I’m still in the process of deconditioning feeling guilty or “lazy” for resting/not working like a generator. I find it exhausting to work for long periods of time and am learning that working for short spurts and then resting prevents burnout. Thank you for sharing! 🙌🏻

    • @karenmcmullen

Sounds like you can tune into your rhythm quite well...and then also witness the conditioning to do more. HUGS!

Karen McMullen I’m really trying to! The alternative is burnout, which has manifested as physical illness in the past. So I defs don’t want that haha. Hugs to you as well! 💗

Seconded on another comment about laziness! It's so difficult having been conditioned into working all the time. I also think it's the capitalist system we live in that also makes us internalise this as our value. I've also been called lazy as well, but realise that working at my own pace is so much better. It means many of us just by nature are more independent or selective about our circle.

      Capitalism definitely plays into conditioning!

I think every Manifestor learned to work as a Generator and burned out at some point, lol, but my biggest struggle, I would say, is knowing when enough is enough. For so many times in life, I stayed in relationships (romantic, friendships, and even within my family) much longer than I should have. It is just hard to leave when it is appropriate, which is kind of crazy because we are designed to act, so it shouldn't be a problem. This one, I'll need more time to learn how to master it truly.

So Interesting, its like I just live my life tryin to find the easiest way to make the most amount of money without having to work for it. When I work straight for 3 hours its like i need a 5 hour break. I literally had to start a business just so I could take at least 4.5 months of vacation

To me it sounds like they all have chronic illness with chronic fatigue syndrome as a portion of what they have co-morbidly accrued (or as the sole stand alone issue) because with that you work as you can no 8 hours, you need lots of rest, and a bit of work feels like a lot for instance for me 4 hours feels like 10. So it's a bit confusing to have this video as my intro video into all this.

This whole "closed aura" thing is really blowing my mind. I have always had the sense that most people kind of steer clear of me and thought it was a personality flaw, like I just needed to try harder to be more approachable and open. In the past, the misunderstanding of this led me to force myself to stay in certain corporate lifestyles and relationships that were suffocating me. I have only more recently started reframing this as my superpower since unwanted energies also steer clear and I basically have a built in filtration system 😅, but this video also gives me some much needed peace on the subject.

Great video Karen! As a manifester, I tried to live like a generator but I just burned out. Now I keep my own schedule...rising early, working intensely, then taking time to rest later in the day. Find everything works better when I rest, read, just have time. Loved how this is affirming what I've learned for myself...

Thank you so much for this video! After finding the human design few days ago I finally understand why I do not “fit in” and operate how the generator does. My parents and my sister are generators and I felt guilty when I was not “doing” and working as hard as they do and was not understood for wanting something else from life. And in my work as well. I am a doctor but I was not able to sustain that 9-5 job. I was exhausted and didn’t know what to do. I thought my work was the problem. That maybe I dont like being a doctor, but actually I love it but in a completely different time - work schedule which is not possible in the generators world. I quit before december and decided to be an entrepreneur instead and do my own thing. Now I see why I felt like it and that I made a good choice. Any further tips on being a manifestor and work/ Business / enterpreneurship? I would be so thankful 🙏🏻🌸✨ Thanks a lot for Your videos! 🤍🤍

Hi Veronika! How wonderful that you've found HD and this channel. I suggest watching all the videos in the Empowered Manifestor series as a start. From there, you might want to consider doing a 1 hour channeled + Human Design reading with me. I have helped a lot of manifestors get a really solid sense of their business direction and the deeper why underlying their work. You can find that on the front page of my website: www.karenmcmullen.ca. Thanks for being here!

Great insights!! That explains why I had been yoyoing between work and burnouts several times! After the forth time I decided, I need something different for sure! I found a remote job from home and it was already much better, but I still had a hard time with the 9-5. Last year I finally quit my 9-5 job to work as a virtual assistant with my own schedule, much better! I still find myself not completely aligned with it and now I'm switching again lol, but my struggle is to find how to make more than enough money without sacrificing all my time for it, and also how to not feel guilty or lazy about it!

