I mean yeah they did to an extent but they only prepared for a decent amount of people from both PC and PS, and with the cross-play the servers just couldn't handle the larger influx of PC players I'd assume... Outside of all that, HD2 is an absolute blast and absolutely recommend it

Halo online literally has a color wheel for color selection and even let you change the light color on your armor too. That alone was more customization options than what infinite offers lol.
MP should've come in the same package as the campaign with earnable armours and a credit system to earn said armours in the same vein as the system used in Reach, if you didn't pay for the game then tough. Bungie: Here is a fully complete game that we updated twice after launch to fix some minor bugs and it has a fully customizable armor system with free colors. 343: Here is a game with like 2 gamemodes, no forge, and like $100k worth of cosmetics at launch, if you don't have anything stronger than a GTX 1060 3gb gl running it.

It was kinda impossible to manually get them all right considering the possible combinations and effects and we still don't know which chest and knee pieces will be crosscore so that's another layer + mythic effect set.
@@OnePlayer480 It's really not impossible. Each core's worth of pieces should use the same connection point, and those points just need to be lined up on each core. Per armor type, they just need to calibrate once per core. Of course, this is 343 we're talking about, the same company that couldn't add new gamemodes due to "ui limitations"

That was my reaction to the AR too. "This is cool; too bad they paywalled it." Played a couple BTB Heavies matches, realized I still like the vehicles and general feel of BTB in other Halos more, and uninstalled again.
Them killing seasons to shunt all armor/skins into a timed event or behind a paywall was one of the final nails in terms of giving a shit about the IP's future. Armors not even important to the game itself, but how can anyone even care about it when they have maintained such a hostile environment with a fetishistic love for holding a majority of it hostage and scalping their own products to scam the devoted. Things really did end with a whimper after all.

Question, wouldn’t 343 had been liable for a lawsuit for falsely advertising us being able to have millions of cross core options on day 1, but then that not being the case? I bought the game expecting that and super pissed when that wasn’t true.
Well, they did claim pre release that a lot of cosmetics would come from playing the game, and would come from a player first mentality. They pulled a textbook bait, and switch, and I'd bet every last dollar that I had that they can be easily sued for it.
The best possible way to implement coatings was for them be patterns you could put on armor/weapons/vehicles that you can independently select colors for. For example, you can add digital camo to your armor, then you could choose the primary, secondary and tertiary colors for it. You can still make tons of patterns AND make your players happy, and arguably make more money since that would definitely create some good will. Don’t charge too much for them, at the *very* most $5 each, and always include a second item with them such as a weapon model or charm. I would absolutely be willing to pay for quality cosmetics that I have free will to customize the way I want instead of a pink, yellow and beige polka dot zebra stripe nightmare or $20 white paint.
I'd be curious to see the stats on which age demographic is actually paying for all this shit. I suspect it's younger players who never got to experience Halo when it was truly great.

No no no, I think you got it confused 343. You see what you were supposed to do is make a battle pass of 50 levels with a majority of the it being new armor pieces and then one or two special bundles in the shop. There is 0 reason why they couldn’t have just made a battlepass with 100 tiers for all of these armor sets or at least most of them for the Mark 4. Wait. There is 1. Money. I forgot. My bad. My only issues last season where netcode, the price of shop items, and the lower amount of items in the BP but still the same price. This shop has taken things WAAAAY too fucking far and Halo Infinite in no way shape or form has earned the right to charge so much for items. Not when the game has “technically” now been considered feature complete with firefight added. With the shop like this and progression still really having no point other than the rank itself and the Master Chief armor, it’s absolutely ridiculous. It may sound entitled of me but this game should’ve had another few years of content or at least updates and seasons till the release of the next Halo game as an apology for the state that Infinite released in. Yes. The game is “Solid-good” right now. But it was shit-mediocre at best for years and just when the game was getting good, they pull the plug and THEN they overcharge us for armors and bundles that could’ve easily just been in a 100 tier BP and then have a few extra bundles. Omega team should’ve been apart of a battlepass. Not a $40-$50 shop bundle. Absolutely insane the level of greed and bullshit that 343 and Microsoft have put us through. The announcement of seasonality ending for Infinite was when I truly lost hope for this game and maybe even the franchise. I’m going into the next game with extreme skepticism and caution. The energy I should’ve had with Infinite.
Everything should be earnable and earnable at a reasonable pace at that, nothing will ever change my opinion on that. We got that with Reach when the gaming industry was well on its way to what we have now.

