    Love Marvin. Good single black for lower intermediates (me) to challenge themselves on a non-stop series of features, and enough jank for advanced riders to stay interested.

    Great trails and would be very tricky if wet. Iv'e just come back from where I ride and third day and all dry but pored with rain last 1/2 hour and was soaked through so full pressure wash and wash all my kit. Really enjoyed.

    Super fun looking zone. 🤟It looked like an overcast day, I know Eric rides with a gimbal which helps the Gopro in those conditions. Do you do anything special in lower light scenarios? Were you just chest mounted with a GoPro or were you using the Insta? Settings the same? Thanks for the content.

    • @VanCan
      @VanCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the hero 11 chin mounted. I don't do anything special for low-light besides trying to avoid it.

    I have just watched one of your old videos where you are shopping for a new bike you know the ironic thing about that what is I have literally in the last 2-weeks I've had my mountain disappear out of my back garden yes I had them blocked up but when somebody wants something you know it will not stop them my bikes was nothing special but I made them what I mean by that is that they were all bikes that I bought back to life I've been told early or likely I will never see then again and I can't afford to go out and buy a new bike because that is just not possible in two days circumstances everyone's going through oh well i5 from Chester 🇬🇧

    Debate. At the 7:15 mark, Eric clears the slab fine, but then bonks the rock on the left. It looks fairly obvious that the trail has been eroded from people skidding to stop, and that has removed what is likely 4-6" of soil right next to the rock. Is that a rock that should be removed, because it was likely intended to line the trail, and has now become prominent and serves no purpose, because it is just serving to trash bikes? Or....do you leave that, because you want the trail to continue toward maximum gnar, because it's already a double black?
    Those are the issues we face here in Bentonville/Bella Vista where many of our once-flowing singletrack trails, now have pronounced rocks and roots that have turned several sections on our longer blue loops (20+ miles) into blacks in places. The advanced riders love it, but spots definitely have moved into the single black zone and don't really adhere to the trail rating. Erosion and trail traffic is definitely increasing the difficulty, and it's starting to follow a similar path to Pisgah in some ways....just much earlier stages.

    • @VanCan
      @VanCan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I imagine they’ll move that rock and fix the corner.

    • @TheyForcedMyHandLE
      @TheyForcedMyHandLE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For your local trails, I suppose if they want to keep the trails at their original rating then they should maintain them so they retain the rating. That may require bringing in dirt, moving rocks, etc. if they don't want to cut new trails.

      @@VanCan ....It would certainly seem to serve no purpose other than to eat rear tires and triangles. You will still have some who will throw a fit, saying that's dumbing it down, but I don't always subscribe to that, depending on the circumstances. That's why I wanted to hear your take. Thanks man...enjoy the videos! Would love to come ride the ones you ride the most in the videos, and do an "Arkansas boy goes to Candada" video series for my channel. Sort of a "Let's see what Bentonville really prepares people for...." LOL I can already tell you those raised skinnies....not going to go well with my fear of heights. I cringe just WATCHING you ride those!

    • @willbros1499
      @willbros1499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheyForcedMyHandLE .... Yeah, I think that's the dilemma in some respects. The advanced and high intermediates like it as the trails become more challenging, but then as a tourist destination, and the majority of riders fall into that intermediate zone....it poses the question of when to re-work them to lierally dumb them back down.
      7 years in now on some local singletrack, and we're at that point. It's an interesting dynamic to manage.
