Please don't feel like you HAVE to do the fox eye trend

- So here's the thing..you should do your makeup so that it suits your face and your preference. PLEASE don't feel like you have to wear a winged liner, or do this snatched eyeliner just because other people are. And I know it can be hard to decide what's most flattering for you, especially if you have hooded lids or a lower creasy fold like me.. 😂 Thank you to Qveen Herby and whoever does her classic makeup looking for inspiring this vid. So let's talk eye contouring!

the way the smallest details can change the whole face is so wild to me
MAKEUP 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I think that's because human faces differ by very subtle differences (by millimetres). So tiny changes here and there totally change the face!
Saima I that's very true actually that would make sense
Smalles details? s m a l l ?

I so appreciate that she is teaching people to think for themselves. I’m sick of everyone doing the same makeup and taking the same photos for Instagram.

I've been pain stakingly waiting for educational makeup content for years
I absolutely love her videos. They are short, enjoyable and put so much into perspective. The newest trend is not the better way of doing things than the previous one, it's just a different way and we get so caught up with following them that we forget that.
LOUDERR
I dunno but she reminds me of my teacher that is so great at teaching to us but the humor is INSANE
😂😘
I see that!!
No hate or anything but i feel like shes not really funny imo but shes very helpful
@@randomperson-de1rs No hate or anything but I didn’t see anybody asking you ;)
This girl is a teacher, others are talk show host.
Omgosh you nailed it 🙌
Those "saggy undereye wrinkles" are a big trend in Korea, and with big I mean that a lot of girls wants them so much they get filler injected or fake them with makeup.
They call'em "Aegyo-sal", that means something like "cute eye bags"... It's considered a beauty trait, I used to hate mine too until a Korean friend told I was lucky to have them.
I know this comment may sound useless, I decided to write it just to say that often we don't like characteristics of our physical appearance that in different cultures are considered a quality :3
Yeah it makes your eyes look like you dont have monolids, since asian face structures dont allow for the eye to set into the face deeply usually
Aegyo Sal is very different from undereye bags
Aside from giving the illusion of rounder eyes, aegyo sal is also popular because it makes the face look smaller and more “youthful”
It's not the wrinkles, it's a fuller undereye. A lot of Asians have this. But it's not a "wrinkled undereye" is literally the opposite
aegyo sal is literally the opposite of undereye bags...... it’s a thicker/fattier undereye that gives the face a more youthful appearance.
I love how you talk about creating shapes and planes. A lot of tutorials are just like "just put this color there", but not why.
I feel like you make it easier to abstract and adapt techniques and concepts for myself instead of just mimicking a look.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Totally agree with every word!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Well said!
Exactly! That’s what a real beauty influencer is, not all those big names in the beauty community who only brought drama and taught me absolutely nothing
Literally who does that?
I feel like makeup does not have any specific rules. One trend or application or style might suit one but not another. Also, i might like the way i do my makeup but somebody would prefer it done differently. Anyone getting my point? 😅
Totally. People tell me to do my makeup differently ALL the time 😂 It's always personal preference first ❤️
yes!!
"it doesn't have rules but it has theory" - Robert Welsh
Greta Belle THE KING 🙌🏼
I get what the original poster meant but I heard Robert’s voice immediately 😂
This makeup suits you. You look kinda like a lead role in a french movie.
Agreed!
Like Sabine in Mr Bean’s holiday?
Seberg in À Bout de Souffle vibes. But always.
TETEI blues YES!!
M S lol I know. Just my initial thought because Sabine was French and they were going to a French movie festival.
I would like to have people be taught about make up to suit their face instead of copying someone else's trend. Bushy brows/feather brows won't suit everyone, eyeliner won't suit everyone, fox eye won't suit everyone, not even every blush color suits everyone. It's literally about finding what works best for your face and not tell anyone their technique is wrong bc it's not trendy. I ditched the trends and decided to experiment in my own home with make up placement took pics and viewed them over the course of days/weeks (I work in a lab so I don't really wear make up out a lot).