I got the AR for free. When I first loaded up the game on my PC, it splash advertises those battle passes with the AR. When it loaded up, it said 0 points cost before it loaded up and then it changed to 500 points cost if you don’t click it. So I hopped on my Xbox Series X, and did the same thing, it popped up at zero so I hit buy and it freakin added it. Just happy I was able to swindle big daddy Microsoft with something. So Boys. If anyone is loading up this update for the first time, pay attention and click the shit out of that initial banner ;)
I don’t exactly remember what was said by 343 when that first wave of backlash regarding cross-core customization, but the fact that they claimed it was too difficult to fully implement is just fucking absurd. They just lied and gave you individual sections of armor in order to announce it like “hey look guys were giving you what you wanted in this new content update! Cross customizable gloves!!!” They were not going to give any of this at all unless the fans complained. And how exhausting it is to complain about this game, but when your business model is so anti-consumer you had that shit coming. The faceless suits need to be held responsible, not the Everyman at 343… the only thing the suits understand is income… they don’t gaf how you feel about their product…
the only mode worth playing is husky raid and fire fight and even then the game wasnt made for fun so its still brutal, anything else and your wasting your life grinding the garbage season passes and crazy career ranks at a pan handling speed
I haven't played halo in probably a year but I rocked the default core no cosmetics with the 1 skin that was unlocked as a weekly award if you completed all the challenges that week

I genuinely had a lot of fun playing this game. I held out a bit hoping we'd get a fair amount of content. Month to month, it seemed all we were getting were more items in the shop and i gave up hope.

What’s funny is that Helldivers has MTX out the ass but they are actually reasonably priced. 343 just started hitting their stride with infinite but it’s obvious that the Old management screwed infinite at its launch and it was obvious that the new crew where effectively just going to be cleaning up the mess, I’m hoping the next Game is much more put together. Honestly i feel that 343 can really salvage this if they say that all of infinites cosmetics both paid and BP unlocked will transfer over to the next halo game like how COD did with MW3.
Microtransactions are cool becasue 3-6$ every now and then doesn't hurt you, but when a single cosmetic part costs 20-25$ because it's locked behind a bundle full of stuff you don't want there's nothing "micro" about it. 343 went all-in with the greed mode and wanted to suck out all the money from the players, but thankfully it backfired big times.

The effort and value fell off a cliff. Just for comparison, the Heroes of Reach battle pass included 11 helmets, 10 helmet attachments, 12 chest pieces, 5 sets of shoulders, 5 wrist attachments, 2 sets of knee pads, 2 utility attachments, 9 visors and 12 armor coatings... PLUS a crap ton of other stuff like boosts, stances, emblems, etc.
“This Halo will have 10 year support!!” 3 years after launch they are already winding down but the first 18 months was a disaster so really a year and a half of support
The only thing I can look forward to anymore in Halo is for when the main 343 force moves onto a new game and leaves Infinite in the hands of the "cleanup crew" they left the MCC to.

We were SO close to finally sniffing a proper live service game, then to get completely rug-pulled is hilarious to me. This era of Halo anger then apathy is going to be legendary. While Infinite slowly dies, it’s just going to get funnier.
I hate how they have Cores. Just have Custom Presets and I choose everything from the ground up. I want 10 variations of the Mark IV armor? Then let me make em. No one will top Rocket League for how amazing it's customisation and designing is, I wish more games were like that.
They gave us a 20 tier pass with 5 of them being xp boosts (garbage filler) and barely any armor. Yet it costs over 100 dollars to buy all the armor they added into the shop. But yet they couldn't just make it a battle pass. They would have made more money that way
I actually came back to this game after quitting ranked 4-5 months after launch. It feels a lot better and the multiplayer playlists are actually fun with good maps . Sad to see it finally decent after so long and knowing no one will ever return to this game after how terrible the post launch was. True shame

Bro the fact that Helldivers 2 has a battle pass centric thing, but they give you enough credits that you EARNED, you can save up to actually get the premium battle pass.

It was kinda impossible to manually get them all right considering the possible combinations and effects and we still don't know which chest and knee pieces will be crosscore so that's another layer + mythic effect set.

Per armor type, they just need to calibrate once per core. Of course, this is 343 we're talking about, the same company that couldn't add new gamemodes due to "ui limitations"

Yep, if the next Halo is a fully paid game and NO battlepass systems are in it, I'll be slightly more optimistic. Personally the gameplay of Halos 4 and 5 never bothered me in terms of mechanics, I like seeing new stuff in Halo, especially mechanics form other series, but I swear to Tartarus, if I see another EA level slopfest like Halo Infinite, somebody at 343 is getting glassed.

