I love how they’re doing different Motif’s for each movie - Sonic 1 had green hill - Sonic 2 had Emerald Hill - Sonic 3 has green hill reprised & Live & Learn
I think people misunderstand the context here. Shadow isn't stronger than Knuckles in this context. What happened is Shadow surprised Knuckles by warping directly in front of him, catching him off guard, and Shadow twists his fist. For Knuckles full effect he actually has to make the hit, but Shadow was too fast because he just warp skipped.
Something interesting to note, Sonic says "What did you do?!" directed at Shadow. I think something is gonna happen to Tom, we see him working with GUN and on the ground. Donut Lord is absolutely in trouble.
I get the feeling that Robotnik’s line, “If I can’t rule the world…” may be turned on its head if/when Gerald reveals his true motivations. “If I can’t save the world, I might as well destroy it.”

One thing I noticed about the trailer was that Sonic's default expression had his eyebrows scrunched to look more like his game counterpart's eyes, as opposed to the previous two films when his eyebrows were defaulted to being raised like a normal cartoon animal.
Right now, my theory is - if they do more movies after this - that Eggman uses the quill Sonic gives him to make Metal Sonic for the next movie, he loses control of him, and we get Metal Overlord as the big bad fight at the end for movie 4.
I think it would be cool if metal sonic appears to a 4th movie and maybe gets made fun of by sonic who easily defeats him and then in the next movie metals fulled by revenge and is the main villain of a 5th movie.but that’s a lot to ask considering we don’t even know if there’s a 4th movie yet

Idk, something tells me this might be the last ride. They're pulling out some heavy stuff here. Rarely do you have a secondary character rival popularity of your title character like Shadow has. I have a feeling if they were going to do Chaos/Metal and the other side characters like Amy, this movie would have been it, then movie 4 would've been Shadow.
I think that black hole looking thing that's sucking everything up might be their version of the eclipse cannon, perhaps that's how Shadow plans to destroy everything in this version

Something I would like to point out is that at 12:16 Tails seems to be near the Ark. The space background in the corner, what I assume is the metallic moustache, I am so curious what's going to happen during that scene.
So great. The music, the casting, the cinematography and animation, it's amazing. A little disappointed that Rouge and Amy aren't in it, but I was blown away by Gerald reuniting with Ivo.
I'm okay with Rouge and Amy not being in this. As Shadow and team Sonic is just enough to keep the story flowing well. Adding two entirely new characters into the mix would've been a bloated mess. Maybe until Movie 4, they'll be there.
What I’m wondering is if the Chaos Emeralds will be in the movie, they probably are saving his "Chaos Control" for the movie or a later trailer but I cannot wait. I am a bit disappointed that Eggman doesn’t have a different outfit but seeing as it’s in tatters when he meets Gerald, it could be that he gets a new one when they launch the Ark.
I'm curious how Gerald will play into this, if he's alive or just a ghost... And how he will work as a villain, if he's manipulating Shadow, maybe also Eggman... I'm also wondering how much of the movie they already showed in the trailer. It feels like the confrontation with Shadow has to be pretty early in the movie, so I feel like the entire 2nd half might be completely unknown territory still. Because it'd feel weird if they wouldn't end up teaming up with Shadow.
I know that would be way too out there, but what if it's not Gerald? What if it's someone else impersonating him? Yeah, no, that's stupid. There's enough intrigue as-is. No need to add more.

One thing about bulgy bellies is simple posture and additionally clothes. If you arch yourself back, obviously your belly is gonna potrude more. Make you look bigger. But Carry as Eggman is always straightened and wearing a coat that very much easily makes him look more broad than bulky. That and the red and black do a good job of covering that bulge.
Im gonna make a prediction. I think Gerald's alive so that we can have an ultimate villain to conquer after Shadow gets redeemed. I bet he's gonna have been creating the biolizard or something for all this time and he'll release it in the third act for Sonic and Shadow to fight
It is funny how relatively easy it is to put Gerald and Eggman meeting each other and how much it is interesting to see the reaction. Narratively it isn't an issue espesically in an alternate story and that back and forth should be fascinating. Unlike the other sonic characters. He is just Eggman in some makeup, that should a lot easier than a full CGI puppet character.
Something I love about this trailer is the references to past games. Obviously Sonic adventure 2 and Shadow the hedgehog, but also the intense orchestral version of Green Hills Zone was just the icing on the cake. So badass, and Keanu was the perfect voice for an ancient alien being. I do hope they have Shadow not be pure evil, but instead misremembering Maria’s wish to him like in adventure 2.