Yes!
« It doesn’t suit everyone. » This statement is problematic, allow me to explain why.
You’re saying that there are things that suit or don’t suit someone. Which means there things that look beautiful on someone and things that look ugly. But things can only look « ugly » in opposition to something that is considered « beautiful ».
It doesn’t make sense to say something is “long”; something is long in opposition to something that is considered “short” - it’s all relative.
And so, basically, you’re implying that there’s some kind of objective beauty standard women have to conform to, and that different make up techniques will work for different women in order to achieve that beauty standard.
For example: if Angelina Jolie was considered as the beauty reference in our society, then women with small lips would have to make their lips bigger by overlining them, but women who already have big lips shouldn’t do that because they already achieved that result naturally and would look “weird” if they did, ie it wouldn’t « suit them ». You say this more explicitly when you say that « you have to find things that suit your face shape the best ».
What does it mean when you say that bushy brows or a cat eye don’t suit everyone? Who said so? Compared to what beauty standard?
This similarity happens in fashion, but we talk about it less. The most beautiful body type for women is considered to be the X shape. So the clothes you wear have to trick the eye into thinking that you have that shape - that’s when we know clothes “suit” somebody or not. For example: we typically say that a woman with big shoulders and narrow hips shouldn’t wear clothes that accentuate that body type, like big, puffy tops and pencils skirts. Instead, she should wear A-line skirts and accentuate her waist - that is what suits her body shape the best, ie makes her looks like an X shape the most.
I know it’s an unconscious mistake that many ppl make and that you meant well, but if you look into it close enough, you’ll notice it doesn’t make sense and is actually hypocritical: it goes completely against this body positivity message ppl are recently trying to make across.
@@rtybn456 I understand your point, but I think you can easaly say that something does't suit someone.
For Exampel, my best friend has a Pullover she looks beautifull in it. It makes her confident and emphasize her inner beauty. :)
But when I try it on, it just feels wrong. I don't compare me with her, but I have other features and it just doesn't fit with them.
@@rtybn456 some eye looks just don't work on certain eye shapes and that's okay. It just doesn't suit people with specific eye shapes. That's okay and not problematic? Seriously, what drugs are you on?
say it louder
I SO appreciate you saying "this is the crease of my SKIN but this is the crease of my EYE"! I think so many people misunderstand when TH-camrs just say the crease. Specially for us hooded chicks, the socket of the eye and the crease are in different places. And I think some people just don't understand when TH-camrs aren't specific enough.
I have hooded eyes and there is literally no crease and I was so confused for the longest time and thought i was just bad at eyeshadow
^^^^ THIS!! I didn’t know I had hooded eyes until like 5 years into makeup and Im still relearning how to make my makeup look how it does in videos on TH-cam. It was a game changer when I realized I just had to apply things differently than it’s usually shown
Sometimes it's all in how you communicate things to people. The right wording can change everything.
Yes this was SOOOOO helpful for me. When I've followed makeup tutorials I wouldn't understand why mine didn't come out right when following along and I think this will help tremendously.
i still have trouble shading the crease. hooded eyelids r so tricky
I love how educational her channel is. She explains why all the colours change the shape, truly great. Love from Sweden

Ah, ive always loved “classic” makeup the most and i honestly dont get why people dont do it more. This light brown shadow with some eyeliner and a bold lip is so timeless and looks good on so many people.
Taiga! 😂💕
right
Sameeee
It honestly just depends on personal style. Sometimes I like doing classic brown, other times I just want to look emo with red eyelids

Oh my goodness both of you are gorgeous 😍💜🖤 wow so much talent tbh
WE LOVE U QVEEN HERBY 😭💖💞
I freaked when she pulled out your pic!