Still hate the armor coatings, they let us change the colour how we wanted in every other halo except this one
But the coatings allow you to fit more colors, armor texture, camouflage and armour lights than any other halo game.

Question, wouldn’t 343 had been liable for a lawsuit for falsely advertising us being able to have millions of cross core options on day 1, but then that not being the case? I bought the game expecting that and super pissed when that wasn’t true.

The best possible way to implement coatings was for them be patterns you could put on armor/weapons/vehicles that you can independently select colors for. For example, you can add digital camo to your armor, then you could choose the primary, secondary and tertiary colors for it. You can still make tons of patterns AND make your players happy, and arguably make more money since that would definitely create some good will. Don’t charge too much for them, at the *very* most $5 each, and always include a second item with them such as a weapon model or charm. I would absolutely be willing to pay for quality cosmetics that I have free will to customize the way I want instead of a pink, yellow and beige polka dot zebra stripe nightmare or $20 white paint.
It's insane to me that this business model works. Thank you for shitting all over it.

My only issues last season where netcode, the price of shop items, and the lower amount of items in the BP but still the same price.

Yes. The game is “Solid-good” right now. The announcement of seasonality ending for Infinite was when I truly lost hope for this game and maybe even the franchise. I’m going into the next game with extreme skepticism and caution. The energy I should’ve had with Infinite.
Everything should be earnable and earnable at a reasonable pace at that, nothing will ever change my opinion on that. We got that with Reach when the gaming industry was well on its way to what we have now.

I got the AR for free. When I first loaded up the game on my PC, it splash advertises those battle passes with the AR. When it loaded up, it said 0 points cost before it loaded up and then it changed to 500 points cost if you don’t click it. So I hopped on my Xbox Series X, and did the same thing, it popped up at zero so I hit buy and it freakin added it. Just happy I was able to swindle big daddy Microsoft with something. So Boys. If anyone is loading up this update for the first time, pay attention and click the shit out of that initial banner ;)

I don’t exactly remember what was said by 343 when that first wave of backlash regarding cross-core customization, but the fact that they claimed it was too difficult to fully implement is just fucking absurd. They just lied and gave you individual sections of armor in order to announce it like “hey look guys were giving you what you wanted in this new content update! Cross customizable gloves!!!” They were not going to give any of this at all unless the fans complained. And how exhausting it is to complain about this game, but when your business model is so anti-consumer you had that shit coming. The faceless suits need to be held responsible, not the Everyman at 343… the only thing the suits understand is income… they don’t gaf how you feel about their product…
the only mode worth playing is husky raid and fire fight and even then the game wasnt made for fun so its still brutal, anything else and your wasting your life grinding the garbage season passes and crazy career ranks at a pan handling speed
I haven't played halo in probably a year but I rocked the default core no cosmetics with the 1 skin that was unlocked as a weekly award if you completed all the challenges that week

I genuinely had a lot of fun playing this game. I held out a bit hoping we'd get a fair amount of content. Month to month, it seemed all we were getting were more items in the shop and i gave up hope.

Microtransactions are cool becasue 3-6$ every now and then doesn't hurt you, but when a single cosmetic part costs 20-25$ because it's locked behind a bundle full of stuff you don't want there's nothing "micro" about it. 343 went all-in with the greed mode and wanted to suck out all the money from the players, but thankfully it backfired big times.

The effort and value fell off a cliff. Just for comparison, the Heroes of Reach battle pass included 11 helmets, 10 helmet attachments, 12 chest pieces, 5 sets of shoulders, 5 wrist attachments, 2 sets of knee pads, 2 utility attachments, 9 visors and 12 armor coatings... PLUS a crap ton of other stuff like boosts, stances, emblems, etc.
All of those armour sets in the shop could have been an epic battle pass. But alas the shop is the center of their updates I feel like.
The Halo IP has now officially been in the hands of 343 longer than Bungie ever had it. And this is where we're at.

Although tragic, I think it's for the better that they're on to the next. It was pretty clear in month 3 after release that it would be unsalvageable.

They gave us a 20 tier pass with 5 of them being xp boosts (garbage filler) and barely any armor. Yet it costs over 100 dollars to buy all the armor they added into the shop. But yet they couldn't just make it a battle pass. They would have made more money that way

I actually came back to this game after quitting ranked 4-5 months after launch. It feels a lot better and the multiplayer playlists are actually fun with good maps . Sad to see it finally decent after so long and knowing no one will ever return to this game after how terrible the post launch was. True shame
I cant believe bcz people skipped 10 dollars seasons so they scrapped seasons and sold omega team like only the last 2 were worth it
