- Today, I would like to share some ideas for seasonal summer witchcraft with you. As a witch, nature is very dear to my heart. And I do try and live in tune with the seasons in all aspects of my life, taking inspiration from the naturally occurring lifecycles and themes of each month.
Starting with Lughnasadh, a time of harvest and abundance is beginning. The fields and gardens are ripe with fruit and grain, nature is rich with a bounty of fresh vegetables, colorful flowers, fragrant herbs and sweet berries.
So it is not surprising that I also take summer as a wonderfully fitting time to work abundance spells and prosperity magick and, of course, to enjoy and harvest what I have gained through earlier efforts.

You know what I would love? A Witches Year Cookbook, written by you, wherein you have all the recipes you've shown on your channel and include when to harvest what with what intention and energy...etc. I know as a new mom you have an abundance of spare time on your hands :) but it might be something to think about for the future. I would buy your book and copies for my friends.

I really loved this.... It just reminded me of how I worry and don't partake in the beauty around me much anymore... I care for my mother who is disabled and work part time, sometimes it is difficult to enjoy and do these small things that bring me such happiness.... Hello we finally getting some cooler nights, my pumpkin 🎃 are flowering and growing! I’m ready for autumn 🍂 and been getting earlier Halloween 👻 decor shopping (slight addiction). I need some spell work.
I am jellyyyyy hahah here it is still super hot! And in my heart I am ready for fall too - but now I will have to endure 4 more weeks in hot-as-hell-Spain before I can go all things autumn 😃🌻
I really needed this one Bex. The summer here in the South Eastern United States has been so humid and hot - I have found myself not feeling as magical and I could be. I loved the suggestion of taking a walk with the sunrise or cooling off with a book at sunset.. I often forget that I can appreciate the warmth in the wee hours much more! Your videos always bring such joy and it was lovely seeing the two little ones around the cauldron and campfire enjoying family time with their parents.
SE US here also, and I am a super cold natured person (I always carry a jacket with me everywhere because I get cold all the time) and it is just too hot even for me!
The early and late hours of the day are my favourite!! The quiet, the light and just how everything looks magical 🌅

Omg- was the baby in the stroller when it was pulled over?? Kudos to you for keeping so calm! You inspire me, you are such a super mom witch. My toddler is such a monster that I often skip things I could do in fear of the disaster it will bring.

Such a joyful reminder to enjoy these bright days, even when so many of us are sweating and sweltering in the heatwave. I'm not ready for Autumn yet, still plenty of high summer days left.
The heat wave here is crazy too! Everything is dryed out and burned and the lakes and rivers are starting to smell because they barely have water in them 😭 so that makes me really sad - but definitely not getting my spirits down and still trying my best to enjoy the bright side of summer here 😃✨🌻☀️
I live in Salem Massachusetts and I think my area is a pretty cool place to live, but where you live is stunningly beautiful. Would you do a video of a home and neighborhood tour sometime? I would love to see your gardens, your barn and all the places you go wildflower picking in your neighborhood.
I was thinking of doing that sometime! I do try and show as much as possible in the vlogs but would maybe make a dedicated video once 🙂✨ but be warned, it basically lots and lots of green with cows in between and a house here and there 😅

As an American, I encourage others to research native foods. Native Americans engineered thousands of foods that are part of dishes al around the world. Corn, squash, peppers, tomatoes, chocolate, spices the list could go on.

@@Thewitchescookery there is a good documentary called Gather which is a documentary on culinary influences Natives in the Americas have around the world. Tomatoes and potatoes are other examples.Also planting native plants no matter where you live supports the pollinators which allows life to continue

When I was younger my family had to drive for days to get far enough away from the desert to enjoy the summer. All the forests we used to camp in are suffering from intense wildfires or devastating floods now. The Redwood Forest was by far the most magical summer I ever experienced. I sleep more during the daytime in summer, and go out at night.
Sun tea! My grandmother always did this - I’m not sure what ingredients she used (I was little) but I swear it tasted just like summer. Now I wonder if she was a witch 🤔♥️
Sun tea was also pretty popular in general in the 70s and 80s, it's not just a witchy thing although it does give a wonderful magical sunny boost!

I love writing in a gratitude journal each day, even if it was the worst day ever. I can always find at least 5 things to write down. And, as a green witch, I’m definitely harvesting what herbs and flowers I grew this year by pressing the flowers to make crafts and the herbs for smudge bundles (my newest attempt). I’m soaking in all the days we have left of this lovely time of year :)
I find that to be helpful too - even if the day sucked, there are always little blessings, if we think about it! Have a beautiful rest of the summer 🌅

I found one morning on my patio table a bird's nest. This has to have some symbolic significance. I mean my Coven is Bird's Nest Coven. Chose that name because a nest is a place of Nurturing, Growth , and Transformation. Just an interesting bird trinket the Universe gave me.

Bex, When cleansing & charging crystals using Sunshine...one has to use the crystals that are connected with the energy of the Sun.
What beautiful video! Here I am in another heat wave with temps between 100F and 106F. All we feel like doing is sitting in the air conditioning and waiting it out. So this was a breath of fresh air. Thank you! I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us from S. Spain, as my family is from there. I have tried and tried to find any type of info on Spanish folk magic, but it seems it was all wiped out by the catholic church years ago. If you have anything about it, sure would love to hear it!

Aye, that mom guilt! Haha. I am learning how to infuse my life with seasonal magic to keep my spirits up and reconnect with nature. It is beautiful to slow down and be present. You are inspiring and show how easily attainable it is to find magic virtually anywhere. It keeps me motivated! I have a 10 month old and also appreciate you being open to show examples of what it looks to make things magical for your kiddos/family.
So happy you find it inspiring for your own practice with your little one! I feel especially with kids it is fun to do all those seasonal things - I have such lovely memories of all the seasonal dishes, outdoor activities and decor my mom would provide and I hope my kiddos have the same magical memories one day ✨🙂

I would love to actually enjoy summer one of these years. Here in the desert, it's so hard to go outside. And with heavy monsoons coming in the summer, it's just another issue to try going outside. It's either dry and 110 degrees Fahrenheit or super rainy with flood warnings. I'm working on moving to a place we're going outside is not such a novel idea 😂

Witches in places that are suffering from intense heat/droughts, it's probably best not to start fires if the ground is very dry - there have been lots of wildfires recently

🤗 you can absolutely say something the next time you have a request! In fact several people wrote that I spoke to fast and that is why I tried my best to do otherwise in this video 😄 and yes, that is just like a very basic yeast dough. I think in English this is called stick bread

I used a mixture of black tea, hibiscus and dried apple. Then I threw in lemon, lime, orange (take less if you don't want to tangy of a taste) and watermelon. You can also add pomegranate. I personally don't sweeten my tea but it would taste great with some maple syrup or honey :)

I am from germany too... but sadly I was never taught these traditions. Do you you have any recommendations of german Books that talk about these things?
Some areas are richer in traditions than others. A good rule of thumb is, the more Catholic the area, the more traditions there still are alive :) I recommend any Volkskunde or Sitten & Bräuche Buch. Just select one for the area that you are interested in. Alternatively, talking to elderly neighbors or church aunties is also a wealth of knowledge 😄