This is the type of video i expect when i hear the words "beauty community"
Yes same! This gives me the same feeling I got when I would recreate Michelle Phan's makeup as a young girl, easy to follow and all about the makeup. It feels as if a lot of "makeup" videos now are overly edited consumerist bullshit where they do all the makeup off camera and speak nonsense the rest of the video... maybe some people's cup of tea but not mine, I'd rather know how to do these things and feel beautiful in the process!
BubbaYang yess she reminds me of bailey sarian a bit
Amen to that!
this is such a powerful message i never see on anyone's channel... we're all different and trends never work for each and every person in the world. we all have different eye shapes, lip shapes, eyebrow shapes, face shapes and there should be more people like you that sent this same message! we can follow the trends but we're never gonna look exactly like the person behind the camera, we have to try and make it work for our own face! there's no right or wrong way to do it so we should never feel like we HAVE to follow a specific trend just because someone with the perfect face shape for it wears it!!!
This is why so many people love Alex. She's such a nice, kind person. IMO, that is what is missing in the world these days- normality. Being a good, sweet and genuine person.
Look into Kibbe you might enjoy it
I’m indifferent towards the way the fox eye trend looks on people, the only problem I have with it is when people pull the skin around their eyes back to exaggerate it when posing. Makes me uncomfortable.
If you have to pull on your eye, you've either done it wrong, or it's not for you
cicada300 Haha yep, funny seeing teens looking like sultry 24 year olds on the outside (well, physically) until you see a picture of them doing that and the mask has slipped 🤭😂
cicada300 Ah, well, it makes me uncomfortable as someone of Asian descent. But yeah, they’re probably not doing it right anyway if they’re having to tug on the skin around their eyes lol.
@@sophiajennxy yeah it's incredibly tone deaf on top of it. I and some of my other Asian friends/S.O almost find it worse than someone pulling their eyes up to be an asshole, at least they know what they're doing is shitty. Like, it's not as though it's something they shouldn't already know is a problem. It's almost similar to when there were non-black people doing the "black beauty makeup" a little while ago by using dark foundation. Not quite that level of dumb, but close.
If someone mixes up and thinks say a hanbok is Chinese(well, not entirely in correct)/Japanese, it's probably an honest mistake and you're not really going to expect most people to differentiate traditional/formal wear from other countries/cultures.
That said, I don't see a problem with the makeup look itself. But the eye pulling and editing to make their eyes more "almond/slanty"...yeesh
@remi nii what I meant to suggest is that it's kind of laughably remiss. I get what the look they're going for is, but man, do they not take a second to think about how it looks lol?
Why do things suddenly become so understandable when she explains them
😂 So happy to hear this you have no idea ❤️
@@AlexandraAnele I could cry right now. I went and did my eyes along with you using that one contour crease shade and my slightly hooded eyes look soooooo much better and more open. Thank you!! 💜

That’s how you can tell who’s a good teacher, and who only talks for their hell.
I just love how you are complimenting her eye shape cause eye shape is SO UNDERRATED it plays a BIG part on the eyes' "attractiveness" not everything is about color !
I have been doing this type of 'eye look' for the longest time, while all my other friends we're doing the dramatic wing or heavy eyeshadow look and always told me to go "heavier" or even shame me for it... I'm just glad you're explaining how some people's eye shape suits certain looks or how minimal this style can be achieved and be beautifully executed as well.
Same it suits my eyeshape better than when it became a trend. Kinda maddening that people want to achieve such a look when you should just do what’s most natural.
And like. Low key too my friends like to do the dramatic Instagram makeup and for me personally idc for it!! But like. I don’t comment on it. But don’t tell me I should be doing my makeup that way lmao. The extreme wing and eyeshadow is not cute on me
From someone whose eyeliner and eyeshadow game is so heavy it's probably make your friends look all natural: you don't have to achieve super dramatic looks! Makeup is an art, not a mandated set of rules, you can do whatever you want, and if whatever you want is a very subtle and natural-looking look that doesn't even have the flick of the eyeliner, go for it!
tbh the fox eye trend made me kind of sad bc my eyes are totally not suited for it (i have almond-shaped, downturned, slightly protruding eyes). Like even winged liner looks stupid on me sometimes. so im glad you made this
I have the same eye shape I kinda do the "wing" its not really a wing more like extension of the eye but more up if that makes sense and I just do the inner corner and skip everything else :)
Alissa Ashley has great hooded lid tutorials! She doesn't have townturned eyes, but I think her winged liner tutorials might give you some good tips
I have the same thing but round shape, everything looks bad -_-
Thats reminds me, i saw a mua tutorial where they concealed the outer corner of the under eye. This conceals the shadow that makes the eye look more downturned.
