Pierre Hintze didn't really save MCC. He half assed the effort and cut support after the "old leadership" got axed. There still isn't a modded CGB, full campaign cross-play, and a lot of cheaters in matchmaking.
Certain affinity did. We may have gotten those things but they wanted to monetized MCC in people over Furious about it So they pretty much axed support

As someone who actually does some gamedev stuff himself: the switch to Unreal engine is clutch, but not because of the graphics. UE is very opinionated on how you structure your game and does a lot of the heavy lifting for you (path finding, behaviour trees for AI etc.) so people can focus on what matters: building the game. If everything fails, at least they cant hide behind the technical debt excuse this time
They switch to Unreal Engine 5 because Unreal is the engine most contractors are able to use, that's the only reason they are switching to Unreal, so the people coming to work on the games for a year don't have to be trained.
The fact the community managers who have only ever attacked the community and actively help fuel the flames of how awful 343 is are still around very clearly establishes the culture hasn’t changed in the slightest. A halo studio actually committed to changing their identity and being actually focused on appealing to the halo community and not the ‘modern audience’ would have immediately fired those assholes.
Halo CE's main focal point when they first showed it off was that the maps you were put on also had layers without needing a loading screen Halo was a showcase in its POWER not its fucking graphical fidelity

Narrative wise, I wish they’d reveal that Chief is indeed the last of the few Spartans remaining as the only ones who are left aside from Chief should be red team who were stranded with the MIA Spirit of Fire that’s across the galaxy, and Noble Six who just barely survived Reach and is the only other spartan to make it off Reach aside from Chief. By having it like this, you can have the select well established other Spartans not dead and can return in a future project, and most importantly you reestablish that Chief was the last active Spartan during the original trilogy, which reinstates him as being the last line of defence for humanity that made him the icon he became in not only that world but ours as well in the video game industry.
It's kinda funny, how the older graphics did a better job of actually making the armor look metallic. 343's always looks a bit too plastic-like or toy-like.

@@alessandro348 I think that's a huge part as to why Halo 3 has aged so well, part of it being due to its beautiful lighting engine. Which is why I think Halo 3 really can't be remastered, the most you could probably do is upscale the textures on the human models and in a few other areas.
Not to mention the abysmal artstyle with things like neon pink rocket explosions that look like water balloons popping. Fidelity isn't gonna fix bad choices lol
Forced crossplay, desync, unresponsive controls, awful SBMM, global matchmaking, RNG playlists, the list goes on and on, but the engine/graphics were Infinite's least issues, if at all. You can swap the engine, rename the studio, put all the smokes and mirrors you want, but the next game will still be the exact same unplayable mess because it's gonna be made by the exact same incompetent people.
The new Master Chief looks way too clean, that's what gives it the Fortnite look. It would look 100% better if they just added some dirt and scratches to the armor.
The original Halo Infinite armour looked that way too. They added more scratches and wear to the suit in later iterations, so hopefully they’d do the same with this model too.

Its almost like there is a very simple solution to this issue that has been a blight upon halo for over 10 years. What if, now hear me out here. What if we just give halo to someone else? Eh? What if the studio that got the tag "fire 343i" trending on twitter for a week isnt the best match for halo? But hey, what do i know. Also a little fun 343i fact: When cross core helmets came to infinite, all bundle prices with helmets in them were raised to match the new "added value."
It made me sad when they specifically talked about Halo being a graphical showcase, technically it was, but reality is you had people that wanted to make an awesome game, not a graphics showcase. The graphics were amazing because they wanted to make it look better after they made a fun game and even after all that they still weren't happy with how it turned out, they kept wanting to make it better and more fun. Making a graphics showcase first and a fun game later (if at all) isn't going to do anything for the Halo franchise. They need to nail the Halo feel, making it fun, & giving it that "We want this to be a game that you come back to" aspect (replayability like Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, & Halo Reach). I still go back and play all of these games. I played through 4 and was disappointed, held off on purchasing 5 because of this and I was only happy to save $60 after launch. None of these games felt like Halo, none of these games were/looked fun (to me). I'm not really sure about the "change" they made for halo studios, but like everybody else right now, I just have to wait and see if this is even gonna be a banger like Halo CE was.
One thing I always see that's a pattern with 343i(halo studios now) is they always try to make a halo game or project AS LITTLE as a HALO PRODUCT(hence why they didn't make their logo with the classic "halo" font). For some reason they would rather try to do something different instead of make it feel like bungie era halo. Like they want to take the glory but not want to carry bungies legacy.
One red flag I have to point out is the fact they showed the same forerunner structure like 4 different times. They literally just copied and pasted the same thing in a couple different biomes (plus the one that's covered in flood spores). Also the forerunner structures don't give off an ancient vibe like the original games. They give off more of a general sci-fi theme like 343's games normally have.
Until they clear out most of their top brass, that are making decisions that do not improve aspects of their games for gamers, I remain very skeptical on Halo Studios.

