@@intotheverse3363 I can't argue with that. I still think they did a good job with what they had. I think it was ultimately bandai who pushed the DLC, not Dimps. And A17 wasn't the same case. His combos were frame for frame accurate with the anime.

of course xenoverse 2 isn't as good looking as fighterz. first it came out only 1 year after xenoverse 1 and it came out 2 years before fighterz and they had more time designing graphics because of the small amount of characters and maps. I personally like zenoverse 2 a lot

Xenoverse isn't competition for FighterZ in general. One is casual the other is competitive. One has no accolades, and the other has a mountain of awards and accomplishments. This is a video that's just to be fun. It could've been a comparison between any Dragon Ball game because there's so many.
Ignoring the particle effects and such, the character animation on DBFZ shows WAY MORE personality than Xenoverse
Want to know how they’re able to? When 3D animating there’s a feature that can make animation smooth, for example if i put a head looking left and then made another frame where it’s looking right and use the feature it will automatically put frames in-between those 2 frames. In 2 animations you don’t have this so they turned that feature off. Another thing they did is simulate mistakes, in 3D animation there aren’t mistakes. The model is always the same and the proportions always right so to simulate 2 animations they added a ton of joints to every character (they’re able to do that without lagging because there are only 2 models on screen) and change the model very slightly every frame, then they occasionally get proportions wrong on purpose to make some scenes more exaggerated.

1:00 The headbutt craks me up cause XV2 has a massive build up for a little tap. Wer as FightersZ is Quick but the Pose, FXs and sounds make it feel like it could Split the Ground. But I gotta say, with XV having a different engine that makes the animations smoothed out it still looks pretty nice.
The art style of XV makes the game look so shiny and wet, like every character looks modeled with glass and body oil. FighterZ art style is drawn straight from the anime. Much better imo

I dont wanna take sides but, at least on a personal level, I find Fighter's adaptation of moves to be more visually appealing than Xenoverse's. I think it's because of that on-point frame-on-frane adaptation they couls get thanks to the 2D classic arcade point of view
I get that Xenoverse has a much larger variety that I wish FighterZ had such as stages and more characters (even tho the roster is finally looking pretty beefy now), imo this is pretty much the best DB game that perfectly captures the intensity and essence of a DB game in unique ways. It has brought together players from all over: Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Soul Caliber, Marvel v. Capcom, Injustice, and even Smash Bros. players from all around. It’s the first ever comp game for DB. Legit only downside it is what I said above and perhaps even the auto combos and dlc wait times for certain characters (although it’s always worth it), but overall it’s a fucking masterpiece. So when people and salty Xenoverse players say “omg stop comparing them they are two completely different games”, yeah they’re right. FighterZ is on a whole different level, it’s a game that that actually takes skill to compete, will be more of a classic, and definitely more memorable than Xenoverse. As a DB fan, FighterZ is a love letter.

They both would be memorable. With the constant comparison between both games. Bandai loves milking Xeno2 and FighterZ. Luckily FighterZ was made by a better development team. Granted Xeno2 was doomed from the start. Mainly because of it's style and gameplay. I get that FighterZ is a beautiful looking fighting game. In comparison to Xeno series. It's unfortunate because Xenoverse is the only currently playable and decent dragon Ball game where you could make your own character and feel as if your apart of the story. With the last one being dragon Ball ultimate Tenkaichi which was easily forgotten. But we have to remember that Xeno2 had the same publishers for years and same development team for(I may be wrong) Burst limit and older dragon Ball games. While FighterZ has a different development team that made good fighting games.

The issue with XV2 is that its an arena fighter. Almost every arena I've seen has an exploit or setup that ppl use that ruin the game. There is no gameplay. Once a person finds out that one thing in an arena fight that if the other guy not using then its an auto win. In anime fighters game it comes down to skill>moveset. arena is moveset>skill

The hits in dbfz actually look like they hurt it doesnt look like the characters are hitting the air slightly close to the enemy the combos look natural and the animation and graphic style is beautiful i've never liked the XV style Since i always thought they looked like plastic figures preety good ones at that but still dbfz actually looks like the show which is what i'm looking for XV would have done better replicating and upgrading the style of raging blast 1 for their 3d models while the roster is smaller in dbfz each character feels completely Unique as they all have their diferent play Styles and i'm sure that if i pick Yamcha i'll have the same chance of winning as if i had picked Gogeta meaning there are no joke characters meaning the roster picks Quality over quantity

And as i said raging blast 1 looks beautiful to this day beacuse it follows the best formula for anime games. Make it look as much as the anime as you can and enhance it with special effects or whatever like fighterz. But XV tried a more unique style that i didnt really like. Raging blast also has unique animations for their characters the point is making prettier 3d models
If only they could fuse cause I personally love dbxv2 especially their character customisation and the fighting style but I personally love how dbfighterz does their transformations,art style,and little cut scenes in their attacks or the dramatic finishes

One thing that could make Xenoverse better was to make winning more satisfatory. For example, have the camera focus on the defeated opponent while in slow motion, having him say a defeat quote and add a victory pose/outro. I am surprised they didn't make that last one, it is one of the things that made Xenoverse feel rushed and unfinished to me, how do you make a fighting/combat/arena game and add no victory pose?

