+Marlon...glad to hear it. I myself am a former long jumper. Attended olympic trials in 2000. We were so consistent in the old days.
+makalani28 Nice, honored to speak to you. And I look at stats from the old days and even the big jumps were consistent. I am working on research now. My athletes have been very consistent in their jumps though.
The dude from Great Britain is a pretty solid jumper, but Lapierre's penultimate into his jump gets him some HUGE height!!
The USA long jumpers need to learn from Christian Taylor, at the moment they are being athletes rather than competitors. Greg is a competitor, he makes the big jumps when it matters while the others seem to fade at the big meets.
Ok, I need USA to get some consistent long jumpers. I am tired of these guys jumping far when it doesn't matter. And Will Claye needs to lose the cap when jumping, and make the damn team! Come on USA long jumpers!
+makalani28 sir you are right. I am training for the professional level now. I pride myself on consistency. But I had high hopes for the long jumpers this week.

lapierre seems to get more height than anyone else
+Andrew K As I've seen, I think Lapierre was gonna win that by far, but technique let him down MASSIVELY....Rutherford still has the best techniques out of all of them though...so I dont blame him for winning it.
+Flukezterz Ladphanna You're right, Rutherford's power and height isn't superior to his competitors but his technique, especially in his landing, is wonderful
+Andrew K If Lapierre could perhaps get a bit more power and leg swing to compliment his height, he could be amazing
Lapierre has been working with Dan Pfaff and hes changed his take off angle to be not so steep.
he doesnt even really use his arms too

Just thinking......if during runing, the sportman keeps his upper body low until the last step of jumping off. At the step of jumping off, the sportman throws his upper body upwards to gain upward thrust for him going into the flight. In the first half of the flight, the sportman leans his head ackward a bit with his hands still on the front side. At the turning point of height, the sportman leans his upper body forward and throws his hands backward in order to transfer the momentum to his whole body. On landing, is it better to land on the feet than on the butt? Can that save some 0.2m?......Just thinking. See you guys in Rio.