I'm just learning about human design. Absolutely all of this resonates. The closed aura (and me pushing myself to be warm and open and 'safe'). 'Stealing' time to be still because I felt a break in steady work was unacceptable. The 4 am energy instead of pulling all-nighters. The preference to sleep alone.
My question- how do Manifestors hold healthy romantic relationships? Who do they best pair with? How do we best be emotionally and energetically available for someone we want to give Love to?

Here a Manifestor Ego, 1/3, mid-forties. I have been a perfect generator slave my whole life. My husband is a workaholic Generator 6/2. After a few breakdowns and a thyroid autoimmune disease I try to slow down a honour my energy. It looks like I will split up from my husband after 16 years. I've always expérience jalousie envy or they just hate me for no reason
Even my boyfreinds would walk away from me just to get along with another girl not because she was better than me in enyway but just because there's somethings about me that guys just can't handle
I was lucky to have already learn since i was like 6 years old that i didnt have to be like enyone else i didnt have to do things like others did just to be like them even though it's wasen't easy at all

Yes. I love work! And I function best working in intervals. Work a week take a month off. Or work a month take a few off. Work usually is intense otherwise I get bored. No more guilt resting because I can work like a dog.
But I often feel I’m not in the right environment yet, need to be patient with myself and compassionate with my surrounding. I love being alone and not being in a partnership. It gives me headache if my friends talk about their romances. The only romantic way of connecting is seeing an independent grounded human who knows what he/she is doing, especially music. Oh and damn! Informing people? It’s such an amazing teaching to share myself, I usually do all myself as an introvert and practicing non violent communication is such great gift. I can hurt people with my harsh truth outbursts, so NVC has been a great guide.
I wish there could be a meeting with only manifestors! Let’s meet 😸💖

Another resourceful video! Thank you Karen! I have spent a lot of time and energy reading about manifesting, and there’s been a lot of frustration because a lot of the techniques don’t make sense or don’t work or don’t feel fluid. I’ve been slowly starting to realize that it may be a little different for me, and what you and those you interviewed shared helped me realize that I definitely need to take a different approach! So here’s to letting go of my fears and adopting a go get ‘em, with a special focus on self-care attitude! Thank you so much!

When I’m going, I can’t be stopped, but when I go down, I go down hard. I’m lucky that my daughter is a Generator and also my business partner. She is the GO and I am the idea force. I’m the first born female manifestor, mom is a generator, we are ALL LIBRAS in my family…. My friendly mask is very effective. I’m closed, (you won’t ever be able to know all that is in my brain/heart.) but oddly enough, I can get in. ;) but I don’t come in until I see an invitation.* I am like a projector so using projector skills and avoiding projector Not Self is useful for me.

Definitely been conditioned, growing up and as an adult, to be the one who initiates and who gets things done. It was pitched to me that I was bossy, controlling, up tight, and/or "if you want that you have to do it yourself". So I always saw that as reasonable as I have as the person who wanted x y or z. Maybe I didn't have willing generators around me 🤣

    • @karenmcmullen
      @karenmcmullen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

hi there, manifestors are here to initiate and also love to get things done...so I wouldn't see that as conditioning. It's more that they aren't here to work in the same sustained way as a generator.

I remember reading articles and pondering at age of 26, or so....what people earn, what are the careers. I could not align with any of them. Not because of resistance, but because of my "knowing". I wanted to be, not be forced. I found a quiet path of working with my hands, pursuing virtuosity and constancy. I seemed to acquire knowledge very easily. I learned best not to get too fired up about anything, lest I pursue it with a "vengeance"...LOL. Respect, kindness and honesty my best balancing tool. Also at times felt actual (physical) vibrations in my throat area. No fear just observing, it is true after all so why fight it.

We are certainly conditioned to be generators and I feel so emotional right now as I think back to all the times I feel I have abused myself by not resting when I needed it. I really resonated with what Erin was saying . I find myself doing the same thing now : creating the appearance of working hard but actually just finding ways to rest and recharge . There’s a pressure put on me by family to work and to do more , but at this time my heart is telling me to pursue creative endeavors . Is there a way to express these ideas to them in a way they can understand ? Or just a simple way in general ?

