    Even if it's not "Do you just not like Star Wars?", a bunch of fans seem to have self-serving "This is what I want/expected from the show, and if it's not that, I will pick it apart because it wasn't those things" mentalities, or the like. And from there, they latch onto anyone who's even mildly critical - fairly or otherwise - and say "You can see what the mainstream reactors who 'blindly accept everything' cannot!", or similar.
    Of course, not everyone (on either side) is guilty of such things. But as a whole, a lot of the dislike/hate certainly gives off that impression imho.
    Particularly from those saying "this season has no storyline" (a major shift in the Mandalorians' place among the galaxy, going from outcasts to seeking a path to rebuilding their people), or more specifically, "only the last 5 minutes of Episode 6 mattered" (potentially recognizing Mandalore has a sovereign system? That's not a big deal at all; we'll ignore that /sarcasm)

      Because today's "fans" have forgotten what the word "fan" mean. Instead of being short for "fanatic" to describe people who love something, they seem to be going the way of a fan being something that blows hot air.

    Yes, Pedro was busy shooting TLOU when principal photography was being done for this season of Mandalorian. He came in later to do the voice work. But for the vast majority of the season, it’s Lateef Crowder in the suit on camera.

      where's the proof? just curious.

    • @AngelaSealana
      @AngelaSealana ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you watch interviews with the other cast members, it's clear that Pedro is only the face and the voice. Lateef and Brenden Wayne are the actual costumed character actors.

    • @janineelvin3139
      @janineelvin3139 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Pedro has been in the suit several times, especially in earlier seasons. But the easiest way to tell who is in the suit, is to look at the shoulders. All 3 guys (Pedro, Lafeef Crowder, and Brandon Wayne) have very different shoulders as well as a different way of moving. Lateef especially has very sloping shoulders, you can always tell when it’s him in the suit.

    • @brianng8350
      @brianng8350 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But that is the thing… we don’t even see Pedro’s face. It should not matter if he is indeed filming the other show. He can be on the other side of the world and just phone in the voice over. It should not affect this show much.

    • @mnoir7257
      @mnoir7257 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pedro is in the suit when he takes his helmet off. Every other shot is a stuntman or body double. It would be ridiculous for production to do it any other way. This isn't a knock on that technique. Its just the way this stuff is done.

    The imperial in season 1 gave Din the beskar, but he also gave Greef some. Add in the beskar spear in The Jedi and there is plenty reason to think the imperials had more beskar and could have left some in the derelict ship. My only question is if it was accidental or intentional.

  • @acereporter73

    Mandalorians have that grounded appeal whereas Jedi, to a failing, can be "above it all" at times. Also, Mandalorians can be heroes outside of the major regimes (and politics). I am definitely eager for more related content about Mandalorians (games especially).

    Everyone remarks about the beskar spear but seems to forget about the camtono full of Imperial stamped beskar that was featured in season one episode three. Another reactor put it like this .. "if you want a beginning, middle and end, watch a 2 1/2 hour movie." The Mandalorian is a TV show with episodes that show character and world building. I find it more interesting when the plot goes off to left field every now and then. Some of the off the wall things come back to mean something in a later episodes. I'm tired of the haters. If you don't like it don't watch it. As for your comment on Andor .. for some reason I just couldn't get into the Cassian character. Maybe because the ending of Rogue 1 bummed me out big time. After Ahsoka I may go back and try to watch it again. Really enjoy your reaction and thoughts about the show. And speaking of Ahsoka, I'll have to re-watch Rebels so I know who's who.

Pedro said in a certain interview i forgot what channel it was, that he asked permission from both Dave Filloni and Jon Favreau if he was allowed to get and shoot the last of us, and they agreed and so did the other staffs, that's why they had 2 stunt men or stand in such as lateef crowder and brandon wayne to do physical shots while pedro pascal will fill in through voice acting after his shoot with the last of us is done...and that is why pedro was so thankful everytime to them to allow him to shoot 2 series at once... and jon favreau also mentioned in an interview that mandalorians or actors/stunt men wearing the helmet was very helpful that it gives the other actors especially pedro to have more time especially that he was in TLOU...