@@MilkBreadASMR so do I! I just draw 1 last eyelash on each side with an eyebrow pen, it makes such a difference!
Really reminds me of Twiggy's eye makeup, she has huge eyes and she exaggerated the liner to make it suit her. Makes me happy when people do what actually suits them, not what is in trend at the moment ❤
I like Adele's eye. She doesn't always have a large wing on her eyeliner but she also has a really nice eye shape.
Agreed
You sound so down to earth and "normal" (whatever that means lol) not intimidating or bougie. My new favorite makeup/beauty guru. Subscribed and can't wait to binge on more!
I love that you teach rather than just doing crazy makeup looks all the time. It’s hard to find makeup artists doing tutorials like this. It’s simple and helpful to people who are new to makeup
I have tried FOREVER to find someone who does make up videos who isn't trying to sell me something constantly and seems genuine! So happy to finally find that! ❤
I am forever calling my eyelid space real estate now.
That's free real estate.
*whispers*
*creepy smile*
i t s f r e e r e a l e s t a t e
I don't have much of that free real estate 😅
I have very little real estate. My socket is literally just under my brows.
@@nikki.ragnvindr same😭😭😭
I have round hooded eyes. Doing just a simple line without wings works for my shape so much better. If I do wings they dissappear in my folds unless I bring my line out farther which looks silly. I firmly believe in choosing makeup techniques based on your facial structure vs trends. Thanks for your video. :)
I love how you focus on accentuating our own features. I used to just try to force makeup trends on my face and it just never worked especially with my tiny super hooded eyelids. Love ya!
Finally having tips for hooded and semi-hooded is so nice 😫 Especially coming from someone who seems so genuine. I’ve stopped watching makeup videos on TH-cam bc they all blend in but this channel is definitely one I’m going to binge on
Agreed! Felt like I can’t relate to so many makeup videos cause it’s never helpful for hooded eyelids to achieve the look!
Look up smiths Deepak (I think I spelled her name correctly) she post a lot of makeup tutorials for hooded eyes
I swear throughout this entire video, and most of your video's, you got me feeling my face trying to figure it the f*ck out. What face shape do I have, where are my cheek bones, do I have deep set eyes!? The number of times I do not know is just... 😂...who is with me here!
Omg ikr??? Hahaha its so true ive learned abt my face more through her videos 😂
I change my mind all the time I swear lmao
Hi Sofia! I find myself doing that too. It’s great, isn’t it, because it demonstrates just how well we’re being educated - that we are feeling our own bone structure & skin to follow along, and really understand what it is she’s trying to teach us. Impressed b a side note, isn’t it fascinating how different we can make ourselves look when we really understand the physiology of our faces!?
@@chaqillenikita748 It is great! And it also shows me how much I have to learn! I get excited knowing that I've learned little by little watching her videos
Me right now except I’m on a train from work so I definitely look weird touching and trying to figure out my face 😂
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I have round, hooded eyes and my eyelid crease extends downwards way past the outer corners of my eyes. There is just no way I can do a cat eye style wing with my eye shape, but for the longest time I felt like there was something wrong with my technique or that I didn't know what I was doing. Now I do a puppy eye liner style, which actually fits my eye shape perfectly and looks so cute!
So glad you found a routine that fits you! 🙌🏼❤️
Omg, I have totally the same eyes and problem with eyeliner. It's so nice that I'm not the only one. You've inspired me to do the same and stop thinking that I just suck at doing make up.
