My friend is a very petite woman. She needed a new - light weight - vacuum so I got her an Elevate Command as a wedding gift with the purple dust bags for $299 brand new directly from Oreck tonight. The filtration, light weight, simplicity and longevity were important factors. She has a Rainbow if she wants to use tools. I think its the best option I could have chosen for the price and criteria. They can last a long time with annual tune-ups, so I will be sure to notify her to do that. Maybe she can ship it to an Oreck service center.
Very nice video, thanks. One thing that has always bothered me in watching a lot of these vacuum tests done in vac stores in the US, is that the vacuums are demonstrated on almost car mat type carpet, like, why? Nobody has carpet like that in their homes...Aside from entrance rugs I suppose.
+NumaticVacuum it's mostly done for the black color because it shows the dirt left behind. In the black rugs are cheaper than installing black carpet. For consistency reason a my videos I've chosen to use the same one. Just like at home I use the same section of carpet testing.
These are very nice machines. Honestly I’ve always had a soft spot for oreck Vacs. Even the basic xl I just love how serviceable they are. Just can’t justify the price tags on them. I picked up a fully loaded riccar r10p not long ago. It’s a vac I can’t believe cost $700 new but it’s nice as hell. I got it for 40 bucks but had to buy that new body duct and couplers for it. I want to get one of these orecks the same way in the future lol.
You can buy them on Amazon sometimes for $150 up; depends on the model you're interested in. Most of the models nowadays are either two speed or automatically adjust. The XLs are great little vacs, easy to repair and maintain, do a wonderful job and last a really long time if you're on a budget.
I a thallus just looked at an Oreck. Opted for the Sebo instead bc of suction and versatility. I agree with you, I didn’t see anything worth $699 in the Oreck Elevate.
How different is the Riccar with the wooden brushroll (R10E and RSL1AC) compared to the metal one? I hear so many people going on about how the metal one can agitate so much better and get so much more sand out of carpet, but next to nothing about the wooden one. Is it really that much better?
+Ryosuke Bukuro I would definitely get an S 30 s or an R 30s you want the wooden brush roller the metal brush roller gets off balance and has plastic end caps and will melt up just like any other plastic roller. With Simplicity and riccar the wooden brush roller is the best option if you must go with those companies.
I really like that TTI for the most part has left Oreck alone They butchered dirt devil and royal but for the most part they’ve kept Oreck the same. Sure they’re a little cheaper made but they’re still pretty good in my opinion. David Oreck shall live on forever!!!
I can definitely see some of the changes are not ideal. I imagine the use of the extra plastic, serial location is due to the new(er) owners of Oreck Corp. They were so easy to work on when I ran an Oreck store
My 22 year Oreck XL just died, so I’m glad to hear the Elevate is so much like the XL because it was a great vacuum.
What did you end up getting and how do you like it?
This was a great unbiased review. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much.

Nice review! I just purchased the Oreck Elevate Conquer.
Very nice video, thanks.

Performance Reviews I see what you mean in that it shows the dirt left behind. In my experience, those rugs are so difficult to get sand out of.
Performance Reviews does the conquer have self propelled like the xl21?
NumaticVacuum most stores also have carpet samples too
The oreck store I go to tests it on not a low pile carpet and not a high pile carpet but more of a medium pile carpet.

What is the best tool not damge the collars? Channel locks?
Oreck made a tool at one time for this.
Orecks are tough, some dude stuck it in a tub of gasoline then turned it on and lit it on fire and it lived lol...
I guess that's one way to measure quality.
A Ford's a good car. I ran my Ex over with mine and it didn't dent!😂
Bruce Solomon holy shit dude....
I need a motor for my oreck touch and can't find one anywhere!!
+Dannial Williams sorry you bought one .if you are the original owner You can bring it to a Oreck store and get it taken care of.

Dirt Devil has also remained the same. They've never really sold the best portable vacuums but they've always sold the best central vacs.
Have you ever serviced a kirby classic 1cr
Could you do a sebo felix vid? Love your vids man 😎

Ha! you mentioned the tube collar wrench!
What's the lifespan of the motor? Will it last? Or is it just a throw-away.
Oreck vacuums have about a 10-20-year life expectancy.
TIP: shit-can the Channellocks, and get yourself a pair of KNIPEX Cobra's. Thank me later.
Central vacs are nice but sadly I live in a apartment .
+580678 consider a canster vaccum like the Miele c1 Homecare.
How about a c2 model ? Are they made in Germany ?
@@580678 all mieles are made in Germany
Looks like Carpet freshener or pet...stuff
Truly US made vacuums?? Ha! I know of only 3!
Not for the last 15 give or take. They are assembled only...and I think that's going away due to the new owners