    Okay, I don't normally comment but I totally agree with the concept that The Mandalorian is a great balance between action adventure and seeing the Star Wars galaxy after the Empire. I love spending time with all these characters and I really fell in love with the Mandalorians as a whole. Never been much of a Star Wars fan but this show really got me watching.
    And I am also going agree with the sentiment that I prefer the Mandalorians to the Jedi. The Jedi I think were the reason why I didn't super enjoy the series originally. I had the VHS of the original trilogy and of course my favorites were Yoda because he made being a Jedi so effortless and he was a puppet. Then there was the prequel trilogy which I was old enough to see in theaters. And those movies made the contemporary Jedi seem really out of touch. Sure they're cool with their laser swords and magic powers, but they steal children and reject emotion and connections.
    And then the end of second season of The Mandalorian where the protagonist goes back and calls on all his favors, brings together all the resources and connections. Quaill, IG-88, Cara Dune, freaken Boba Fett and Fennic Shand with Bo Katan! And they take on the main antagonist, storm the castle, fight the evil dark knights and... a Jedi shows up and just mercs everyone. It's like cheating. Sure it's Luke, I enjoyed seeing him too but that's what it is, the Jedi running out here with cheat codes while the normal people in the galaxy are left to pick up the pieces.
    I connect way more with the Mandalorians than I do with almost any other faction in this universe. So yeah, I love seeing these people come together from scattered regions and fight tooth and nail to claw their way back to some semblance of society.

Then they diverged into a discussion of who was in charge on "Charles in Charge" and who was the actual boss on "Who's the Boss?", so make of it what you will.

      I always thought it was gonna be like the Witcher where the title refers to the dad first, then the kid. So, the Mandalorian would refer to Din first and then eventually Grogu, but along the way, it'd focus on every person that leads Grogu down his path

    I'm finding the episodes fun, but Din is still the character I feel most engaged with, I don't know Bo and it's been such a rapid progression of pronouncements from the Armorer to change her status that it feels effortless, so I'm still not feeling invested in her. That may change by the end of the season, but even now I still think she's kinda cool. I have a long love of ensemble shows, being a long-term fan of things like Babylon 5, which regularly changed focus between characters and multiple story threads; The Mandalorian hasn't yet made the transition to that kind of balance so this could be growing pains as much as anything else.
    It's a minor point, but I think they need to update the subtitles so those stop showing all of Din's dialogue as "The Mandalorian", makes it look as though the title still refers to him specifically. It would probably better demonstrate the intended direction of the show.

    How is Din sidelined? Because he is fallible, and needed Bo's help?
    He is in ALL of the show (minus the Coruscant minutes).
    Din fucked up the pirates.
    Din is the one who wouldn't stop, until he found the Living Waters (Bo wanted to leave).
    Din is the one who saves the kid AND takes down the raptor.
    Din is untouched in his starfighter, while always wreaking shop.
    Din tackled the super-battle droid and sliced the med-droid.
    Din is the one who brought Bo to "The Way."
    She would have NEVER become the leader she needed to be without Din.
    Whenever he isn't on screen, we're learning about IMPORTANT secondary characters.
    WE FINALLY found out who saved Grogu!
    Din still is The Mandalorian. Watch the subtitles, they don't use Din when they identify he's speaking...they use The Mandalorian. Bo is Bo, The Armorer is The Armorer, but Din is The Mandalorian.

