You have picked so many excellent spots and shooting angles so it is easy for everyone to see these speedy beasts in action! You are a great trainspotter!
Their extensive use of electrically powered high speed trains and their extensive use of nuclear energy are why Frances CO2 emissions are very low. France should be proud of that.
Thing is, when you don't want the nuclear anymore, you can't reuse the land due to the radioactivity. The whole risk of blowing up thing aside, that's the other disadvantage.
You know what? This reminds me of Mr Bean's Holiday, cos these are the kind of trains they had in the movie. France's TGV high-speed trains sure make such a swooshing! And that type of swooshing is "Pee-oo, pee-oo, pee-oo!" like gunshots!
The problem with the US railways is that Amtrak is a private company, you should nationalized your rail. The problem is the same with our British Neighbors.
Amtrak being private has nothing to do with the problems of our rail service. We don't move people with trains in the US, we move freight. Long distance passenger train travel in the US is little more than a gimmick for the Amish and people that hate flying. We have cheap enough gas and availability to owning cars that train travel is just not worth it. Amtrak only borrows the tracks it travels on so in order for us to have rail service like Europeans we would be starting from scratch. Not to mention most of our cities and towns are not good places to get let off without a car. I'm only stating the reality. I'd love it if we traveled by train more often here. I love them.
Erwann L'inconnu. Your right the railways in Britain are rubbish at times, because they are run by people who only care about money and not improving their service, only so they can line their pockets more gold. Also the the old fashioned signalling that we use (Excluding HS1) is not as reliable as standard European signaling which is one of the factors that play a part in late running of our trains.
Do you know why the Eurostar trains sound different to others when zooming by? The Eurostar makes more of a "zoom" whilst all the other trains make a sound like "soon" (best way I can explain the sound lol)
it is effectively a minor design flaw in the fairings between the coaches that allows a build up of high pressure causing that woa..woa...woa sound. Gives it character, bit like the old paxman valenta engines on the br hst 125.
C'est un chef d'oeuvre TGV ! la seconde partie du clip est moins impressionnante que le début, parce que à ce moment entre Ouigo Eurostar gare d'Aix, V320 !!! j'ai vu plein de belles prises à grande vitesse ! Chapeau Lucas !!! 20/20
lovely videos, im lucky to live in france, the tgv is still the best high speed train in the world, looking forward to when the lgv sud europe atlantique opens then 200mph from angouleme all the way to paris!
i like that light blue tgv... its a nice design. not so needlessly cramped and chaotic as the other ones. excemption is of course the eurostar and old tgv sets. the other stuff looks not nice.
If we had high speed Shinkansen, TGV, Thaly's,Eurostar, the German ICE(Intercity Express), Pendolino high speed passenger train service nationwide, I would be traveling it a lot from the Loser City Tucson metro area to San Diego 10 to 12 times a year, 8 to 10 times a year to Denver, Dallas, San Antonio, 6 to 8 times a year to Chicagoland, Wilmington,DE. I enjo y watching the high speed passenger train videosvery much.
Note the yellow on the Eurostar trains, the Class 373's. Until the Crossrail 345 came, all trains in the UK had to have yellow on the front and rear. With the Crossrail 345, the Transpennine 802 IET's and many more, this law no longer exists
Because of the stupidity of many landowners. They get angry when someone wants to put a 5 meter wide track on their lawn but they won't care if someone wants to bulldoze their house and build a 12+ lane highway, cause cars are "progress".
Archies Orchids Well I didn't really ask him. Maybe I went too far, shinkansen has an enormous speed with 320 km/h but imagine that I only realized yesterday that the TGV has a speed of 320 km/h as well !!!!!!!(as the video maker told me) so maybe I was a bit wrong
We need these in the U.S. With our current system, you can get from Milwaukee to Chicago in an hour and twenty minutes. You get there by car in a little under two hours. A high speed rail line would get you there in under an hour easily. A trip from Chicago to New York takes almost 24 hours.
Yeah it is expensive, I think it would be worth investing in a country wide high speed system though. The US is almost as big as Europe and they're covered in high speed rail. I have a few friends who've traveled to Europe and they say the system is cheap, fast, and easy to use. Maybe some day. :)
its Interesting if trains just do 125mph or even 100mph the travel time can be brought down to 12 hrs rather than 24 on NYC to Chicago. We in India have similar distance route(distance equivalent to boston-chicago) and our premium train does it in 15.5hrs (in fog condition in 20hrs).
It wouldn't be possible unless you run it through the desert, it wouldn't work with just a straight line through America because the rest of the country may have to travel states to reach it. America is too big for it Edit: Whoever it was I forgot said about Europe and the USA. You don't see a TGV in Italy do you? No. Each country has different train system. To do the SAME train through the whole of America is near impossible. I say impossible because it's possible! Just with trillions of dollars
What is that sound in French train stations when it sounds like a woman singing for like half a second? Because you can hear it in Mr Beans Holiday as well when he's in Paris
BerendOldenburgerVEVO it's the official jingle of sncf stations ! it's very popular in FRANCE !! David Gilmour from pink floyd has sampled the jingle for one of his songs...

Love SNCF! from Japan.
How fast are trains in Japan
Only like 600 or 700 or 501
France is awesome when it comes to trains. You see it one second, gone the next.
The ghostly sound is my favorite when the euro star passes by
I love the silence of the french countryside before and after the roar of train
the "silence" of cicadas screaming and hurting your ears
Stunning views in this video. Bridge and trackside, showing the lovely French country side,
La nouvelle version du Eurostar est vraiment très belle et le ouigo aussi est magnifique

Magnifique vidéo ! Bravo Incroyable ! C'est dingue à quel point c'est fluide !
The Eurostar sounds like it's from Star Wars like is the train made of TIE fighters or something
Très rare de voir un TGV Duplex accordé avec un TGV Ouigo
Ça devait être un remorquage :o
The train at 1:52 is led by a regular SNCF livery and trailed by a Ouigo livery. (Wholly owned subsidiary of SNCF)
I love the 'carmillon' paint scheme. Hope it stays around for a while
Do you know why the Eurostar trains sound different to others when zooming by? The Eurostar makes more of a "zoom" whilst all the other trains make a sound like "soon" (best way I can explain the sound lol)
+dennis trident william Eurostar is composed of 2 wheel with 18 cars, including cars Eurostar specific where different noise from other TGV :)
it is effectively a minor design flaw in the fairings between the coaches that allows a build up of high pressure causing that woa..woa...woa sound. Gives it character, bit like the old paxman valenta engines on the br hst 125.
They may have louder engines.
No its because the coaches on the europestar are smaller than a normal coaches s8ze
My guess is that it has a middle deasle engine that makes it 'vroom'