Narrative wise, I wish they’d reveal that Chief is indeed the last of the few Spartans remaining as the only ones who are left aside from Chief should be red team who were stranded with the MIA Spirit of Fire that’s across the galaxy, and Noble Six who just barely survived Reach and is the only other spartan to make it off Reach aside from Chief. By having it like this, you can have the select well established other Spartans not dead and can return in a future project, and most importantly you reestablish that Chief was the last active Spartan during the original trilogy, which reinstates him as being the last line of defence for humanity that made him the icon he became in not only that world but ours as well in the video game industry.
This name change was about as convincing as your girlfriend who cheated on you 4 times telling you she loves you.

It's kinda funny, how the older graphics did a better job of actually making the armor look metallic. 343's always looks a bit too plastic-like or toy-like.

Lot of devs seem to think texture resolution = good graphics when light is much more important, good lighting can save poor textures but bad lighting ruins high res textures.
@@alessandro348 I think that's a huge part as to why Halo 3 has aged so well, part of it being due to its beautiful lighting engine. Which is why I think Halo 3 really can't be remastered, the most you could probably do is upscale the textures on the human models and in a few other areas.
Not to mention the abysmal artstyle with things like neon pink rocket explosions that look like water balloons popping. Fidelity isn't gonna fix bad choices lol
Forced crossplay, desync, unresponsive controls, awful SBMM, global matchmaking, RNG playlists, the list goes on and on, but the engine/graphics were Infinite's least issues, if at all. You can swap the engine, rename the studio, put all the smokes and mirrors you want, but the next game will still be the exact same unplayable mess because it's gonna be made by the exact same incompetent people.
Its halo watered down because of our current state of our societies culture. Everything has to be pandered to a hyper sensitive group of nobodies.
The new Master Chief looks way too clean, that's what gives it the Fortnite look. It would look 100% better if they just added some dirt and scratches to the armor.
The original Halo Infinite armour looked that way too. They added more scratches and wear to the suit in later iterations, so hopefully they’d do the same with this model too.

It made me sad when they specifically talked about Halo being a graphical showcase, technically it was, but reality is you had people that wanted to make an awesome game, not a graphics showcase. The graphics were amazing because they wanted to make it look better after they made a fun game and even after all that they still weren't happy with how it turned out, they kept wanting to make it better and more fun. Making a graphics showcase first and a fun game later (if at all) isn't going to do anything for the Halo franchise. They need to nail the Halo feel, making it fun, & giving it that "We want this to be a game that you come back to" aspect (replayability like Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, & Halo Reach). I still go back and play all of these games. I played through 4 and was disappointed, held off on purchasing 5 because of this and I was only happy to save $60 after launch. None of these games felt like Halo, none of these games were/looked fun (to me). I'm not really sure about the "change" they made for halo studios, but like everybody else right now, I just have to wait and see if this is even gonna be a banger like Halo CE was.
One thing I always see that's a pattern with 343i(halo studios now) is they always try to make a halo game or project AS LITTLE as a HALO PRODUCT(hence why they didn't make their logo with the classic "halo" font). For some reason they would rather try to do something different instead of make it feel like bungie era halo. Like they want to take the glory but not want to carry bungies legacy.

One red flag I have to point out is the fact they showed the same forerunner structure like 4 different times. They literally just copied and pasted the same thing in a couple different biomes (plus the one that's covered in flood spores). Also the forerunner structures don't give off an ancient vibe like the original games. They give off more of a general sci-fi theme like 343's games normally have.

Until they clear out most of their top brass, that are making decisions that do not improve aspects of their games for gamers, I remain very skeptical on Halo Studios.

the reason why master chief looks off in ue5 is the same reason why zelda games look off in ue. different art styles with their engines. halo 3 looks amazing on pc. the 360 really held back halo 3. you can see that now that you can play it on pc
