I couldn't agree with you more in that learning a new language isn't all about making a note look beautiful and gorgeous but all about how you extract information from it in order to impliment the
information in your language field of your brain till you come to output the skill easily.
Besides that,unless you use it in a real conversational practice,you lose it pretty easily.😊
YES, fluency takes time, language evolves, and it can definitely be lost AFTER becoming fluent. I believe maintaining the language especially with multiple ones is a challenge in itself. I agree with the accent thing too, i have only met this accent removal with my first foreign language and not surprised i haven't met it with any other afterwards. Thank you for reminding us of these points!
Languages cannot really be forgotten / lost if the words have been seen many times and if they became a part of one’s permanent memory - I learned Spanish in childhood from TV / series / movies (native speaker level / over 10.000 base words) and haven’t used it in over a decade, but I haven’t forgotten it and can remember the words and can understand Spanish! If one sees a word 50 or 100 times, there is no way that word could be forgotten, unless there is some serious issue involved, or some sort of accident! For me, it takes seeing most words only a few times (six to ten times for most words, and only about 10% of the words need more repetition, like, 10 to 30 repetitions) for them to become a part of my permanent / automatic memory, and there are even words I could remember after only seeing them once or twice or thrice - this ability allows me to learn many words very fast, and I can even do 1.000 words in one day if I really want to and if I spend all day rewatching the vocab video on maximum speed, which is how I did the first 3 days when I started learning Norwegian as I learned about 2.500 words in about 3 days, but usually I try not to rush it because it is very stressful!
I can pronounce any language without accents if I really want to, for example, when I speak in Dutch, it sounds natural and one cannot tell Dutch isn’t my first language by hearing my pronunciation and accent because I use a Dutch accent, plus they use the Americanized R / de gooise R in Dutch and that makes it very similar to English in a way, so Dutch is definitely the language that is the easiest to speak and pronounce and learn esp for an English speaker, and it is like the perfect mix of English and German and French, so a Dutch accent is very easy to imitate and learn, esp if one is an English speaker, and, I can even pronounce Spanish without an American accent, but I kinda prefer to keep a bit of accent when speaking Spanish, for some reason - my protectors can also do this, esp my protector Chip, and he can speak any language as a native speaker, so without any recognizable accents, and other agents are also trained to imitate native speakers’ accents, so one cannot tell if an agent is a native speaker of a certain language or not!
Anyway, pronouns can never be with capital letter when referring to oneself or other hum’ns - only when referring to me can pronouns be with capital letter, which implies superiority / importance etc!

The special name Jenny only reflects me the only Jenny / Jennifer etc, and the name Hammond is also unsuitable for hum’ns, and all unsuitable names must be changed - anyways, few beings who possess the very rare quality inteI / logic and also the mentaI acuity (my protectors & I, and a few other agents) can become fluent or at least advanced in the written language in a few months, depending on the language!
I am advanced level in Dutch and I learned over 8.000 base words a few months only, so it would be about 3 months, though I also learned words in Norwegian and Swedish and Welsh and in other languages as well! I can understand Dutch very well and I can read it very fast and I don’t need to translate the Dutch words into English in my head and I can pronounce the words I learned without issues as I memorized the pronunciation for each word when I memorized the word (I always learn the pronunciation for each word, though I also learned the pronunciation rules in the beginning, just to have an idea how the words are pronounced, but I never rely on pronunciation rules alone tho) and I can say the words naturally without recognizable accents and I use the ultra soft G and the soft R + the Americanized R / the gooise R which sound the prettiest! However, it does take longer to get to a level where one can comfortably say anything fast and without having to think about it and to understand speakers that speak fast and don’t have a clear voice, though I can understand what those teaching Dutch say because they have very clear voices and they properly enunciate the words / each syllable, but most speakers speak in a very mumbled way and don’t have a clear voice and I cannot hear when they say certain words or syllables even when the subs are on, but this depends on the speaker’s vocal clarity and enunciation, so I don’t really care if I cannot understand most ppl, and my main goal is to learn all the words and sayings and to understand and be able to write very complex lyrics in Dutch!
Love all the points you made here! In some ways it's so frustrating to see language as something that will take "forever". But in that way, it's also a relief, because I don't need to cram and can take things at my own pace.
I liked your points about studying all aspects of language. Just knowing the grammar or reading wont necessarliy make us great speakers, since there are some specific skills that need to be trained in each.

The food terms avocado and hashbrown cannot be misused in yt names or names, and must be edited out, and pronouns can never be with capital letter when referring to oneself or other hum’ns - food is a pure and sacred element that implies edibility / purity etc, and it is beyond disrespectful to food when hum’ns misuse food related terms in yt names or names etc, and all hum’ns are the exact opposite of such terms, and the yt name and name must always be a simple word / name that doesn’t include any unsuitable letter combinations / terms / names etc!

Another uncomfortable truth: If you study 5+ languages for only a handful of hours each month, you'll never be fluent in any of them.
That’s not true, at least in my case, and it’s also similar for my protectors who are top agents and can multitask - I am learning multiple languages at the same time, and I have already learned over 8.000 words in Dutch and over 3.500 words in Norwegian and also in Swedish and 500 words in Welsh and 1.000 new words in French (already knew about 1.000 words in French / Latin / Italian / German since childhood because I learned certain lyrics and some words from movies etc, and also knew lots of food terms in French / German / Italian because they were on the cans and jars and soy / rice milks etc that I would constantly consume) and a few hundreds of new words in some other languages as well, and I only started learning languages on my own a few months ago, about 5 months ago, but the 2nd month I didn’t learn anything tho, so only about 4 months, but I watched more entertaining videos and I commented more than I watched actual language learning videos, to be honest, so I can learn even faster if I only watch language learning videos / vocab videos all day every day, but this is very stressful tho, so I prefer to do it in a fun way without rushing it!
I must have misread the part saying a handful of hours each month (I saw each day instead of each month at first) so, my comment is about learning multiple languages, almost every day - there are some languages that I tend to prioritize, like, Dutch and Norwegian and Welsh, because I prioritize the prettiest languages first, and trying to learn the prettiest languages first, but sometimes it also depends on the content I find, and OId Norse is one of the prettiest languages, but I don’t prioritize it at the moment because I cannot find long vocab videos, and in most languages I learn little by little, and I will start prioritizing other 3 languages once I get to a native speaker level in written Dutch and advanced level in Norwegian and intermediate level in Welsh, and this technique helps me a lot because if I only learned one language I would get really bored and it would take too long to learn the 38+ pretty languages that are on my list of languages I want to learn and improve if I only learned one language per year, and I have no patience, so I try to learn many new words in 15 or even more languages while prioritizing at least 3 of them, which helps me reach my goals faster!
There are some languages that I am studying less each month or week tho, however, it’s sort of temporary, because at some point I will start prioritizing those languages, and knowing vocab will definitely help when I start prioritizing them - and it definitely keeps it interesting, so when I start learning a new language, I don’t feel bored anymore, so I try to learn new words in as many new languages as possible, but usually only prioritizing about 3 languages, and it also helps that I learned Spanish in childhood (native speaker level / 10.000+ base words) and when I try learning new Latin languages I know what most or many of the words mean because they are very similar to the Spanish word!