    • @karenmcmullen
      @karenmcmullen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Hi Finesse 'Fin' Poole, there are a few approaches to take here. I can relate as I come from a very 'succesful' materialistic, capitalistic, hard-working family...and the path taht I have chosen certainly doesn't fit into those boxes. I find that the more I understand myself and value my own creativity, the easier it is to express it to my family. But I still don't get recognition and valuing from much of my extended family. I just feel good enough and strong enough in myself to be me. My immediate family is so supportive, but they weren't initially until they began to see the fruits of my labours and the value of what I was creating. So..1) you can continue to be sneaky 2) pursue your creative endeavours 3) give yourself a lot of love, knowing that the conditioning to 'work, work, work' is strong and your decision to move away from it will be challenging because the conditioning is internalized. I hope some of that helps. I'm glad you found your way here...I'm publishing a new manifestor video this Friday at 11 am EST. And I hope you saw the other videos in the Empowered Manifestor series. xo

Looking back I see how I've always needed alone time to recharge and how the amount would extend into the day when I shared sleeping spaces with others...and how I would become irritable and/or not fully present if I didn't get that time.

I watch them all! I found this particularly interesting because my mom is a manifestor and has always said “I envy your energy” yet I never felt that way about myself. I would feel privately drained and unfulfilled. But now I can understand where she was coming from- how she was being expected to behave like me in the world and it was incredibly draining and soul sucking. Human design has helped me see what can happen when different people’s unique energies are misused, and what distinguishes my needs vs others. Plus, where I feel like we all can relate on the planet.

What I find really challenging is that I’ve always tried to have more consistency in my life, but it seems that planning and being consistent may not be the manifestor nature? Any clarification on that? I have always overfilled my “plate” with more and more things to do, out of guilt of not doing enough, and anxiety of not being heard and really moving in the direction I wanted in life (due to choosing manipulative relationships). And after most of my life of doing that, I’m now finding myself just relaxing! Really relaxing and not doing anything that doesn’t feel right… but being an emotional manifestor I’m still confused about how to manage my energy and how/when to take action!
May be awesome to have a video on each of the three types of manifestor?
Thanks a ton for your work 🙏
    With much gratitude
    Anastasia

Hi Anastasia! It sounds like you are experimenting just fine!! I love the sound of you just relaxing. Also, I wondered if you have an undefined ego or if you have childhood trauma that makes you feel like you have to overgive to be of value? Remember this is also a de conditioning/healing process.

Lol throw in a whole thing with menstrual cycles and ALL women need downtime like Manifestors do. I guess for me it's double as a Manifestor woman and I'll be DAMNED if I do not bring some much needed change and put these generator women (and this planet) on a slight pause and a breather. Even ya'll need a break and I don't care how much life force you got. YOU 👏 NEED 👏 SACRED 👏 REST 👏 ONCE 👏 A 👏 MONTH!

@@karenmcmullen thank you, Karen! I am super passionate about this topic, about menstrual cycles, women's bodies and fighting hyper distorted masculine energy (I guess that would be the generator men that built this world 🤣🤣) that has run this world and is running it into the ground. Women along with everything else. It's also very personal to me as I had to watch my Generator (6/2) mom struggle with cancer for 5 years and still not slow down in any way shape or form and take care of her sacred vessel.. until she died an awful painful death in May from cancer that final spread all over and into the brain.

i am an emotional manifestor but my aura is not repeling actually i am a people magnet why?

This is such a great observation and distinction. I think that this is true for manifestors in general...that they attract attention. I talk about that in the video about "Why People Envy the Manifestor." However, it still remains true that the aura is dense and repelling....and is saying "let me do my thing." I'm not sure how this relates for you.

How do you all communicate sleeping alone to partners who might prefer co-sleeping? And are any of you mothers who co-sleep with children? (I’ve never co-slept in my life and I’m wondering how to avoid it in the future 😂)

You could explain HD to them and have them understand your design versus theirs. I have compromised in the past by getting into the same bed for part of the evening or morning.

Do any Manifestor have tips on what to do as a rest? I'm confused- I don't want to sit on my phone all the time but else is rest. I'm a teenager who grew up with a cellphone lol

resting should be NOT engaged with anything that overstimulates your mind (like being on your phone). Go for a long walk sit a park, or near the beach. Learn to meditate. Paint. Make music. Read a book. Take a nap.

Side note: does anyone know how Western Astrology fits into this?

There is quite a lot of overlap but I myself have never understood astrology well