Imagine watching someone who make makeup content for learning .. Not for spilling tea or whatever ..
Girl you are the best ❤
FINALLY I am SO grateful for a non judgemental teacher! She appreciates all face types! A realistic queen. Love you girl x
I absolutely love your video style. No intro. No gossip. Straight to the tutorial. Extremely informative. Great tips. Love love love
I’ve always thought I just couldn’t do eyeliner it’s never occurred to me that maybe I just need to find the right shape.
Same! I'm definitely going to look for some different shapes that might work instead
I feel like every time I do the “foxy eye” with black in my waterline it closes off my eyes and I just look like a raccoon (my eyes are similar to your inspo pic)
You could also try not doing the eyeliner all around the eye. I’m not sure how to explain this but I just do the wing starting from the middle of my eye instead of starting from the inner corner. It really lifts the whole face tbh and gives the fox eye look without looking too dramatic.
Jeanine Cristache I do a similar thing too but instead of leaving the inner part of my eye entirely I do the thinnest line possible to make it look cohesive but not heavy. My eyes are pretty round and deep set too.
Thanks to both replies I’ll check it out!
I never fill in my waterline or else i have the same issue too. It makes my entire eye look tinier and closed off.
My eyes are also quite similar to the inspo pic aka very big, round and deep set. Whenever I put something really dark on the lower lashline/waterline I just look like a crazy person, it makes my eyes look like protruding googly eyes lol. I think it has something to do with the big ass space of my white eyeball that is separating the iris from the waterline & that gets accentuated with dark eyeliner. What I do to solve this problem is to put concealer/foundation really high up under my eyes, put a very minimal amount of eyeshadow under my eyes, apply a light brown eyepencil to the lower waterline/lashline & then only apply mascara to the inner and outer corner of my eyes. It really makes it way less obvious and looks so much more natural.
It doesn’t look weird. There was a time when your eyeliner without any wings was all the rage
Yesss
I love the tip about smoothing the under eye area! Why have I never heard this before! Everyone just talks about concealer and baking to smooth it out which only enhances the folds. Definitely giving this a go
You're amazing!! I tried your tricks, this morning. I have "deep wells" below my eyes, and I'm not a young person, anymore, so the developing crepe-y eyelid skin is an issue I've been trying to deal with. These 2 tricks work wonders! I get the benefits of both, with minimal eye shadow that de-emphasizes my changing skin texture!! When I rejoin society, I have something really useful, and pretty, in my arsenal. Thank you, so so much!!
When I stopped doing eye liner, only putting mascara..people started telling me that my face looks like it lost its baby fat. Also my eyes look bigger with just mascara and no eyeliner
Something i do that helps with that (if you ever wanna do liner) is going halfway or 1/3 down the lid with the liner, instead of going all the way to the inner corner. I have deepish set large eyes and if i do full liner i look terrible.
@@shelbymcelwee6917 Same here. I have round eyes, but they are semi hooded and I've found that a half line (that starts thin and thickens just slightly at the end) does so much more for my eye shape.
I love that I feel like I just learned something about makeup. It wasn’t just a standard beauty guru video where it seems like a forced show. This actually seemed like genuine knowledge being passed on and I really, really love that.
This was the first makeup video I’ve seen in a while that’s informative, straight to the point, and still fun to watch. No music, or challenge...just solid info that actually helped me! Thank you!!
best beauty guru out there, very specific with your wording, easily understood, very beautiful and patient with your followers. hands down my absolute fav person on youtube.
I love how she does the option thing. She creates several options and instructions for each. And the different options accentuate different face and eye shapes and different looks that look good on some people and and not so good on others. Respect.
As someone with round eyes who doesn't wear winged liner, I love how flattering this is! Simple yet effective, and totally wearable on a day-to-day basis 😍
I always say that Qveen Herby have the biggest prettiest eye crease. Thank you for notice her!
i just want to thank you for making these videos! i’m 28 and never ventured into makeup because ive been told by several MUAs that i don’t have a right face for it. traumatized me for years. but you make me want to play with it, even if i don’t look good. keep making awesome videos!