6:55 I feel very strongly about this: I love SA2's story to pieces make no mistake but that part of the story even as a Kid always bothered the heck out of me and I'm glad we're not doing that.
It was a cover up. GUN didn't want the public to know about Project Shadow so they arrested Sonic while they attempted to stop Shadow behind the scenes. That's always been my interpretation of that, anyway

@@NamekianG the real reason was because the model for a scrapped character for SA2, Terios, looked much closer to Sonic than Shadow does, raising the confusion. But the developers ultimately scrapped Terios and brought in Shadow, but the writing and cutscene play-out ended up staying the same
Had they followed through all the way to rewriting that scene for it to make sense, they wouldve also had to rewrite the lockup scene, the helicopter scene, even the concept of Sonic running from the police entirely, changing the name of City Escape and its namesake song Escape from the City
To be frank, this movie is only taking lots of inspiration from SA2, but they're also keeping things original to the film. Cause if this is a one-to-one recreational of the SA2 storyline, it probably wouldn't work cause that story alone is WAY too obvious. So, here are some things different, like how Team Sonic were called in by Commander Walters in the need of their help to deal with the whole Shadow situation, and how Team Sonic forms an unlikely alliance with their enemy Dr. Robotnik to confront Shadow, and how Prof. Gerald Robotnik is still alive this time.
I’m betting they have Amy and/or Rouge in here but they’re holding that for another trailer. Fingers crossed. Shadow has such a HUGE presence to him in these scenes.

Here's a sin I'd like to add to the tally, re-O-cting in the title-DING. 2nd sin is GERAL WAS 68 WHEN HE DIED! It's incredible that he could still be alive and walking at 118 let alone escape from GUN.
My only nitpick on the Robotnik look is I wish we got some tall lace up boots. And the inner coat/shirt? had either gold or silver lining would've made this design magnifique.

I stopped thinking about this movie for a while, but this trailer had me pick the hype back up! There’s one big thing that’s been on my mind. Something that spoils the ending of Sonic Adventure 2, and thus, could spoil the ending of this movie. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Shadow created to be a one-time character? One whose sacrificial death was undone because he was just too darn popular? Whether that was the case or not, this movie is an opportunity for the writers to make Shadow’s sacrifice permanent. Yeah, Gerald’s alive, but I doubt that changes the fact that he’s bitter about Maria’s death. I know he’s giving off a comedic edge here, but if it’s not overdone, his hatred for humanity and his plan to destroy them could still come off as genuine.
I think this is less so a Direct Adaptation of Adventure 2 and more so Bringing Inspiration from The "Shadow The Hedgehog" Game itself, What with the Flashbacks, Shadow using Vehicles, causing direct destruction in the city, Sonic talking about eliminating an Alien (Which, i don't think it's going to actually bring in itself as black doom, but more so thinking it is but still) Plus the pose of shadow walking up in front of team sonic as a reveal, reminds me somewhat of the AMV intro cinematic from Shadow's Game-

To be honest.... I'm excited even though it's different from the original story. I feel like it makes sense because they are trying to combine as many of the games and comics at once and I hope that they will make even more movies so that we can meet all characters. I look forward to all the easter eggs too.
I like the direction that the story is going compared to the original. Mainly with Sonic not being mistaken by Shadow which is something that people made fun of even when that came out
My theory is that since Project Shadow is about the cure to all disease/ immortality but they never tap into that except for the prototype still being alive (Biolizard) maybe Gerald achieved it and is why he's still alive
I've never watched any of the Sonic movies _(to the point that when I randomly watched the "I wasn't expecting, but I expected to not expect" scene, I was genuinely surprised at what happened)_ nor the Knuckles TV series, though I've heard a lot about them, good _and_ bad. Similarly, I've never played nor watched a let's play of Adventure 2 _(not even the real time fandub, aside from the more famous scenes),_ though again, I've heard many, many things about it, to the point that while I don't have a "true" opinion on it, I do have an alright perspective on it. And yet, today I decided to watch this Movie-SA2 trailer and GOODNESS GRACIOUS I WANT IT *NOW!* This is fantastic! So much was packed into a single trailer and I love every second of it! And a lot of it is "blink and you'll miss it", too.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this trailer didn’t get me all that hyped like Sonic 2 did back in 2022. I’ll still keep an open mind…maybe the later trailers will be better, and the movie…we’ll see.

