As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t get any bigger than Bob. Those songs are so amazing and an imprint on my life. Thank you, Bob for all of that great music!
AWESOME Interview Guys. Would be cool to get a double interview with Bob Daisley and Jake E. Lee at the same time. That would be a great interview. Just a thought. CHEERS ! and btw , I hope Jake is mending well and fast. He's my fave guitar player of all time.. Rock On!
What a fantastic show Mark and Dave. Bob's book is the best overview of one's career I've ever read. Absolutely outstanding Bob. The stories Bob told in this episode were brilliant. Tone talk absolutely rocks and hat's off to you Dave and Mark. Cheers.
people who want the truth, should read bob's book, Rudy Sarzo's book, Steve Machat's book....Gary Sharpe-Young';s book All have common threads that expose ozzy and sharon lies
Loved that Jake got to say hi to Bob! Would love to see them together again. Bob is great in every way. I see something about or with Daisley ,I'm definitely watching/listening. Thank you Bob!!!!!!
Missed this. Had to work. Listening now. Such a great musician. So humble while being incredibly talented. I wish him the best. If you’re reading this Bob thank you so much for all the great music! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great episode. Bob did not disappoint - I could listen to his reminiscences for days on end. And anyone who feels the same way owes it to themselves to pick up _For Fact's Sake_. Great book.
CD's came out in 82--83. My friend got a CD player in 85 and The Ultimate Sin was the first CD I ever heard. It sounded freaking incredible through his system.
Great interview, as always. Love Bob’s contributions to music, he just has that knack for songwriting, and should be rewarded for it. Geezer, another great lyricist who covered Ozzy’s arse in Black Sabbath. Reb Beach would be a great guest ;)
This is one of your best episodes amazing information x Dave looked fascinated and Marc you seemed to bond really well with Bob 10/10 episode one of the channels best x And great Jake sent that message top man x
Great guy. Great player. Great feeling and tone. Great songwriter. Both, lyrics and music. Sad, that he and Jake E. Lee never joined forces again after their departure from Ozz.
I need to get Bob's book. Definitely get a Bob and Jake interview going, that would be amazing, I bet there is a lot that will only come up with both of the legends on the same call, or better yet if it was possible to have them in the same room!
people who want to know the truth on Ozzy need to get Bob's book, Rudy's book, Steve Machat's book which absolutely takes the hatchet to the Osbournes as he was the guy handling and negotiating the deals. I just sent Steve a note letting him know he got a mention on this show.
25:35 CD's came out in Japan in October of 1982. Billy Joel's 1978 album, 52nd Street was the first pop/rock title released in Japan. The players were around a $1000....In January of 1983, Rolling Stone Magazine printed an article titled "The Digital Revolution. Will The Compact Disc Make The LP Obsolete?". Sony (who built the world's first CD pressing plant) was producing 10,000 CD players per month (And 300,000 CD's per month). The running time of a CD was determined to be 74 minutes and 42 seconds in order to fit the entire 9th Symphony by Beethoven on a single disc. The initial retail price of a CD was $16.95. By 1984, Record Companies raked over a $104 million in CD sales. Michael Jackson was the first artist to negotiate a contract that included a cut from sales of CD's.
Another fantastic episode, full of great stories and true insights into some of the greatest metal music ever put on record. Would've been timeless to have Jake and Bob reunite here after such a long time, two masters in their craft, but i suppose Jake is still recovering. Next time! Thank you Marc and Dave, you guys rock.
Great talk with Bob, hope you'll have him back. Going to get his book. Sharon's terrible but so is Ozzy. He owns all that nonsense after the first 20 times.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen in quite some time. Would love to see Jake get well enough to come on with Bob again, and hopefully he recovers so he can play again as well! Would love to have him involved in the album if he’s willing. A little reunion for Bob and him! Happy to connect you all, Bob has been telling me for some time he’s been trying to reach out to Jake so I’m really pleased this worked out. For the record, yes I didn’t know Bob played with Gary but Bob is the reason I even play and write music, so I certainly had my jaw on the floor when I realized WHICH bob hahah! Thanks for the great interview guys! I’m originally from Detroit myself, would love to play a Friedman eventually!
This is a blessing, i never thought you would have such a great Musician, i have been listening to since i was a kid in the late 70s, Get the Book, it is worth every penny, Jan
Great and lengthy interview, thank you for this and keep 'em coming! Bob and Lee have been all time favorites as a rhythm section as well as writing partners. Noticed, though, that usually Bob is asked to mirror other ppl doings and events in interviews, although this one had also some insights ex. the doamm verse part. It would be super great, say, if you could hook up Bob and Jake to go trough the writing of some classic songs together and how did Bob approach writing the lyrics for them. Would put a spotlight to both of them and what they are professionally known for. I for example appreciate the sophistication of Jakes chord voicing and rhythmic choices, then also Bobs compositional abilities to craft a song with right amount of everything.
Do it please Bob. Read out the Audiobook. It's a great record of history and to be read out by you would make it even more special. Thanks for all you do!
or asking Dave questions....the gear questions are ignorant, Bob was concerned his stuff, not what Randy was doing except recording his parts correctly
I never understand why members, when fired, don't form bands to keep the momentum going. Just imagine Bob and Lee teaming up with Jake and a vocalist like Ray Gillan and using the exposure of Qzzy to their advantage
I just found and bought Bob's Gary Moore tribute CD. I can't wait to get it and crank it up. I was just working on Empty Rooms through my Friedman Small Box tonight. And all three transcriptions have a lot differences. Wish I could remember how I played it back in the day. Thankfully some muscle memory is kicking in a little.
Bob very loyal to Gary's memory and legacy, awesome album, wish it had some of the rockers but that is not the genre it is focused on, Bob is the guy who told Gary to do a blues album
Great interview - Bob's book is awesome and very thorough! On a side note - you guys have brought up the subject of the mix of Bark At The Moon a couple of times - with Bob here as well as previously with Jake. Since it's never been talked about, I'm guessing that neither Bob nor Jake know about the 2002 re-release of the album, which was completely remixed. Most of the reverb is gone, the drums are more prominent, and the sound is beefed up considerably. They also mixed in a few different guitar parts that weren't in the original mix. This release was not really publicized at all. Personally, I think it sounds way better than the original mix by far. I strongly recommend you guys go hunt it down before you have Jake back on the show. Keep up the great work!
You guys should invite Fredrik Åkesson of Opeth on the show. He digs Van Halen (in my opinion did very vanhalenish tracks for Ghost's Impera album), they recorded the new Opeth album with an old Friedman BE-100 and played with brown box lowering the voltage on that record. They also play Synergy live with SLO-2 and Fryette Deliverance modules. Killer player, chill guitar gear nerd.
Great job even considering Bob Daisley! His work with early Gary Moore is fantastic! Although I think a lot of his bass was way to far back in the mixes - especially with Ozzy. Get an EQ or a good sub-woofer to really appreciate his contribution to those great songs!
Somebody wrote a book on Bon and researched his death extensively. He believes it’s likely Bon overdosed on heroin, died, and the people he was with just left him in the car until the next day. He didn’t freeze to death.
What a shame to push Bob thru the rifts over and over, RNRHOF don't mean shit, can people just get on, we ALL know how important his contributions are. What a gem of a gentleman, you are, Bob!
@@tone-talk You guys did a great job, and I know some of this had to be hashed out, I wish there had been more time to dig into more Gary Moore stuff and so much of his other work. Hope he comes back for more....or Moore!
Bob wrote a book, he is very open to talking about stuff. This is why he does these interviews, no subjects are taboo with Bob. But the point was how did Bob feel and to get it out in the open, we all knew the answer. Bob is an all time legend
I listened to the AVH book too. It was not hard to see why it went over like a lead balloon. At best, it was better as a book written and not released. At worst, it's a book that's shaky on key facts, leaves out more than half of the story, and once again highlights extreme dysfunction, bitterness, and ignorance from those in the VH camp. It was honestly too bad, wish I had not listened to it.
Alex wanted to cover up that original Roth ERA...and talk about the brothers upbringing. It has gone over incredibly well and Alex is doing a great job with the press and fans
Without Bob Daisley, Randy Rhoads, Lee Kerslake, Brad Gillis, Rudy Sarzo, Jake E Lee, Zakk Wylde, Tommy Aldridge, Don Airey, etc., Ozzy would never have had a solo career and would be in the “where are they now” category. Yes, he sang the songs and created the branding along with his wife. These musicians and song writers deserve the majority of the credit and financial rewards that his wife screwed them all out of.
you forgot one very important figure in all of this. Dana Strum Without Dana, no Randy to Ozzy no Jake ... that is who these guys should get on this show.
As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t get any bigger than Bob. Those songs are so amazing and an imprint on my life. Thank you, Bob for all of that great music!