I love that you just start teaching. No beating around the bush, just right into it!
thank you so much for explaining things in terms of lights/darks working together, especially when you describe your face in terms of planes and space, it’s sooo helpful to understand!!! i swear your content is unparalleled, thanks for adding your knowledge in art to your youtube videos. honestly one of my favourite beauty gurus ever.
Honestly thats what I normally do for casual looks. A rarely wing my eyes but when I do I make a baby kitten wing
The fact that you used the term "value" in stead of "shade" -- just thank you. From a fellow human with a fine arts background.
Stupid question....can you show that "wedge" or "square" liner you were talking about for down turned eyes? Thank you. :)

I love that you explained why you're doing things and showing side by side comparisons... I never would have thought putting a dark color under my eyes would "smooth it out"... but it made such a difference! Thank you!
Can I just say how much I love your no nonsense, get to the point attitude in your makeup tutorials?
I love this. I’ve noticed myself feeling like I “have to” do a fox eye style liner but I have deep set and they’re somewhat hooded so I struggle. I need to remember to just do what works for me not what everyone else is doing ❤️
When I was in highschool I used to do this a lot as we were not supposed to wear makeup-makeup. So I really think this eyeliner looks very very youthful and innocent and I love it. Thanks for bringing light to this
Omg I feel this cuz my eyes are big as well and the fox eye look doesn't really look good on my eye and so I just never do eyeliner! Great video!
i love how straight-forward her videos are ♡ like literally, no rambling. just deadass straight to the point. ♡
OMG I love this video! I never knew the reasons behind why I did my bottom shadow like that because creasy under eye gang over her too girl! I just knew it looked so much better when I did this step versus when I didn't. There really is a science to this makeup thing. I love your thorough explanation though! Great video!
My hands could NEVER be that steady lol
I feel like the foxy eye trend is kinda dodgy because some people call it the "asian eye" look and that shit just isn't right
Im sorry some people call it the what??
Yeah, wasn’t there a similar named trend where (white) people literally pulled back their eyes to make them seem more Asian? It’s pretty yikes if you ask me
@@crystalrayne2170literally grew up being mocked for my eyes/ethnicity and seeing it as a 'trend' is so infuriating, it's like our features are only tolerable and appreciated once a white person has tried it out & said it's acceptable
Never heard anyone call it that
Asian eye? What a daft name for it.
Asia includes China, Japan, India, Russia, Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Iran.
There's no common eye shape.
your "crease-y under eye bags" are cute and make your big sparkly round eyes even rounder and pretty. There's beauty in our imperfections it what makes us unique ❤ Thanks for your video (as an East Asian viewer)
Thank you for explaining why you place the makeup where you do for each effect. You're actually teaching people how to do their own makeup instead of leaving viewers to wonder why it doesn't work the way they want it to
You’re videos smooth me haha the way you dissect and explain makeup topics so calmly and like without really bashing or being aggressive about opinions is so very nice and calming haha like no pressure information on makeup which is REALLY refreshing sometimes
Thank you for this. I've always done my eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger and rounder because they're very small. Even when I do a wing, I take it straight out instead of upwards because it just suits my face better. Makeup isn't "one way fits all" and it shouldn't be.
I swear you’re the most informative and educational beauty influencer I’ve ever watched! Thankyou for teaching me so much 💓
THAT FINAL LOOK TOOK MY BREATH AWAY OH MY. UR FACE IS JUST A MASTERPIECE
Your tutorial is direct and to the point. I really appreciate your honesty and efficiency.
Since I have a natural fox eye shape, this is exactly how I do my eye makeup everyday to open up my eyes and make them more round. I feel so validated!
