Buccaneer Bay was a water raft ride with water guns you can shoot people with from on the ride. It's been closed for years and is largely just used as the grave place for former rides ironically
Six Flags Great America is my home park. I’ve been going there since I was a boy. Especially at the front of the park (Carousel Plaza, Orleans Place, Hometown Square), you can tell the original owner Marriott took some design cues from Disney. The observation tower was my mom’s favorite ride. Whizzer was my dad’s favorite. Where Superman is now, they used to have an Arrow mega looper (seven inversions) called Shockwave. When Superman was first being planned, they were going to demolish Whizzer. Due to negative feedback and Shockwave’s declining popularity and maintenance issues (there were several parts that had to be continually re-welded), they removed that instead. They did repurpose the station though. It is nice that they put in some landscaping for Superman. When Shockwave was there you could tell it was built on a section of parking lot. You could even see where the parking spaces were. The Dark Knight Coaster is just a wild mouse they installed in an old theater but it’s still a fun ride. DC Universe was originally called Yankee Harbor and it was themed after a New England seaside village. I saw you going into Strutters and I was like “please don’t eat there. There are better places in the park to eat.” I really like the smoked turkey breast sandwich at Yukon BBQ. Believe it or not, American Eagle used to have even more queue. That Kidzopolis area used to be tne entrance area for AE. And it would be full. It’s been retired from racing because the turnaround bowl can’t handle it and Six Flags doesn’t want to invest the money to fix it up.
This is my home park, it definitely has some issues but the coaster selection and operations is usually on point. 😅 The cost of flash pass all season atleast currently is significantly less than cedar point all season fast lane if you have the diamond season pass that’s gets you half off all season flash pass. In the future if you wanted to stick to the lower tier flash pass with 50 percent reduction in wait time you can buy one time use flash passes for max force for usually around $10 each, just a pro tip. 👍👍 love the vids
I've been to SFGA twice, once last year and once this year. I enjoyed my visit this year more because of improved ride operations. The park is clean and decently themed. In my opinion their coaster lineup needs an upgrade. The 4 best coasters (Raging Bull, Goliath, Maxx Force, Superman) would be B tier in larger parks. However I do like the variety of coaster types. Is it cheaper to buy Flash Pass online or @ the park?
@@Posirep I feel Goliath is the only one without a pothole, of course I haven't had the pleasure of riding the oversea's copper-top track. Lightning Rod had the same pot holes at the base of the drops.
This is my home park, so its always nice to see people have fun here, however this is the first time someone actually took the time to appreciate the detail and theming in this park, which i love! Your criticism of the live entertainment and "DC universe" is also very valid, i hate that fact one of out original lands was removed for IP, and i which we had better live entertainment, especially since back in olfer videos i see od the park, it was way better. I hope so too! I quite enjoy this park and I could see it being one of the better parks in the USA! I really enjoyed being there and can’t wait to come back!
My understanding of American Eagle is the structure won’t allow both sides to run at the same time. They have been running 1 side per year for the last several years. Last year the red side ran. This year the blue side is running, and next year they will likely run the red side.
Glad you enjoyed my home park! What steel elements on Viper are you talking about? The track is fully wooden and is not a hybrid coaster. VERY different track style and material than Steel Vengeance’s I-Box track.
There are steel connective frames that you can see under the track by the queue. I’m just shit talking, but it’s a hill I’ll die on. Steel vengeance is also a wooden coaster. It’s just an amazing wooden coaster with the same amount of steel as every other wooden coaster. 😂😂😂
Hey guys! I happen to notice that you were both using the Flash Pass on each of your phones. Just so you know you are able to combine accounts so you have it all available on 1 phone. I’m surprised they didn’t mention this to you when you went inside to inquire about it. I believe up to 6 people can be on one account and then you can reserve them all together with one selection rather then everyone doing it separately on their own phones.
Six Flags Great America is my home park. That area that was blocked off that you said looked like a splash pad used to be a water ride called Buccaneer Battle where the riders could spray on lookers and the on lookers can spray the riders. It ran from 2009-2021. Based on your clips from the show, it looks bad from seasons past. Shows used to be real entertaining. Glad you enjoyed your time!
Hey my home park, glad you enjoyed it! It is definitely not the perfect park and has problems but I am proud of what we have and hope it gets better with Cedar Fair taking over! Hope to catch you at Great America again soon!
People seem to be freaking out about park name changes. Cedar Point will be Cedar Point. Kings Island will be Kings Island. If anything, some of the prior Six Flags parks which never had an identity might finally get one. The first three Six Flags don't have actual names. "Over Texas, Over Georgia, and St. Louis....which originally was Over Mid-America...... aren't names. Fiesta Texas is a name. Magic Mountain is a name. Great Adventure is a name. Cedar Fair's parks each have a name and a personality.
six flags great america use to be my homepark and i miss it. it's such a beautiful park and their coaster line up is great! found it to be one of the cleanest parks as well
Great America is a great park. It does need some work, but, all in all, it's really fun and very well run. Definitely put your phone in power saver mode. The best thing about Six Flags Flash pass is that they can monitor how many people have reserved a spot and prevent more reservations from being added so, you, as a guest, are not walking a half mile to a coaster to find a half hour wait in the Flash pass line such as I have experienced with Maverick. I actually get way more rides in at Great America on Saturdays using Ultimate Flash than i got at CP using Fast Lane. Plus, I got National Flash for $290 last August during their big sale. I DEFINITELY prefer Flash pass over Fast Lane. As soon as you get a code scanned, reserve your next ride. Also, your Flash Pass may be move to another phone or wifi device.
Haven’t done flash pass with Six Flags, but I’ve done fast lane plus many many times. It’s weird at Cedar Point, especially with Steel Ven and Millennium Force where the fast lane line merges and it’s still a 15-20 min wait from where it merges. Parks like Kings Island, all fast lane goes straight to the station.
Not only eating the battery, but what about rides you can't take phones on to? This sounds like the Disney way of doing fast passes. But disney just changed that last week so you can schedule rides ahead of time and you can schedule more than 1 at a time.

The pretzel loop is too much on Superman, it would be more fun without it.
Agreed. It’s a lot.
I think the park would be better off without superman. It's my home park and I very rarely ride it.
Thanks again for all your hard work and videos have you been to my home park magic mountain and your thoughts
I have not! This was my first six flags park!
