    Hi guys! Hope you found some value! Please like the video and subscribe if you haven't already!
    Should we get a clinical psychologist for any interview?

    • @sage_bs
      @sage_bs ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes please do a video. I see in the comments people are mentioning that it’s hard to get in. I am interested in studying it so I did research:
      1. Most people do the degree not realizing that you need to get to Masters if you want to really use your degree and work in psychology - which is 6 years
      2. Yes, I’ve heard of some people working with their honors in Psych degree however, they’re usually in HR
      3. Considering how many people study for these qualifications, one needs to stand out. It can’t just be marks (get high marks yes 😅 to better chances of moving from undergrad to honors) but, volunteering and actually going to therapy (especially when looking into Clinical Psych) might better your chances.
      4. Clinical is not the only route - one can do an honors degree and do Psychometry or if you follow the traditional route of degree, honors, masters: there are research masters, and counseling (which I’ve heard it’s closely related to Clinical)
      Please don’t hack me - the above is based off of my research over the years. 🙈

      @sage_bs Thank you for your insights, I know they will find value in it.
      Someone has contacted me about an interview, so I'm waiting to see if it will happen or not.
      Research part has been missing in most cases 🤣

    Thank you for the video....just to add I don't know why the clinical psychologist is earning less but from my own research that amount she/he is earning is mostly earned at internship level(someone who did their M1, now doing their M2 while interning, literally with no experience. It then increases when you are doing comserv). From the government posts that i have seen grade 1 psychologists (0-3 years experience) earn about R65k or above.

    Please note that Clinical Psychologist grade 1 salary is +R65 000
    MAYBE that clinical psychologist works as a part time employee since she is running her own private practice. Thanks.

    Yeah Government pays psychology professionals a lot... A hell of a lot more than what you would get at a private institution... In my experience anyway. The salary in government is very very good. If I could work in the public sector I would.

    Yoy cannot want to do an honours with 59%. People say it hard while they know they do no qualify. Make sure u get 70and above to get admission to marsters. If u are an average student leave psychology alone. This 1 is for book worms. And stop discouraging other people who want to go into the field.

    • @liferesetwithboni

    • @Bakii.Lopez9
      @Bakii.Lopez9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Your chances of admission are high. Same with honours, if u got 65 and below as an average you fo not get considered, unless if u go do a post graduate diploma, which in most cases they do not consider ur marks bt 2yrs working experience.
      With psych in all honesty marks are the ones that do the talking. Get an average of 70 and above and u get considered fr masters

    You actually dont need a masters degree to have your own practice. Just a degree is enough but youll be referred to as a specialist wellness Counselor. You however need to complete some certificate with an organization and get your license and offer your services can even hire psychologist and claim from.medical through them

    • @rinaemolapong8503
      @rinaemolapong8503 ปีที่แล้ว

      @nomandlamsindo848 first you must have a degree in psychology then you do training and shirt courses with an organization that offers them e.g. helios training center and then after you get a license to practice as a wellness Counselor and can even open your own practice but it's tricky because you can't claim from medical aids because you are not formally registered with HPCSA but you can get paid cash..

      Nope
      A Counseling Psychologist is one who has Masters
      And a Registered Counsellor has the professional Honours, a Registered Counsellor and a Psychometrist earn the same
      With Psychometry you just need Honours and 6 months of additional studying to be a psychometrist

      Whether you have done your academic psychology degree degree at UNISA or at a full time university, it doesn't make a difference
      We all suffer the same fate of struggling to be admitted at Honours and Masters
      Speaking from experience as a UNISA student, with friends from other full time universities we are suffering together.
      But with the degree one can always try to applynat UKZN for the BPYCH EQUIVALENT 18 months programme to be a Registered Counsellor

      There's institution like SACAP and cornerstone that are great ,I did psychology. It's not useless if you're committed to your studies and by the means of continuing by going into masters or PhD. You cannot expect to go further in this field of you're an average student with less than 80 percent. Please don't discourage others from pursuing this field it not only help you help othets but yourself in the process