This reminds me of the way I used to do makeup. And by that I mean the first part, just liquid eyeliner with white eyelids, back then there was nothing sagging or dropping ... ya know... youth. * cries in old age *
Youth? Hmm...🧐
I can *vaguely* recollect such a time, but it’s all a bit blurry now. Or maybe that’s just down to the fact that I can’t seem find my bloody glasses...
😉 Chaq
I've been seeing a ton of plastic surgery ads to achieve the "fox eye" effect. It's disturbing.
It looks so uncomfortable! The permanent tugging 🤯
Dude I/we appreciate you so much. I’ve been doing my eyeliner downturned for years and couldn’t understand why more people didn’t try it.
I usually use some kind of smokeable eyeshadow/eyeliner and almost like, accentuate my crows feet if you will lol.
BRUH. There's something about crows feet that I find so attractive 😳 It's like evidence of smiles and I love it ❤️
Yessss I just follow the line of my crease and that is down slightly, just looks right on me compared to a random flick upwards! If going sleek and upwards is a fox eye 🦊 then I think rounder and more downturned should be called doe eye 🦌
@@maggiescarlet I think its called puppy liner
Thank you so much, I think the rounder, more classic pin up wing suits my face better than a really harsh snatched dagger-like wing. Makeup can be whatever you want it to be, there's no right or wrong way to do makeup

“Fox eye” is just cat eye but with some eyeshadow added. Not anything groundbreaking lol
I know. I really don't understand what the hype and controversy is about. Cat eye shaped liner and eyeshadow have been around for a long time. It's nothing new. Now pulling your eyelids back i can understand is offensive because people do that to make fun of Asian eyes. But the makeup part, I don't understand what the big deal is
Exactly lmao. Also, I have hooded eyes, so doing a typical cat eyeliner never works well for me. But angled eyeshadow "fox eye" was a game changer for me. Didn't realize there was a trendy word for it now.
Lol i just went and googled some images because i never heard of a fox eye. I was very confused looking at cat eye photos basically said the same thing to myself.
Exactly.
Fox eye is supposed to very thin with an inner corner wing. It is very very similar to a cat eye.
This channel has taught me so much about how to use makeup then any other channel. The way she teaches is so intuitive and easy to follow.
I've always done my liner the way Queen does it. I have big almond eyes, deep sockets. I never cared for the winged look, never needed to do it. it's trendy I get it. But following your eye shape is classic and never goes out of style. Thanks for the vid. Not hatin on winged beauties just sharing my experience
People always tell me that I have pretty eyes. They're small and slightly hooded, the bottom eyelashes look longer than the top, but they look unique and delicate so I usually only wear mascara because I like the way they look. If I do wear eyeliner, I simply follow the shape of my eye with brown eyeliner and make the line really thin. You don't always have to change the shape of your eye to the ideal shape. Sometimes accentuating your unique features makes you the most beautiful.
Huh. That’s so interesting coz when i watched that video, the “round” side looked right to me 😅 like i was doing the foxy eye coz it was a trend but I actually have big eyes that would really pop when i do the round one so seeing that video was like a game changer for me. Im loving my eyeliner more round now. 💛
i actually like the left side because i have such big eyes and don't want them any bigger 😂 to each their own
Yeah I liked that side better too
No eyeliner suits me because I got a mild hooded eyes and less eyelids and eyebrows gap..will be grateful if you make a video for girls like me
i have this problem too! kinda hooded eyes are so annoying because i’ve got some room for eyeliner but only tiny amounts, but i struggle to wear both eyeliner and eyeshadow because my eyebrows are so close >:(
Same. Hooded, deep-set, small, downturned eyes here. It's like God said "I'm gonna make your eyes ugly because fuck you."
This is the only makeup tutorial that will actually work for my eyes, another way to line the upper lid, how to shadow right for hooded eyes by using your bone, and using light pink instead of white liner, just little things I wouldn't have thought of, the explanation as to why actually made sense, thank you!!