    The Mandalorian started with Din Djarin so it's understandable if people still believe that 'The Mandalorian' is Din Djarin. But to me, it's totally acceptable for The Mandalorian to evolve to mean The Mandalorian People. So it's their whole group now, all the different tribes together, not just Din.
    And besides, Din has still been the one that brought them together. Even though Bo is being raised here as 'the one who could unite us all' (was that how the Armorer put it?), who brought Bo in? Still Din. Would Bo have come on her own? She'd probably still be moping in her castle. 🤪 Or worse, gone if she was in there when it was bombed...
    Sure, I can understand how people can watch and say he's more just in the background now. But still, he's instrumental.
    28:36
    Maybe part of it is... some people somehow look at it as being "forced" to do (watch) something they didn't plan on. Like maybe they started out just planning to watch this new show The Mandalorian, but 2 seasons later, realized, oh, they'd have to watch BoBF, too.
    And I get that. Kind of like realizing a little late that you bit off more than you can chew...
    However, you watched a Star Wars show in the first place. You had to know this was part of a bigger universe right from the start so... it's absolutely fine and completely your choice if you want to limit yourself to just one show but... if you do, then you'd have to accept at the same time that doing so will mean you'll miss out a lot and won't ever get the complete picture. That's up to you. 🤷‍♀️

    The weird thing about the First Order isn't that people were unhappy with the New Republic, it's that I don't see why the regular Imperial Remnant doesn't still exist instead of the First Order. I mean, we've apparently got Thrawn coming back as the Heir to the Empire pulling the fragmented Imperial forces back together. And there's apparently NOT going to be an invasion of extragalactic, force-immune aliens to devastate both the New Republic and the Imperial Remnants, so how do the 'current' Imperials get wiped out and replaced with a new bunch in the next decade?

    I would think Hector would be familiar with characters like the Beyonder (Pre-Retcon), Perpetua, the Beyonders, Molecule Man, One Who Laughs, Lucifer, and Michael! All of them can easily wipe away galaxies or even universes with out much effort, some of them even have the power to wipe out multiverses.

      I think the fact he brings it up, he is aware of them. He just finds the premise that a being can just wipe away an entire galaxy easily as pretty absurd.

    Not going to lie, I never watched Law and Order, but I frickin' love SVU. Soo...lol.
    I think the criticism, which I also have (just not so angry), is that we waited two years to get specifically back to Din and Grogu's story. So now we have this season that honestly rushed through the set up of Din being redeemed and truthfully his reunion with Grogu. Now did I cry when they were reunited in Boba Fett?! Heck yeah. That was all I wanted in those last 3 episodes, but it perhaps was not the best decision for their current story. Even the alleged drama between Kennedy and Favreau would speak to it, as he didn't even want them reunited at that point. I have no issue with being introduced to new characters and learning more about them as long as they are a part of the bigger story. But I think what is happening is that just like many stated, Boba Fett was hijacked by Mando, turning it into The Mandalorian S 2.5 (which honestly was a saving grace for me) and now The Mandalorian is being hijacked at this point, by Bo's story. To Hector's point, a New Hope introduced us to multiple characters at a time and there was a balance of us learning about all these various characters at once. The Mandalorian was set up to be specifically about Din and Grogu from the very beginning. I want more of a Din/Grogu-centric story, and we aren't getting that, IMO. But, I'm not jumping ship. I like Star Wars and I loved The Mandalorian. The only things I haven't seen are the animated shows because I just don't have enough time in the day. But we still have 2 episodes left. 🤞🏾

    I feel like y'all are a little different from most people as far as watching everything in a huge universe of hugely varied quality of content being the default. It takes time to watch all that content, and it's great if you have the time to invest in all this media, but it's a little weird to say doing anything else is weird.
    It just IS unusual for a show to have a major cliffhanger at the end of a season resolved in a different (and much more boring) show. I like Star Wars, but I've missed all the animated content... And I don't necessarily have time to watch however many seasons of all the animated star wars shows I missed. I had no real intention to watch Boba Fett, and only sat through it because a friend told me it's basically a missing chapter of the Mandalorian if you don't watch it.
    I like the Mandalorian and Boba Fett was fine, I'm not really here to complain, just here to say you I want to think about how not everyone has the same opportunity to invest the same amounts of time. That kind of completist expertise is what we come to watch you guys on TH-cam for 😁
    In short, stories should hold together on their own even if they're in a shared universe.

  • @TheBongReyes
    @TheBongReyes ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with you guys about how the show is highlighting other characters. But persuading people who complain about Din and Grogu not the focus of this season is a futile endeavor. Too many people create their own “Star Wars” in their heads. If anything doesn’t correspond to that, then it’s not Star Wars.
