They do not understand the market scenario of India. The car costs in India are comparatively very low and in Australia costs are way too high and due to high purchasing power people can easily buy those expensive cars. That is also a main point to consider here. If Indian companies introduce a car with safety like Volvo, it will cost like a volvo

GNCAP is a joke really. Should not be taken seriously by anyone. There are many reliable videos and articles online that have exposed them. ANCAP is probably giving us the real picture. But anyways safety is of least priority for the masses in India. So can't blame the manufacturers for this.
Ideally a 2 tier manufacturing process should be implemented by the manufacturers in India. One to cater to the consumers who wish to trade safety in exchange for more features & fuel efficiency. The other to cater to consumers who have safety as a priority. This way car buyers will be given personal responsibility for their choices. Wishful thinking though!!!

No point in going in this much detail. Just say without ADAS, AEB, LANE ASSIST any vehicle will get 0* ANCAP.
ANCAP does not give a separate rating for structural integrity.
Simply put adad, aeb in Scorpio and the ancap rating will be 3-4* .
ANCAP says most of the accidents are caused by driver fatigue so ADAD,AEB is must to qualify for ANCAP *. In the near future they will say all the accidents are caused by driver so only driverless car will get ANCAP *s

BNCAP is collaborating with GNCAP but it should set its own norms than tie ups and hire some good auto engineers to conduct the tests.
how are people gonna buy cars when normal cars like Scorpio would start coasting over 40 Lakhs? safety ratings are just deceiving, they are tested at 50-60km/h when companies will make good cars in that bracket NCAP will increase the testing speed and add other things as well. Mahindra should have made the necessary changes to fulfill the requirements even Jimny 5 door received adas update their, but they probably thought just like GNCAP, ANCAP wont be taking their vehicle's unless its sponsored test🤭. (The same way how GNCAP is completely ignoring Bolero and Scor. Classic)
Also 17 out of 40 points is very concerning, 0/8 in full width, 0.53/4 in whisplash and 3/8 in front offset. You can't really blame ADAS only on this one when its overall performance is bad. Actually feeling bad for Mahindra considering they recently started getting more and more popular in Australia, this will heavily affect their image.

Its actually Mahindra's own negligence in this case, no other thing to blame. Because ANCAPs protocols and everything are available even in the internet for everyone. And Mahindra's team couldn't simple take care on that, and launched the ScorpioN without ADAS. Whats more embarrassing is, the new Tank 300 SUV, which was compared to ScorpioN by Mahindra Australian TH-camrs, got full 5 stars in the same crash test. Even suzuki launched their 5 door Jimny with adas there.