Man, I have watched so many fucking beauty you tubers and I think yours are the first videos I've ever seen that have actually taught me how to do make up, partly because you explain the why's. So thanks for that. I've been smudging eyeliner on my lids for ever and your eyeliner videos actually taught me how to line my lids. So *chef's kiss* to you.
I always done the snatched eyeliner and didn't know it was a trend up until I watched this video, I just liked how it looked on me
I think people should do what they want lol, if they arent harming anyone then I don't see the issue. I have small eyes and love doing high eyeliner and pointing my inner corner and I look good with it.
In makeup school we referred to it as orbital bone, so it doesn't get mixed with the crease.
I’m honored you spoke so kindly of deep set eye sockets. I’m 21 and people tell me they make me look tired and older. You put a new perspective on it for me.
Also your under-eye”bags” are not annoying! You are incredibly beautiful. This channel can be a platform for celebrating rather than putting down slightly less conventional beauty. You’re gorgeous and I would love to hear you recognising that so much more! Sending you all the love.
“Real estate” and the “saggy” LOL now I know how to describe my lids
“saggy real estate” is my new band name
The fox eye “trend” just feels kinda toxic. I mean East Asian people have been bullied about their eye shape for ages and now people are pulling back their eyes and calling it Bella Hadid eyes. But maybe I’m reaching. ( I’m brown).
Edit: pls stop writing essays under this comment the notifications are annoying me. Unless some one knows how to turn comment notifications off 🤔👀
i agree as a chinese. this trend is just offensive to east Asians in general
As a white person who has slanted eyes, im kinda glad this trend is happening. Hear me out, if this becomes a bigger beauty trend the bullying might become less common. I dont know though, and i see why people are saying this is toxic.
just ur local karen It would be nice if they complimented people who have this eye-shape (esp since they’ve previously been bullied over it) but when people start really going out of their way to completely change their eyeshape it feels just a little weird to me
@@user-hb4zz4gh5e ya, i understand that
just ur local karen hmm but doesn’t it seem a little odd if the fox eye look only becomes trendy because of white people? Or that asians who naturally have the fox eye look never get the attention given to white people when they have the look? Idk but maybe that won’t help the bullying at all, considering it’s only the people who go the extra effort to wear winged liner/undergo eye surgeries/doing the racist gesture to get the fox eye look are considered pretty as opposed to certain asian people that already have them naturally.
That feeling when you’re eyes are so hooded that eye liner doesn’t do shit
My mom would tight line and just add a wing only to the outside of her eyes.
@@myiamurphy8949 same thing over here
Do it with your eyes open it's a game changer
git good at making the line extremely thin
Low-key the only makeup artist I can watch and literally make it to the end of the video and enjoy it. The fairy makeup guru
I have been trying looks by putting shadow in the crease of my skin for so long. No wonder nothing was working, I gave up on anything more than the most basic of eyeshadow looks. We have very similar eyelids. Thank you for every fresh and open minded perspective that each video brings. Someone who loves makeup but doesn't take herself too seriously - perfect.
I'd love to see a "dude..." video for contour shades, I recently had to go through and find the perfect one for me. Anything darker than a grey was a no go, and most of the warmer tones looked red on me. Bonus points if you have friends you can also swatch on to show how colors look different on different undertones! Love your vids.
I have never been this early, not even to the airport...and that's saying something 😂😂😂
😂 That's love ❤️
HAHAHAHA! 😂 Great comment, Dhara! 👍🏼
i’ve always done my makeup my way and what makes me happy. it kinda bugs me how i’ve always done eyeliner a certain way and the people who poked fun at me for it suddenly keep asking how i do it because “it’s trendy” now.
What a humble brag
You are truly so beautiful and you have such gorgeous natural features. Your eyebrows are flawless, your eyes are so pretty in color and shape, your skin is so clear and beautiful... I am so obsessed with your look. 💜🌟🖤🏆 just had to tell you
Wow! That under eye contour is amazing. Well, all of it was. You are so clever, funny, and beautiful. Thanks for all of your tips.
Thank you so much! Hope it helps 😘