Little Dolls is so cool. Some of his best vocals and vocal arrangements. And Kerslake!
What a legend, have read the book and will highly recommend :)
THANKS BOB! Would love a part two.
we all would
Great show. Bob seems all class.
Always does.
Thanks guys, this was great!‼
Daisley is such a brilliant musician and writer and a great storyteller. Legend. Thanks for the interview!
Everyone get Bob's book. It's a must read if you are a fan of Bob and all the incredible music he wrote, played on and created.
I am dying to read the book but Amazon says it's out of print!

@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle perhaps we can change that if Jake is feeling up to it!
Always nice to see Bob Daisley getting his long overdue respect, Bob Daisley is one of my very favorite Bass players, along with Billy Cox…🎸
he is arguably the most underappreciated bassist in rock history, played with so many greats.
Pretty sure he had the respect.... too bad Sharon ripped everyone off. Ozzy should have grown a pair and told her the deal
2 greats

A great guest to get for this show, Dana Strum I will make donations galore if that happens
I woke up two a few texts that I should watch this, unfortunately I could not participate live.
Bob is an all time A leaguer
Bob Daisley is an unsung legend.

Great show, so happy to hear directly from Bob clearing up stories we've heard over the years. Looking forward to part 2
part 2 is awesome they should get Dana Strum on the show

This was a great interview. When you guys were taking about the greatest white blue guitarist I would put SRV in that spot.
SRV is an absolute B leaguer, did not write a lot of the music he is known for
You should have Bob on again and have Jake also!!
Have em on together for a pure Q&A, 75 to 90 min. That would be an easy outline of a killer show indeed
reunite them with Tommy Aldridge
