 RT or any SRT8 you’ll be good..
