Mephilis being here is very interesting to me and I hope it actually adresses how Sonic 06 stuff like Crisis City is in White Space. Yes there is the theory/headcanon that the Time Eater can bring back times rendered moot or events the characters have experienced regardless of if those events exist anymore but as far as the actual game was concerned, Crisis City is there for specifically out of universe reasons and not addressed by anyone. Also, even if he's just a boss fight, I hope Dan Green comes back and does some lines. I loved his performance as Mephilis. I'd even settle for a decent enough impression.
I mean Blaze says if you complete a mission and go to talk to her that she never imagined she would ever be back at Crisis City again, but that yeah how apparently her memory return of the place was never addressed and seemed to imply og Generations was going to have more story to it but then after Chemical Plant they just stopped with any story cutscenes of past places.
See, I think that white space is really just a place where dead timeline stuff goes All of the remembered zones went there because Time Eater erased them, but Crisis City (and other ‘06 stuff) was already there and Sonic just ran through it anyway to restore it which then restored it into continuity (or, at least, restored everyone’s memory of it). Same for Hidden Valley and Shadow

It was a bit simpler for me to digest this as time eaters ability to consume timelines including those before an “auto correction” (06) and then it landed in white space. Head cannon was that after sonic blew out the flame the 06 timeline was auto corrected then placed on a completely different temporal axis. This explains why time eater can even pull from this to begin with. Or perhaps it’s just better described as time eater reversing erased history. At some point 06 did exist. He went to there to get it.

Sonic did still race Metal in the Bad Future to save Amy, so the Time Eater pulled from there. I do hope this gets properly addressed in at least Shadow Generations since it seemed one of the many questions Sonic Team didn't really wanna bother discussing at the time.

I'm saying Sega retconned its original date, and put it somewhere else on the timeline. But his "latest defeat" would either be from the Apple game, or Frontiers, both of which do not have that kind of ending for Eggman.

I also went "MELDOGILELS" when Mephiles appeared, lol. Sonic x Shadow Generation is definitely gonna be hands down a fun and crazy time full of so much story and everything, Gerald's Journal commercial was definitely really cool and eerie! Loved that a lot. The Side mobile games and other stuff are neat too, but the DC with Sonic characters blew me away. That was awesome to see! Also, I didn't see it in your video, but the fact also plan to put in Keanu Reeves as Movie Shadow in game format for the Generations thing is slammin' too. The style is so charming in game form!

It could reinforce that idea that Shadow has only been moving forward in his life and that to him, the safety of the world is more important to him. Though, I would also like to see how the Shadow of today would talk to what I assume would be Maria and Gerald before the raid on the ARK.
It could also be a scene where she calls him back to his true meaning. Based off the dialogue in the trailer it sounds like Doom is able to manipulate him into destorying stuff, maybe Maria reminds him of his purpose?

Maybe its the Time eater acting on it's own? Maybe Eggman while in control of the time eater actually decided that he could use it to see his family one last time? Probably to even get Shadow off his back.

@@Glitchy588Live It's just speculations to the question, "Modern eggman and classic eggman are using the time eater. So why did they bring Maria and Gerald from the past?" This is a dlc from a remastered game that came out thirteen years ago. It's going to have it's own story that is being told parallel to the main game. Doom wasn't involved with the time eater back in 2011. But now Black doom, Mephalis, and Metal Overlord are now involved thanks to time eater. Which of course is being controlled by Eggman and Classic Eggman. Yet it's apparent that Doom is the main villain of this DLC story and clearly doing it's own thing. So even if my speculations are wrong the only way we can know is when the game comes out.
I know Charriii ended up writting it off but I actually think he was right that them having Mephiles is in part meant to canonize Sonic 06, or at least make it less of a question amongst fans.
My only hope is that for Sonic x Shadow Generations they bring the Sonic Rush level that was in 3DS Generations and actually put it onto the main game. Not only would this clear things up with putting Blaze in a stage from her home game instead of Crisis City but it would be a good way to represent the more modern 2D games. And some stages from post Colors would be dope if they’re giving Shadow Forces and Frontiers content. The biggest thing I’m hoping for is that Sonic doesn’t get fucked over in terms of abilities and that they give him SOMETHING new instead of giving everything to Shadow
I saw someone in the chat wonder if/how they might try to connect Black Doom to the End and I thought about it a lot and something hit me. The end takes the form of a giant dark moon-like celestial body. The Black Comet is like wise a (about city sized) dark celestial body. What if the Black Comet was like a part of The End? Then the Black Arms would have been created from/by a fragment of The End. This of course assumes that The Black Arms are from The Black Comet and they didn't just colonize or migrate to it.

Black Doom is a more personal enemy to Shadow and wasn't erased from the main timeline like Mephiles, that's why.

I am really wondering what they'll do with Maria and Gerald when taking that last little tidbit they showed into. More specifically, how will Shadow react to them. He has put his past behind him but what happens when it stares him in the face. My mind is racing.
Knowing Sega, it’ll probably come down to a choice Shadow has to make. To either see them again, or focus on the threat at hand.
I really hope Shadow gets to talk to Maria though

It could reinforce that idea that Shadow has only been moving forward in his life and that to him, the safety of the world is more important to him. Though, I would also like to see how the Shadow of today would talk to what I assume would be Maria and Gerald before the raid on the ARK.
It could also be a scene where she calls him back to his true meaning. Based off the dialogue in the trailer it sounds like Doom is able to manipulate him into destorying stuff, maybe Maria reminds him of his purpose?
@@vanerey30 I don't know, the dialogue also showcases that Shadow wants nothing more than Black Doom in a casket. I don't think anything Doom says will actually work to his desired effect.
@@castform7 I see your point, but the Doom powers could be affecting his mind; maybe he starts off not wanting to have anything with Doom, but as he unlocks more powers they keep hurting him. We see him gripping his head in pain and we saw him trapped in the Black Arms vines

Maybe its the Time eater acting on it's own? Maybe Eggman while in control of the time eater actually decided that he could use it to see his family one last time? Probably to even get Shadow off his back.

This is a dlc from a remastered game that came out thirteen years ago. It's going to have it's own story that is being told parallel to the main game. Doom wasn't involved with the time eater back in 2011. But now Black doom, Mephalis, and Metal Overlord are now involved thanks to time eater. Which of course is being controlled by Eggman and Classic Eggman. Yet it's apparent that Doom is the main villain of this DLC story and clearly doing it's own thing.
So even if my speculations are wrong the only way we can know is when the game comes out.

I know Charriii ended up writting it off but I actually think he was right that them having Mephiles is in part meant to canonize Sonic 06, or at least make it less of a question amongst fans.
My only hope is that for Sonic x Shadow Generations they bring the Sonic Rush level that was in 3DS Generations and actually put it onto the main game. Not only would this clear things up with putting Blaze in a stage from her home game instead of Crisis City but it would be a good way to represent the more modern 2D games. And some stages from post Colors would be dope if they’re giving Shadow Forces and Frontiers content. The biggest thing I’m hoping for is that Sonic doesn’t get fucked over in terms of abilities and that they give him SOMETHING new instead of giving everything to Shadow

The end takes the form of a giant dark moon-like celestial body.
The Black Comet is like wise a (about city sized) dark celestial body.
What if the Black Comet was like a part of The End?
Then the Black Arms would have been created from/by a fragment of The End.
This of course assumes that The Black Arms are from The Black Comet and they didn't just colonize or migrate to it.