I like both games but ones a 2016 game the others like 17-18 so I gotta say fighterz is better because it had more development time than dbx2 but if you prefer simple arena combat dbx2 is the way to go if your look for a more skill based fighting go with dbf I don't think any of the two are bad or good there where made is different years :/
Mmm… Gulty Gear Xrd was published in 2015. IMHO, DBFZ just uses its legacy in graphics department.

Of course fighterZ has better looking attacks and blast effects because it's a side scroller so more detail can go into the attacks, blasts, finishers etc..xenoverse is more open so they gotta make the attacks more suitable for the gameplay style.
Edit: me personally, I'mma xenoverse fan more than z fighters. I just respect and love the game for it's old school play style having combos and what not.
fighterz is technically more old school with its combos and the fact that it is 2.5D like the old fighting games like street fighter. But if you're talking about the Budokai games then yeah.
Then explain tekken, DOA, Soul Calibur, Naruto Storm, for its problems Ultimate Tenkaichi's Graphic were the defacto best until fighterz.
Xeno's ugly models, hideous gloss lighting, and underwhelming attack animation isn't a thing because of it being a 3d arena fighter, it's about the lack of care the devs had when making the game.

And the character models look good to me 🤷♂️ and like I said the attacks aren't all that amazing because of the play style. It would take WAAYY to long and cause way to much damage if they made a spirit bomb as big and powerful as it is in the show. Especially when you can use your blast attacks pretty much over and over. It'd be annoying seeing this LOOONG ass animation multiple times just because someone keeps using their ultimate.

And the models are really low poly making the look worse than ultimate Tenkaichi's, they refuse to animate clothes making Broly's fur(?) skirt(?) look awkwardly stiff an the faces are bad, especially their mouths.

I see quite a lot of people talking about graphics and fighting mechanics and to be honest you really cant compare the graphics and gameplay between DBX and FighterZ since one is a full blown 3d game and one is 2.5D. It easier to make a 2.5D game look beautiful and have a better fighting mechanic since its doesn’t really require that much stuff to make compared to a 3D game. Comparing DBX and FighterZ is like comparing the first assassin creed to assassin creed chronicles.

So i just got fighterz today wasn't all for it honestly I'm still not just yet but i bought the DBS Broly SSGSSB Gogeta and Legendary super saiyan broly-Broly is my Favorite sense forever but I'm still getting the hang of the game but owning both games I would say they both have pros and cons so they are roughly equal in my opinion.
Fighterz is WAAY harder to get into because it’s a traditional fighting game, but when you reach that point when you’re able to do simple combos it becomes a blast.
Yeah fighterz is definitely harder to get into cause the combos are more complex but once you learn them the game is fun.

People who don't like fighting games aren't going to like it as much as fans of arena fighters where they can mash buttons and look at super moves. IKR it’s a pretty fun game no joke you can make your own CaC with your own move set along with other races it’s pretty good to me. (Just don’t fight people play events easy fix)
You see, the main difference is fighterz actually has character while xv2 just feels like an empty husk of the characters. In fighterz, hits feel way more satisfying because of the way they were handled, whiel in xv2 they just feel flat and lifeless, and in xv2, EVERYTHING has to be a cinematic so it makes it hard to actually play the game while in fighterz its mostly the supers, and some autocombos which you wont use anyways, that are super cinematic, leaving room for gameplay. Fighterz just feels so much more memorable than xv2, i played xv2 for a while before i quit mostly due to game balance, and ive barely thought about it since, while with fighterz i cant stop playing it because it has better visuals, better balance, and the gameplay is actually fun for once in a dbz game, plus its a competetive fighting game, so of course i would like it, and it likely isnt a game ill forget soon.

FIGHTERZ is better the effects of the combos,moves and the specials resembles that of the 2018 animated movie whilst xenoverse 2 combos ,moves and specials appear to be watered down plus the animation comes no where close to the 2018 animated movie so it just doesn't make you feel as satisfied as how you felt watching the 2018 animated movie as for the other character move sets ,hmph,well lets just say the same reason can be applied😒