@@kairasendo1175 Perhaps Movie Shadow will be like that due to Movie Gerald manipulating him. Gerald did manipulate Shadow in the games by rewriting his memories
So they moved the shadow timeline up in the mythos. It is interesting to see Eggman and Gerald interact.
I’m hoping that Eggman will use the quill Sonic gives him to make Metal Sonic. That would be hype

I love SA2's story to pieces make no mistake but that part of the story even as a Kid always bothered the heck out of me and I'm glad we're not doing that.
It was a cover up. GUN didn't want the public to know about Project Shadow so they arrested Sonic while they attempted to stop Shadow behind the scenes.
That's always been my interpretation of that, anyway

Saying GUN actually thought Shadow was Sonic despite them knowing that Eggman broke Shadow out doesn't make any sense.

@@NamekianG the real reason was because the model for a scrapped character for SA2, Terios, looked much closer to Sonic than Shadow does, raising the confusion. But the developers ultimately scrapped Terios and brought in Shadow, but the writing and cutscene play-out ended up staying the same
Had they followed through all the way to rewriting that scene for it to make sense, they wouldve also had to rewrite the lockup scene, the helicopter scene, even the concept of Sonic running from the police entirely, changing the name of City Escape and its namesake song Escape from the City

To be frank, this movie is only taking lots of inspiration from SA2, but they're also keeping things original to the film.
Cause if this is a one-to-one recreational of the SA2 storyline, it probably wouldn't work cause that story alone is WAY too obvious.
So, here are some things different, like how Team Sonic were called in by Commander Walters in the need of their help to deal with the whole Shadow situation, and how Team Sonic forms an unlikely alliance with their enemy Dr. Robotnik to confront Shadow, and how Prof. Gerald Robotnik is still alive this time.
Some of these changes we're seeing are... interesting. Hopefully they make sense.

Here's a sin I'd like to add to the tally, re-O-cting in the title-DING. 2nd sin is GERAL WAS 68 WHEN HE DIED! It's incredible that he could still be alive and walking at 118 let alone escape from GUN.
I think the movie will take some direction in time travel, which explains Gerald being alive and Robotnik meeting him.

I stopped thinking about this movie for a while, but this trailer had me pick the hype back up!
There’s one big thing that’s been on my mind. Something that spoils the ending of Sonic Adventure 2, and thus, could spoil the ending of this movie.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Shadow created to be a one-time character? One whose sacrificial death was undone because he was just too darn popular? Whether that was the case or not, this movie is an opportunity for the writers to make Shadow’s sacrifice permanent.
Yeah, Gerald’s alive, but I doubt that changes the fact that he’s bitter about Maria’s death. I know he’s giving off a comedic edge here, but if it’s not overdone, his hatred for humanity and his plan to destroy them could still come off as genuine.
I think this is less so a Direct Adaptation of Adventure 2 and more so Bringing Inspiration from The "Shadow The Hedgehog" Game itself, What with the Flashbacks, Shadow using Vehicles, causing direct destruction in the city, Sonic talking about eliminating an Alien (Which, i don't think it's going to actually bring in itself as black doom, but more so thinking it is but still)
Plus the pose of shadow walking up in front of team sonic as a reveal, reminds me somewhat of the AMV intro cinematic from Shadow's Game-

So, I keep seeing say this and can understand where it's coming from. He's not saying "Papa", but "Pap-pap" which is a term used to refer to one's grandfather in the US.

To be honest.... I'm excited even though it's different from the original story. I feel like it makes sense because they are trying to combine as many of the games and comics at once and I hope that they will make even more movies so that we can meet all characters. I look forward to all the easter eggs too.
I like the direction that the story is going compared to the original. Mainly with Sonic not being mistaken by Shadow which is something that people made fun of even when that came out

My theory is that since Project Shadow is about the cure to all disease/ immortality but they never tap into that except for the prototype still being alive (Biolizard) maybe Gerald achieved it and is why he's still alive
I've never watched any of the Sonic movies _(to the point that when I randomly watched the "I wasn't expecting, but I expected to not expect" scene, I was genuinely surprised at what happened)_ nor the Knuckles TV series, though I've heard a lot about them, good _and_ bad. Similarly, I've never played nor watched a let's play of Adventure 2 _(not even the real time fandub, aside from the more famous scenes),_ though again, I've heard many, many things about it, to the point that while I don't have a "true" opinion on it, I do have an alright perspective on it.
And yet, today I decided to watch this Movie-SA2 trailer and GOODNESS GRACIOUS I WANT IT *NOW!* This is fantastic! So much was packed into a single trailer and I love every second of it! And a lot of it is "blink and you'll miss it", too.
