All this time I've been watching your videos and I never noticed until just now that you have a serie of videos about the town where I spent the first year of my life, living with my grandparents in Old Heath. My grandmother was born in Wivenhoe and her family had been there since the 1780s. There's even a connection to the Rebows.
I think I've a dozen videos from Colchester and one from Wivenhoe plus others from the region. Interested to note your Rebow connection. The Rebows married into the Bowes-Lyons family, and King Charles III.
@@AliceGoss I forgot to say...Rebow has the stress on the second syllable, and it rhymes with the thing you fire arrows from. So reBOW. I got this from my grandma, who must have learned it from her father, who must have got it from his father, Thomas Harvey, born in Wivenhoe in 1803. Mary Martin Slater Rebow was born in 1804 and included in John Constable's painting of Wivenhoe Hall (now part of the university) in 1816. I'd be very surprised if their paths ever crossed, but he'd have known the name.
Thanks Jane for your comment. I did enjoy making the destruction of St. Mary's Church Tower and yes I have been to the top and the other church towers in the town including the town hall tower!
I did show all the buildings mentioned but perhaps I could have shown more of the church. I have other videos planned which will show the church in more detail.

Thank you for your comment. There are many more to come.
Great video! Good depiction of St. Mary's tower being blown off too. Have you been up to the top of the tower? Some great views!

@@AliceGoss ooo I've not been up the town hall tower!
you're lovely, Alice, but please turn the camera to the building you are looking at and describing.
