This is so incredibly helpful. Thank you. Had you not shown me how to do it, I would've never figured it out. Also I appreciate the referral link for the part.
Thanks for watching and letting us know how much this helped you. This is one of our first videos and we hadn’t gotten a tripod. Our newer videos are better quality, but the information is just as good. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
I have a 1976 Eldorado convertible with 48K so mine are still in great shape. However, I loved the video and hope to see more of your work on your '76. Thanks
Thank you for watching. The 76 Sedan deVille is in progress, and I'll post videos when I get parts and complete jobs. Don't forget ot follow us on Instagram #westofthelakeclc
Im attempting to put interior back in..but im missing a piece. On the armrest where the stick is for the mirror, how is it secured? I see for the passenger its hanging in my dash. I see outer threads but have nonclue what the part would even be called. Any info would be great, thanks for the video
That is called a slipnut. They are as rare as hen's teeth. In the future, when you take your door or dash apart, don't loose that. You'll find a replacement for that in a junkyard, maybe. It took me a year and a half to find one for a guy who added a passenger side mirror and didn't get the mounting bracket at the same time. A temporary fix is to take the mirror to a locksmith and ask if they have a nut for a file cabinet lock that fits the threads; it won't be perfect, but it will hold it in place. Thanks for watching.
@@westofthelakecadillacclub thanka for the knowledge. Ive had this car since 07 and to my knowledge, it didnt have it then either. . i posted in the CLC forum, maybe ill call cadillac international.
Hi, I have a 76 Fleetwood Brougham that I cannot for the life of me find a brake caliper for the passenger front. I can find the driver front all day long but, not the passenger front. Any suggestions would be awesome! Also, could calipers be rebuilt?
Wow, no lie. I checked every source I have and there isn’t a passenger side caliper anywhere. I’d suggest two things, first rebuild the calipers, you’ll get dirty hands but a better product. Second, wait a few weeks and things come back in stock. I was waiting over a month for valve cover gaskets, you couldn’t get them anywhere. Guys on eBay were asking $150 for $14 worth of gaskets. A month later they’re in every Autozone. Good luck, let us know what you decide. Thanks for watching.
Hey tom....great video, wish it were that easy on my 78 Coupe. Lol. I have new outer window sweeps for both doors, but requires to take the door panel off. And possibly the windows too for both doors to replace them. I lowered them to their lowest and the glass will still be in the way of the outer edges screws. 😑
Hi Edgar: If I recall correctly, you can take the bottom window stop out of a 78 Coupe deVille and gently lower the window into the bottom of the door, giving you access to those screws, but it's been a long time since I had my hands in a 78 Coupe, so I may be mistaken. It's worth trying!
@westofthelakecadillacclub I'll give that a try this weekend. I've had them for awhile but haven't attempted to remove door card yet. I don't want to tear the lining and then not be able to replace them back on the push tabs. (If that's what their called) I have a 78 Body Manual and I'll give it a look over to see what's involved. Thanks. Have a good Monday

Anyone have issues with the Steele brand sweeps not fitting for the rear windows?
I’ve never used them, I like www.rubbertherightway.com
